SEOUL, Oct. 17, 2022 — LG Electronics (LG) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Unity, the world’s leading platform for creating and operating real-time 3D (RT3D) content, for the development of meta-home and digital humans.

Meta-home will let users create a highly accurate ‘digital twin’ of their personal living space, enabling them to spend time in a dynamic, virtual version of their own home. All the LG products installed in the user’s real home can be found inside meta-home. What’s more, any adjustments the user makes to their LG devices’ settings, features or functions within the digital environment will be reflected in the real world, providing an innovative, convenient method of control and an enjoyable, new customer experience.

Users can also customize their digital abode by rearranging the furniture and appliances, and come together with other meta-home users from all over the world to share personal tips and experiences of using LG’s advanced lifestyle solutions.

On top of that, meta-home will feature ultra-lifelike digital humans that can sense when users need assistance, offering timely support, for example, should they require help managing a specific appliance function. Through the integration of LG’s voice recognition, natural language processing and contextual learning technologies, as well as Unity’s sophisticated engine – which is used across various industries – these digital helpers will be able to communicate in an exceptionally natural way.

In addition to their conversational skills, meta-home’s virtual occupants will make interactions feel more ‘human’ thanks to their realistic, situationally-appropriate facial expressions and gestures.

“Meta-home featuring digital humans will leverage LG’s advanced technologies and in-depth understanding of consumers and the home environment, and Unity’s unrivaled capabilities in RT3D and computer graphics, to deliver a true customer-experience innovation,” said Dr. Kim Byoung-hoon, CTO and executive vice president of LG Electronics.

Collaboration to Deliver Integrated Solutions Combining
Cooling, Power and IT Infrastructure for AI Data Centers

SEOUL, Nov. 4, 2025 — LG Electronics (LG) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Flex, a global manufacturing leader and innovator in data center infrastructure solutions. Under the agreement, LG and Flex will collaborate on the joint development integrated, modular cooling solutions that address the escalating thermal management challenges of AI-era data centers.
Advanced cooling technologies are required for more efficient heat dissipation in high-density data centers. The partnership brings together LG’s high-performance air and liquid cooling modules, including CRAC, CRAH, chillers, coolant distribution units (CDUs) and full suite of thermal management and monitoring solutions with Flex’s liquid cooling portfolio, proprietary power products and IT infrastructure solutions. This gives data center operators the agility to customize solutions and scale with demand.
LG is actively exploring diverse opportunities to expand its data center business worldwide. In Jakarta, Indonesia, the company recently secured an AI data center project that is set to become one of the largest of its kind in the country. LG is also collaborating with DATAVOLT, a global data center infrastructure provider, on projects in the Middle East and Africa, and has been awarded a contract to supply cooling solutions for a hyperscale data center under construction in North America.
In addition, LG has partnered with LG Uplus, a telecommunications provider under LG Corp., to successfully complete a proof-of-concept demonstrating advanced liquid cooling technology for data center thermal management solutions. The company is also developing next-generation CDUs and cold plate solutions scheduled for completion later this year, with commercialization to follow.
Building on its debut at Data Center World (DCW) held in Washington D.C. earlier this year, LG recently showcased its latest cooling technologies at DCW Asia 2025 in Singapore, further accelerating its efforts to expand its presence in the global market.
“Through our collaboration with LG, Flex now offers customers a complete range of cooling solutions to tackle escalating heat challenges in the data center,” said Michael Hartung, president and Chief Commercial Officer, Flex. “Together, we’ll deliver prefabricated, scalable data center infrastructure solutions that incorporate advanced liquid and air cooling technologies to increase efficiency, simplify deployment and speed time to revenue for our customers.”
Co-developed solutions will be available as part of the Flex AI infrastructure platform, the first globally manufactured data center platform integrating power, cooling, compute and services into modular designs. Flex provides advanced manufacturing capabilities, innovative power and cooling products and end-to-end lifecycle services that solve for data center power, heat and scale challenges in the AI era.
“We are advancing our competitiveness in the AI data center market by strategically partnering with leading global companies,” said James Lee, president of the LG ES Company. “Our collaboration with Flex adds new momentum to our global expansion and enhances our ability to deliver unique value to clients worldwide.”

Taking center stage at the company’s IFA 2025 exhibit, LG ThinQ AI integrates the ThinQ UP and ThinQ Care services to provide a personalized, ever-evolving customer experience along with proactive appliance management. This innovative platform advances LG’s core product technologies through AI and usage data analysis, optimizing the product experience and enhancing customers’ overall quality of life. LG will begin rolling out ThinQ AI in key European markets throughout September.
With AI-powered features such as continuous, tailored upgrades and intelligent performance optimization based on user behavior, LG ThinQ AI redefines home living, elevates the overall smart appliance experience and reinforces LG’s leadership in the European AI home solutions market.
A core element of the platform, ThinQ UP enables compatible appliances to acquire new features via software updates, ensuring they remain up-to-date and relevant to customers’ ever-changing lifestyles. Complementing this, ThinQ Care provides proactive support that predicts potential malfunctions or issues before they occur. Drawing on extensive usage data, its smart diagnostics detect even minor issues and guide customers through simple solutions, boosting product reliability and peace of mind.
ThinQ AI also reflects the priorities of Europe’s discerning, eco-conscious consumers, with a focus on energy efficiency and ease of use. For washing machines, Energy Saving Mode helps lower household energy consumption, while refrigerators benefit from AI Saving Mode, which intelligently reduces power use. Convenience-driven features include Fresh Keeper, which prevents clothes left in the washer from wrinkling or smelling, and the tub clean reminder to maintain hygiene. Refrigerator functions include Night View, which adjusts display brightness at night, and the Smart Fill system, allowing the water dispenser to deliver precisely pours. Users can even reconfigure the built-in ice dispenser to serve as an additional water dispenser, providing greater flexibility.
Moving forward, LG plans to deliver a steady flow of region-specific ThinQ UP features inspired by customer feedback. Through the Share Your Ideas function in the ThinQ app, users can propose new features that may be developed into real updates. Following the European rollout this month, LG will gradually expand ThinQ UP service availability worldwide throughout the rest of the year.
At IFA 2025, LG will showcase a diverse range of appliances enhanced with ThinQ AI and tailored for European consumers. Harmonious and differentiated smart home lifestyle scenes will demonstrate how the company’s latest innovations seamlessly elevate everyday living. “Our innovative ThinQ AI platform offers differentiated convenience and efficiency through continuous upgrades and intelligent, proactive care,” said Lyu Jae-cheol, president of the LG Home Appliance Solution Company. “We are committed to creating an AI home experience that evolves in step with the unique needs of every customer.”
ThinQ AI and an array of innovative home appliance solutions will be on show at LG’s IFA 2025 exhibition booth (Hall 18, Messe Berlin) in Berlin, Germany, from September 5-9.
