Hot Star app not working

sumukh A

Question

Hi ...I have an LG 43" 4K smart tv and recently I noticed that Hotstar app is not working. Whenever I open the app it's just buffering and no content is appearing on screen.

Can someone tell me what the issue would be. Also if they can help that would be great.

TIA

@sumukh A First, please post the full model number of the TV. Secondly, please post what other streaming apps you use on that TV, and if they have the same issue (for example YouTube, or Voot, or ZEE5).  Also, are you using a LAN (Ethernet) Cable to connect your TV to the Internet, or WiFi. If WiFi, is that the 2.4GHz or 5GHz band?

If 5GHz, place a phone near the TV, and see what the signal strength "arc" icon looks like. If only a few "arc" lines there, it may be weak WiFi. If you can log into your router, go to WiFi  -> advanced settings, and look to see what channel within the 5GHz band you are using. Try channel 36 or 44 (some TV models do not work well with higher channel numbers over 100).

We have a 65UM7300AUE with software version 05.40.10. We have a Google TV dongle plugged into the HDMI 1 port and that is the input we use most of the time. Until recently every time we would turn the TV on it would default to HDMI 1 and the Google TV home screen would be the first thing we’d see. Life was good. Several weeks ago that changed and now the LG OS (I assume) home screen is the first thing we see. Then we have to use the LG remote to select HDMI 1 each time. We never used to have to do this or use the LG remote at all. Kind of annoying. We think we have HDMI 1 chosen as our default input but it doesn’t seem to matter. Any ideas on how we get things back to the way they used to be with the TV defaulting to HDMI 1 automatically?

I have a NANO91ANA LG TV connected via HDMI to a Yamaha RX-V677 Receiver. Normally when I turn the TV on it also turns the receiver on and I can control volume via the LG remote, whether it is an app on the TV or from another device connected to my receiver (Apple TV or cable box). Now the receiver is not turning on and ARC audio is not working. I think there may have been a software update the other day, but I'm not sure. However, everything was working properly until last night. The last time this happened it seemed to correct itself (it seems to be kind of sporadic), but this time it did not. I do not know what to do to correct this, but it is a major pain as I'm now having to deal with 4 remotes, plus I can't get sound out of my surround speakers when using an app on the TV.  Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Need to check My OTT App memory management and consumption on the app launch itself.

I have an LG C1 55 connected to a Denon x2100w AVR on HDMI 2 (arc)... It always worked perfectly... After the latest TV upgrade I can't get anymore TV audio on the AVR.
I tried disconnecting and reconnecting everything, unplugging stuff for minutes, switching multiple hdmi sources... The AVR can send data to the TV, but it doesn't see TV audio signal.
All the HDMI audio settings on the TV are greyed out and disabled.
Next thing I'll try to reset to factory defaults, but I suspect it won't fix anything...
Note this worked flawlessly for 2 years.
      Ideas are welcome.

      Hi Team,
After update of LG WebOS to 04.40.70, Amazon Prime Video app on my LG Smart TV stopped working. It started giving error :
      Internet Connectivity Problem
There is an internet connection problem. Check the device's internet settings, data cables, or try to resetting your router. Also, turning your device off, and then back on might fix the problem. For further assistance, please contact Amazon customer service at www.amazon.com/videohelp
The internet/wifi connection is fine and all the other apps are working without any issue on the LG smart TV.
I have even tried uninstalling and reinstalling the Prime video app, but that didn't help.
Has anyone faced this issue ? Is there a solution available for this issue.
      Thanks & Regards,
      Nitin
