SEOUL, Apr. 6, 2021 — LG Electronics (LG) is commencing the worldwide rollout of the 2021 LG Soundbar lineup, with new models delivering a more premium audio experience, versatility and convenient control while upping the ante with eco-consciousness designs and packaging. The new lineup offers high-quality audio, easy connectivity, smart functionality and stylish aesthetics with a modern look that are designed to complement LG’s stunning TVs and works well with any décor.

New for this year, the company’s soundbars allow users to take advantage of LG TV’s AI Sound Pro feature. Audio from the TV is played through the soundbar via TV Sound Mode Share, delivering the superior audio processing power of AI Sound Pro on the more capable speakers of the new soundbars. LG’s soundbars now offer all of the same sound modes as its latest TVs, allowing users to easily switch between the soundbar and the TV using the TV remote.

The 2021 lineup is compatible with multiple voice assistants including Google Assistant, Amazon Alexa and Siri.1 Now it’s easier than ever to control devices and play one’s favorite music from compatible device and services. And with support for Apple AirPlay 2, customers can stream, control, and share their favorite music and other content directly from their iPhone, iPad or Mac.

When it comes to performance, LG’s 2021 soundbars inherit all the strengths of their predecessors with many of the new models featuring Meridian Audio tuning and Meridian technology, when in Music Mode for an exceptionally authentic listening experience. A new feature, Meridian Horizon technology, is the result of LG’s long-term partnership with Meridian Audio.2 This innovation up-mixes two channel stereo content into immersive, multichannel audio to provide audiences with a truly immersive listening experience regardless of their position or location in the room.

All the 2021 soundbars from LG support Dolby Atmos and DTS:X for dynamic three-dimensional audio. With Dolby Vision compatibility via 4K pass-through, the new models ensure the level of picture and sound quality needed for genuinely cinematic home viewing. LG’s soundbars also combine up-firing front height channels with wireless rear up-firing height channels to envelop users in lush, textured sound.

Many of the new models are Hi-Res Audio certified, insuring lossless playback at 24bit/96kHz with all the vibrancy and nuance of the original studio recording. Upgraded user convenience and easy connectivity are built into the 2021 LG Soundbar lineup with HDMI eARC support enabling a higher bitrate, high resolution content and uncompressed Dolby Atmos® audio with just one cable, while USB playback and Bluetooth streaming offer more convenient ways for users to enjoy their favorite audio content on the latest models.

LG’s sophisticated AI features further elevate the user experience. AI Room Calibration offers optimal sound in any environment, using spatial awareness technology to measure a room’s dimensions then customizing the soundbar’s audio settings in accordance with the specific characteristics of the space. AI Sound Pro uses adaptive sound control to automatically adjust frequency range and sound field extension, depending on which genre of content the user is watching: news, music or cinema.

While the importance of home entertainment has grown in the era of social distancing, so has concern for the environment and consumer support for companies and products that demonstrate a genuine commitment to sustainability. From production processes to the materials and packaging used, LG’s latest soundbars are designed with the health of the planet in mind.

In its effort toward a sustainable future, LG is taking a more eco-minded approach to product development, packaging and shipping of its 2021 soundbars, designing the first audio products in the industry to receive SGS Eco Product Certification. For many soundbar model cases LG replaced materials used in previous models with recycled materials, one model featuring jersey fabric made of recycled PET bottles.3 Certified as Global Recycled Standard-compliant and UL environmental claim validated, each SP7Y soundbar means almost seven fewer plastic bottles occupying landfills.

To reduce environmental impact and waste even further, LG adopted friendlier packaging for its entire soundbar lineup. Using mainly recycled molded pulp and far less EPS foam and plastic, the packaging has earning Eco Product certification from Societe Generale de Surveillance (SGS), a respected provider of testing, inspection and certification services based in Geneva, Switzerland.4 To receive this designation, the soundbars were deemed by SGS to have minimal environmental impact as they emit less air pollutants, contain few hazardous substances and provide a high degree of recyclability. What’s more, the packaging is designed in an “L” shape so more units can fit in fewer trucks, which means lower CO2 emissions, a crucial part of achieving environmental sustainability.

New LG Soundbar models including SP11RA, SP9YA, SP8YA, SP7Y and SPD7Y will begin rolling out starting this month in key markets in Europe and North America, with additional models coming later this year.

      Hi All,

i’ve got an OLED 55C1 with webOS 6.0 and a service remote in South America.

I’ve been able to find working area codes for almost all regions using the service remote based on previous posts and tables.

Of most use to me were:
Brazil: 26895 (local DTV transmission settings) /22800 (BR/US DTV transmission settings)
      US: 1843 / 1793 / 22287
      UK/EU/Turkey: 3122
      AU Australia: 767
      JP Japan: 23439
I’ve also found working codes for China (CN), Taiwan (TW), Hog Kong (HK), Philippines (PH), Australia, NZ & South Asia incl. India (AJ), certain African and Middle Eastern countries (JA or JA ME IL regions: note Israel is not an option even though IL appears in the code) , Canada (CA), Mexico (MX), Panama and Central America (PA), Ecuador (EC), Colombia (CO), Peru (PE), Chile (CL), and Argentina (AR).
      Notably absent were working codes for;
      Israel (IL)
      Korea (KR)
Russia and CIS countries (RU CIS)
      Eastern Europe (ETC?)
Does anyone know the working area option service codes for these countries?
I am mostly interested in working IL and KR codes.

      thank you so much!

Just purchased this and the set up is driving me nuts. I have a Sony reciever that I use for my audio out as well as HDMI device switching. The output of the reciever is going to HDMI 1. The TV audio out is set to HDMI (ARC) device.  When watching devices directly connected to the reciever (cable box, roku, DVD, Tivo), audio out is fine. If I try switching to the smart menu or the antenna, there is no audio going from the TV back to the reciever. I also have a Roku I can use for streaming, but not for OTA.  Should I just route everything directly into the TV, and use the optical out to get sound to the reciever? Also since setting up the TV and remote there is strange interaction btween the TV and the reciever. I noticed that my cable box, dvd, and roku all show up devices attached to HDMI 1, and clicking on that device will change the input on the reciever, but I have no control over the reciever from the LG remote, volume and muting buttons have no effect. Also there soesn't seem to be anyway to control my Fios cable box, a Motorola HD QIp 7100-1. I have the IR blaster sitting right next to it

Organizational Moves to Consolidate Company’s Capabilities to Create
Differentiated Customer Value, Accelerate Future Growth Engines

SEOUL, Nov. 24, 2022 — LG Electronics (LG) today announced organizational changes designed to bolster its preparedness for the future. The changes are being implemented primarily to accelerate the company’s future growth engines and enhance its ability to create differentiated customer value and experiences.
A key piece of LG’s forward-looking strategy is the establishment of the Corporate Customer Experience (CX) Center, which will report directly to LG’s headquarters. The CX Center will be led by executive vice president, Lee Chul-bae, who previously served as head of the Corporate Design Management Center. The main role of the CX Center will be to create a seamless and expanded customer experience. It will also develop strategies and roadmaps to foster greater innovation at every stage of the customer experience journey from product planning and customer service to future business models.
The CX Center will also encompass the CX Strategy Division, which will be charged with the discovery and promotion of company-wide goals and core tasks, and the LSR Customer Research Center, formerly the Life Soft Research (LSR) Lab.
LG’s Platform Business Center will play a new role in integrating and organizing LG ThinQ services, responsibilities that were previously distributed across corporate and business headquarters. Established in July 2021, the Platform Business Center has been leading the creation of LG’s fandom based on data. Moving forward, the Center will be headed by LG’s vice president, Jung Ki-hyun, who joined the company in September this year. Jung has had a distinguished career with roles at eBay Korea and Google as well as acting as the CEO of Meta Korea.
In 2023 and beyond, LG will continue to focus on improving supply chain management (SCM) and augmenting its already-strong Digital Transformation (DX) capabilities. To this end, the company’s Procurement and SCM Management Center has been renamed the Global Operation Center, with the functions and roles of the Production Planning Division transferred from the Production Engineering Research Institute. The Global Operation Center will create synergies across the company’s operations – such as production, purchasing and SCM – through promoting improvements based on DX technologies.
Aiming to spur further growth through improved organizational performance, LG will strengthen its agile and responsive decision-making system across all four business units.
Lyu Jae-cheol, head of the Home Appliance & Air Solution (H&A) Company, has been promoted to president in recognition of his success in improving H&A’s performance and product portfolio. An expert in his field, Lyu has worked in various areas of LG’s home appliance business since 1989, including in the R&D and production departments.
Eun Seok-hyun, head of the Vehicle component Solutions (VS) Company, was promoted to vice president. Under his leadership, LG’s vehicle component solutions business has achieved operational stability with an improved profit and loss structure, and has constructed a strong business portfolio encompassing several key future mobility technologies.
Another of the newly-announced changes, the H&A Company’s “Living Appliance Business’ and “Kitchen Appliance Business” will become the “Living Solution Business” and “Kitchen Solution Business,” respectively. The renaming aligns with LG’s renewed focus on customer experience innovation and points to the greater emphasis the company is placing on the expansion of content and services.
The Home Entertainment (HE) Company is set to increase its capacity to create customer value by establishing the Indonesia Research and Development Division under the HE R&D Lab Institute to enhance collaboration between overseas R&D and manufacturing bases.
The VS Company aims to strengthen its capabilities in purchasing, producing and SCM by establishing an operation group that manages the integrated operation of the electric vehicle component business.
The Business Solutions (BS) Company set up a new EV Charger Business Division directly under the company to accelerate the full-fledged development of EV charging solution business that was launched last year.
All appointments are effective Dec. 1 with promotions going into effect on the first day of the new year.

      Hello all,
I recently got a soundbar for my LG TV and have it connected with HDMI ARC on HDMI 2 I do my TV watching with a Firestick. I have this weird issue where if I switch apps on my Firestick using one of the buttons that go to an app, or (sometimes) using voice commands, the switches to the HDMI 2 input.  If I choose the app from the menu, it works fine.
I have no clue why how I start an app makes a difference, but is there a way to set the TV to ignore HDMI when it comes to automatically switching inputs?  I looked through the settings and thought I figured it out when I turned off instant game response on HDMI 2, but the switch is still happening.
