With electric cars well established as the future of the auto industry and autonomous vehicles just around the corner, the concept of mobility is changing at a furious pace. In fact, the auto industry is expected to change more in the next five years than it has in the last fifty, according to experts.

OMNIPOD-07.png

Today’s cars are already computers on wheels so it makes sense that automobiles and technology would follow similar trajectories. The OMNIPOD concept car announced at CES 2022 is an example of LG’s vision for the future, where transportation, technology and smart living all overlap in one product.

OMNIPOD-02.png

LG OMNIPOD is a fully autonomous vehicle that acts as an extension of the home with an onboard living space that adapts to the passenger’s unique needs. This could mean anything from serving as office space, a recording studio, video editing workroom or even a lounge. OMNIPOD’s expansive tunnel screen (Meta-environment Screen) that stretches from the floor to the ceiling is key to achieving the effect of different environments.

OMNIPOD-03.png

Before entering OMNIPOD, passengers first pass through the Air Shower which gently blows negatively ionized air over the individual to carry away dust and germs. Passengers can place their coats, jackets and shoes in the LG Styler which utilizes ionizing technology to ensure that everything is fresh and wrinkle-free on arrival at the destination, ideal for events or meetings.

Once inside the vehicle cabin, Reah adjusts the multimedia screen to create the optimal environment for productivity: the smallest screen dimension can be used as a center dashboard providing essential information such as weather, time and schedule, the mid height screen can be used as a dual monitor or the full size for Cinema mode.

The cabin’s monitoring system scans actions and commands to provide a personalized service that adjusts temperature and lighting accordingly. The interior is equipped with a refrigerator that delivers cooling in a compact space through the Peltier effect*. Designed to be modular, the shelves in the refrigerator can be rearranged to hold items of different sizes from soft drinks to bottles of wine as well as foodstuff. And with an induction range on top, cooking is also possible without taking up any of the cabin’s precious space.

OMNIPOD-6.png

Watching various content on the move is already a good tip to enjoy travel. By connecting OMNIPOD’s tunnel and multimedia screens, passengers can feel like they’ve virtually entered the movie they’re watching. And when the time comes for some much-needed shut-eye, OMNIPOD turns into the perfect sleeping environment by switching lights and screens off, reclining the seat and returning the screen to its original position. The cabin even monitors quality of sleep with its thermal camera and sensors to measure heart rates and body temperatures.

OMNIPOD-01.png

As an autonomous vehicle, on top of enjoying various content on the move, passengers can still monitor the outside environment in real time via exterior cameras. And those who still like driving can use driving mode and, with the MR Navi – a real-time map reflecting accurate topography and real buildings created by LG’s R&D lab and digital map specialist

– shown on the multimedia screen, one never has to worry about getting lost again.

Finally, once everyone has disembarked, Reah can manage the entire vehicle and ensure it remains in tiptop condition for the next trip, such as utilizing UV lighting and robot vacuums to prevent germs and dust from accumulating.

Not just a concept car, LG Vision OMNIPOD represents the company’s vision for future mobility, so watch this space to find out how you’ll be getting around in the next few years.

Deepening Strategic Partnership to Drive Innovation in
      Next-Generation Mobility Solutions

SEOUL, Nov. 13, 2025 — Executives from LG Electronics, LG Display, LG Energy Solution and LG Innotek met with Mercedes-Benz AG to discuss expanded collaboration under LG’s “One LG Solution” strategy. Focused on leveraging the combined expertise of LG Group affiliates, this effort brings together the four companies driving the Group’s automotive components business.
The meeting took place on November 13 at LG Twin Towers in Yeouido, Seoul, during the visit of Ola Källenius, Chairman of the Board of Management and CEO of Mercedes-Benz Group AG, to Korea. Participants included William Cho, CEO of LG Electronics; Jeong Cheol-dong, CEO of LG Display; Kim Dong-myung, CEO of LG Energy Solution; and Moon Hyuk-soo, CEO of LG Innotek, alongside Mathias Vaitl, CEO of Mercedes-Benz Korea and other senior executives.
Discussions centered on strengthening cooperation to support Mercedes-Benz’s vision for the future of mobility – including the transition to electric vehicles (EVs) and the establishment of a flexible, sustainable global production network driven by digitalization and automation.
In line with this shared vision, LG Electronics, LG Display, LG Energy Solution and LG Innotek presented their next-generation solutions in EV components, batteries, displays and autonomous driving sensors, seeking new ways to strengthen integration under the One LG Solution framework.
The four LG Group affiliates already work closely with Mercedes-Benz across multiple core areas of mobility technology:
LG Electronics and Mercedes-Benz have long worked together on core systems for software-defined vehicles (SDVs), including in-vehicle infotainment (IVI) and advanced driver assistance systems. A notable example is the co-developed OLED-based IVI system for the Mercedes-Benz EQS, featuring a curved panoramic display that spans the entire dashboard – reflecting the growing trend toward immersive, large-format in-vehicle screens. LG Display has been supplying advanced Plastic OLED (P-OLED) panels to Mercedes-Benz since 2020. Built on flexible plastic substrates, the P-OLED panels deliver exceptional image quality and enable elegant, curved designs, including those featured in Mercedes-Benz’s next-generation MBUX Hyperscreen infotainment system. LG Energy Solution continues its partnership with Mercedes-Benz in the area of electric vehicle batteries. LG Innotek is in discussions to expand cooperation in autonomous driving sensor technologies, including vehicle camera modules, LiDAR and Radar. “At Mercedes-Benz, we firmly believe that strategic, collaborative partnerships are the driving force which shapes our next generation vehicles,” said, Ola Källenius, CEO of Mercedes-Benz AG. “Together with LG, we share a vision built on innovation, quality and sustainability. By combining our strengths, we’re creating vehicles that will set new global standards.”
“We will further solidify our strategic partnership with Mercedes-Benz by leveraging our core competencies in the vehicle components business – from our user experience-centric value proposition to our integrated SDV solution portfolio and globally proven technology and reliability,” said William Cho, CEO of LG Electronics.

Across Asia, lifestyle changes are reshaping how people find comfort and care at home. Consumers are turning toward subscription-based living – a smarter and more flexible way to enjoy the latest home innovations.
LG Subscribe is leading this shift with premium products, expert maintenance services and flexible payment plans. From Singapore’s first experiential LG Subscribe Brand Store at Suntec City to Thailand’s rapid growth toward 20,000 subscribers in its first year, we are making more accessible living a reality.
Singapore: A New Era of Smart Living at Suntec City
On August 6, 2025, LG Singapore opened the doors to its first LG Subscribe Brand Store in Singapore at Suntec City – a space that celebrates our vision to make life easier through real solutions tailored to different lifestyles.

To kick off the event, Fabian Kunho Lee, Managing Director of LG Singapore, shared how LG Subscribe blends technology with accessibility and care to begin “a new chapter in customer experience.” After the classic ribbon-cutting ceremony, a vibrant lion dance performance set the tone for an auspicious and energetic start.

Media and key partners toured the experiential store, exploring appliances such as the LG Styler®, washing machines, refrigerators and air purifiers – all available through flexible subscription plans. Product specialists also introduced LG Careship, a routine maintenance service covered by a monthly fee, ensuring that every appliance performs at its best.

Beyond retail, the store is designed as a welcoming space for families. In September, LG Singapore hosted a special Children’s Day event, transforming the store into a lively playground filled with interactive games, creative workshops and sweet treats. This celebration marked the beginning of a series of weekend experiences that make family time part of the LG Subscribe journey.
Thailand: Celebrating One Year of Growth and Innovation
In Thailand, LG Subscribe has quickly become a leader in the home appliance subscription market since its launch in October 2024. LG Thailand surpassed 10,000 subscribers in just nine months and are on track to reach 20,000 as its first anniversary approaches.

To celebrate this success, LG Thailand recognized outstanding Lifestyle Planners (LPs) and Lifestyle Sales Managers (LSMs) at the 2025 LSM Awards in July. Their dedication and customer-first mindset have been key to the program’s rapid expansion. The subsidiary also launched LG Subscribe Friends, an influencer initiative that invites creators to share authentic stories about how subscription living enhances everyday life in Thailand.

LG Thailand has successfully expanded its service network to 50 areas nationwide. With three LG Subscribe Complex Centers already open in Chiang Mai, Nakhon Ratchasima and Hat Yai, it plans to increase the number to seven by year’s end. The next milestone is to broaden its product portfolio to 14 categories and 100 models – making it easier for every Thai household to enjoy the comfort, convenience and peace of mind that define the company’s Life’s Good promise.

LG Subscribe is redefining home living across Asia through flexibility, care and innovation. Whether through Singapore’s engaging in-store experiences or Thailand’s nationwide growth, we continue to show how our commitment to convenience and comfort makes Life’s Good – every day, everywhere.

As president of the LG Vehicle Solution (VS) Company, IAA Mobility 2025 gave me the opportunity to present our vision to a global audience. I had the privilege of sharing the stage with Chris Jo, senior vice president and head of LG’s webOS Platform Business Center, along with our partners from Xbox and Zoom. Together, we are defining what it takes to transform the car into a true living space on wheels.

LG Automotive Content Platform: Driving the Future of In-Cabin Connectivity
As Chris Jo highlighted, we have extended webOS – trusted across 240 million devices worldwide – into vehicles with our webOS-based Automotive Content Platform (ACP). This enables automakers to deliver rich multimedia experiences such as OTT streaming, cloud gaming and video conferencing on a global scale. With full UI/UX customization and new revenue opportunities, the webOS platform is moving beyond the living room and shaping the future of the mobility ecosystem.
Xbox: Cloud Gaming Hits the Road
For Xbox, this partnership is an exciting moment, finding a new way to bring the joy of gaming to more people. Chris Lee, Vice President of Marketing at Xbox, noted the challenge of bringing the Xbox experience from TVs into cars, particularly around performance and seamless integration.

By leveraging our ACP, Xbox delivers a quality in-car gaming experience via its popular cloud gaming service, while LG manages the essential integration and certification work. This means passengers can access the same trusted Xbox Cloud Gaming service wherever they travel – during a charging stop or long road trip. Chris described it as making the journey “not only more entertaining but supporting the flexibility players expect from Xbox,” and I believe this underscores the true value of collaboration.
      Zoom: Meetings on Wheels
Brendan Ittelson, Chief Ecosystem Officer at Zoom, spoke about creating a consistent collaboration experience across different vehicles – a vision that naturally aligns with ours. By integrating directly with our webOS-based ACP, Zoom can deliver updates and improvements as soon as they’re ready without waiting on OEM software cycles.

Drivers can join meetings safely in voice-only mode, and passengers can attend camera-enabled video calls, while Zoom AI Companion automatically captures summaries and action items in the background. As Brendan explained, “The in-cabin experience is quickly shifting from passive to purposeful,” becoming a place where people can stay connected and productive without sacrificing safety.

Affectionate Intelligence for the Road Ahead
Looking at the bigger picture, the future of in-vehicle innovation will be shaped by AI – what we call “Affectionate Intelligence” – that not only understands users but also seamlessly integrates functions for safety, entertainment, communication and comfort. To transform vehicles into true extensions of living spaces, LG must take on the role of orchestrator, working closely with our content partners and automakers to create a genuinely human-centered mobility ecosystem.

My key takeaway from the panel was that each of us – LG, Xbox and Zoom – brings distinct strengths to the table. Xbox is taking a bold step into automotive gaming, Zoom is working to redefine productivity on the move and LG is driving toward an AI-powered mobility ecosystem. Guided by these shared goals, the path forward is clear.
With webOS at the core and trusted partners by our side, we are accelerating platform-driven growth in mobility. The future of the car won’t just be about transportation – it will be about creating experiences that connect, entertain and empower us wherever the road leads.
