Getting ARC HDMI to work permanently with Arcam SA30

Question

Getting ARC HDMI to work permanently with Arcam SA30

I am trying to get the HDMI ARC to work from LG OLED55B6V to Arcam SA30.
I can do this by removing all other HDMI cables from the TV and then configuring to work. This is OK for some time, but then going back to it means going through the whole process again.
Does anyone know of a way to set this up permanently?

@Derekc You do not describe exactly what the issue is, BUT the HDMI-CEC (called "Simplink" in the LG TV), can cause odd issues, and you can turn it off for some, or all of the HDMI ports (depending on the model). You would of course lose any "auto-power-on or off" functionality for the TV/AMP pair (as I am suggesting you try the ARC port first).

Another thing that can cause odd HDMI functionality failures, is low spec cables, so try to find which device, when connected one at a time, might be causing the issue when re-connecting, then check the cable has the actual spec printed on the cable jacket (1.4B, 2.0 etc) and should also state if 4K compatible.  I tried to use an old unknown one for one of my devices on my 4K TV a while back, and it caused all sorts of odd flickering and sound drop-out issues on the TV until I changed it.  Try to ensure the cables are all the same spec (ideally all 2.0).

That's what I was trying to do, but couldn't see how to.  Would you be good enough to let me know how.

The issue is that once configured to work, after a while the connection is no longer there and I have to repeat the whole procedure.

@Derekc Try this:: open the general Settings menu, or open the Quick Settings menu and then navigate to the Advanced Settings icon at the bottom of the menu. On some remotes, you might need to press the SETTINGS button for 5 seconds. On some models Simplink can be seen in the "General" section under settings.

If turning off Simplink  does not rectify the issue, try turning off the "QuickStart+" setting, then unplug the TV from power  for 5 minutes, then test your issue again. There have been reports of "odd" issues with the Quick Start active on some models.

Hi .  Thanks for this.

What I was trying to do was to switch off Simplink per input.  That was triggered by your reference in the first reply.

On a completely unrelated issue, every time I switch on the TV I get the WEBOS banner across the bottom of the screen.  Is there any way to disable this?

Up until a few days ago my TV and AVR have been working perfectly since I bought it.
Zero hassles with HDMI and connectivity.
Then I was prompted to update to the latest software version which I did and now often when I switch HDMI (running on 1) it picks up the device name, CEC works but I get “No Signal”… and then nothing.
Just stays on “No Signal”. It is almost as if some HDMI handshake breaks and now the driver is in a broken state.
I’ve found that if I hard power off and power on the device sometimes works but I don’t want to do that every time especially since it’s hard to get to the power.
This really strikes me as a software issue with the latest update as absolutely nothing else has changed in my setup.
      I’ve tried:
Different HDMI cables (high quality) Deep colour settings Reset the TV to factory default Different HDMI ports TV
      Model: OLED65G26LA / OLED65G26LA.HFBQLWK WebOS TV Version: 8.3.0.2301 Software Version: 13.30.56 AVR & Devices
Marantz SR5015 Nvidia Shield Pro PS5
The setup is the conventional AVR installation as shown in the attached file

      Has anyone else experienced this?
Is it possible to revert the software update?

The youtube app on WebOS has a gear icon that's labeled "settings", used to toggle the speed normally to 1.25x, 1.5x, etc. It stopped working about 3 days ago, when clicking on the gear icon nothing happens. I've hard reset the tv, ive deleted and reinstalled youtube app, tried messing with DNS. nothing works. Seems to be a bug, likely a result of some update in backend, should be trivial to fix. But tried calling LG about it and went nowhere with their help desk.

      Hello,
I have a problem with my new LG OLED G2 newest version 4 firmware.
I tried sorting my satellite channels with chansort programm from github, because sorting them with the tv remote is a pain.
When I try to sort them with the remote and have selected about 10 or more channels all the selected channels get suddenly getting deselected, so I can only select up to 10 at a time  to
sort them -> must be some kind of firmwarebug?
After exporting the channellist to a usb stick then editing it with chansort an importing it back into the tv all my channels are gone, all transponderns are deleted.
First I thought it was a charsort problem but all channels and transponders get also deleted when I simply export them to a usb drive an import them back, without editing the file at all.
Does someone know how to fix this problem?
And yes I´ve done multiple factory resets -> did not fix any of this behaviour.
I also discoverd another bug the deletes all channels, because I needed to reboot the tv I searched for a reboot option in the tvs menu, but there is no reboot option.
To do a full reboot (except from forcing it through cutting the tvs power) you can deselect the privicy agreements, after that the tv reboots, but then all channels are gone too.

My magic remote and my Roku remote stopped working for turning off power so I performed a factory reset after troubleshooting to get the remote working.  I am now stuck at the 1st screen of the Factory Reset which says "Press the OK Button(wheel) on your remote."  Well... this really stinks because the remote doesn't work!!!  I have tried a USB mouse, a new magic remote, other LG Remotes with no luck.  I have also tried using the button on the bottom of the tv.  And, I contacted support which was just an exercise in redoing everything I had already tried... No Luck!!
This is a Nano Cell 55NANO81ANA which is basically just a big brick now since I cannot even use any of the inputs.  Does anyone have a trick for getting past this initial screen???
      Thanks for the help.
