PreCentral: webOS apps for designers

webOS apps for designers

Form, function, color, and style are the hallmarks of great design. If great designers like Jamie Drake or Candice Olsen lacked one of these components they would not have created the show-stopping designs we’ve come to admire. And with that, so many are people glued to their TVs addicted to HGTV, Fine Living and the DIY Network trying to figure out how to bring that inspiration to life in their own homes. And let’s face it, we didn’t win the lottery, nor do we have the Kardashian’s bankroll to acquire a designer of that caliber. So how does the average person find the tools to make their dreams come true within the budgets they have? With our trust TouchPad by our side, we set out to see what apps are out there to inspire your inner designer and bring your ideas to life.

    • Question: Is it possible to program the color buttons on the Magic Remote?

Is it possible to program the 4 color button on the Magic Remote? For example, I would like them to switch to apps like YouTube TV, Vudu, etc.? My remote has 2 buttons just above the color buttons which are pre-programmed for Netflix and Amazon. I want to use the color buttons for other apps. Anyone done this?

    • Looking to buy Smart TV with screen grab function - Questions

I am not a current owner of an LG Smart TV but I'm looking to buy a Smart TV with a screen grab function built into the TV.  I searched and came upon information in this forum that LG Smart TV's with WebOS on them do indeed have a screen grab feature and I have some questions regarding that. 1. Just to reaffirm my info, do LG Smart TV's actually have a screen grab feature built into them? 2. Is WebOS stand alone software built into the TV set? In other words, is the TV independent of a PC operating system? 3. Concerning the screen grab feature. Is the screen grab feature independent within the TV set/not dependent on any other device to operate? 4. Can you save your screen grab to a USB drive? 5. If you can save your image to a USB drive what format does the TV save them in? JPEG, BMP, etc. 6. What is the max resolution the TV saves the screen grab? 7. Can you do a screen grab of any image ported to your TV from any device? Cable STB, Video Game Console, etc. 8.  The info that I read on another thread here  said  that to take a screenshot on the LG you press the input/123  button on the remote and save it to the photo editing app. Is this photo editing app a part of the LG TV software and do you navigate and execute commands in this photo editing app with the remote control?

    • design improvement needed for LG 4K TVs

First problem ,bigger hard drive needed maybe an expansion port like a hard drive carriage to plug in new hard drive ,no more " Internet explorer needs to close down to free up more memory space " Second problem , search engine is an old version but can not download new edition Third problem , not all content can be viewed like flash play or even some picture types.......Maybe some designer could come up with a small dedicated media based 4K TV PC ,as a separate product it could cover all these problems and more..... I would like to be able to split screen internet and TV  Also i would like a magic remote control that i could just sit in a docking port to charge up as batteries do not last long and an audible sound to find it after the kids have had it and misplaced it. A choice off mood setting or screen saver 4K programs like a log fire, fish tank, the beach, wild life...... What would you like to see added or improved?
