Why do you want to disable HDR?
Xstream box functions in HDR mode only with HDR TVs. Although the non HDR content(tv channels) will display as non HDR (SDR) and HDR content ( from netflix and prime) as HDR.

TV will always indicate it is receiving an HDR signal for all content.

Hi all, I have this 4K LG 49UF772V TV which has had this issue since I bought it second hand and I'm wondering if anyone has any idea how it can be fixed as I am looking to sell it.

The issue: On the LG menu and main home screen + sub menus and programs such as Netflix, there are black squares all over the display which makes it impossible to use. However, the TV works flawlessly when using the display with a HDMI device connected.

I suspect this could be either a software issue since there's no physical defects with the display itself. The TV has the latest software update running (04.06.25). I've attempted to reflash it and downgrade it but I haven't managed to find a way to do it.

Also note that only 1 of the 3 HDMI ports work. The other two gives no output when a device is connected.

I have also carried out a factory reset and this has not made a difference.

I have attached a short video showing the TV connected to chromecast and the display working as expected and then pressing the settings button yields artifacts/small black squares. + some pictures showing this.

      Thank you in advance!

With an Integrated NFT Market Place and Offering Safe, Secure Payment, LG Art Lab
Provides Compelling, New Way to Enjoy and Trade Digital Art on LG’s Premium TVs

SEOUL, Sep. 5, 2022 — LG Electronics (LG) has launched its very own non-fungible token (NFT) platform, LG Art Lab. Now available in the U.S. on the company’s TVs running webOS 5.0 or later, and accessible directly from the Home Screen, the new platform enables users to buy, sell and enjoy high-quality digital artwork. Delivering outstanding picture quality and offering several, large screen sizes to choose from, LG’s state-of-the-art TVs are the perfect medium for displaying one’s NFT collection.
A convenient, one-stop solution for viewing and trading NFTs at home, the platform includes the LG Art Lab Drops feature, which profiles artists and previews new works coming soon to the platform. Meanwhile, the real-time Live Drops countdown ensures users never miss an opportunity to acquire a ‘just dropped’ NFT.
LG’s new platform, based on the Hedera network, the most used, sustainable, enterprise-grade public ledger for the decentralized economy, makes buying and selling as simple as possible, incorporating onscreen QR codes that let users quickly complete transactions via Wallypto – the company’s crypto-currency wallet for smartphones. Once purchased, an NFT can be traded on LG Art Lab Marketplace, where users can easily view transaction history, while in My Collection they can admire all of their owned artworks. When displayed on the cinematic, 16:9 aspect ratio screens of LG’s TVs, NFTs come fully to life – especially on the company’s OLED TVs, which leverage self-lit pixels to deliver infinite contrast, inky blacks and exceptional color accuracy.
A treat for fans of contemporary art, LG Art Lab welcomes the first-ever digital artwork from well-known sculptor Barry X Ball. Famous for reinterpreting classical and modernist sculptures using the latest 3D scanning and printing technologies, as well as traditional techniques, Barry X Ball is now making his exciting debut in the world of NFT art with unique ‘Metal’ series digital works. The first of these NFT masterpieces, which perfectly capture all the textures, details and materials – including precious metals and gemstones – used in the artist’s remarkable sculptures, will be available via the platform’s LG Art Lab Drops feature in the next weeks, with “Stone” series and other artists’ works to be added on a monthly basis.
With their immaculate picture quality and stylish, minimalist aesthetic, LG’s next-gen TVs have featured in several high-profile events on the art world calendar, including the recently-held Frieze Seoul.

As the title sort of says, whenever I rename the HDMI inputs on my new TV, they seem to reset at random. Sometime's they've reset when the TV is put on standby mode for several hours. Other times, I've noticed they've reset while the TV is still being used. I always end up renaming them in the morning, and eventually, they've reset themselves back to HDMI 1 (Xbox One X) and HDMI 2 (Elgato Capture).
Sometimes, only 1 of the names reset. Other times, they both reset.
Does anyone have any ideas as to why the names keep resetting? TV off or on, it doesn't seem to matter. Any help would be great!
      Please and thank you!

One of the major trends in consumer electronics, the ‘personalized user experience’ is something LG TV owners get to enjoy every day thanks to the abundance of convenient, customizable features and lifestyle services accessible via LG’s webOS platform.
Since its launch in 2014, webOS has continued to evolve, offering increased functionality, services and options with each new update and version release. The latest webOS UI makes 2021 and 2022 LG TVs the ultimate home entertainment hubs – able to provide an ever-growing number of lifestyle apps, easier access to recommendations with the newly launched Life’s Good Hub and seamless mobile integration with effortless content mirroring.

Revamped to help users navigate the expansive list of services on offer, the new webOS Home Screen now includes the Life’s Good Hub section, where users can discover some of the latest lifestyle apps at the press of a button. The lifestyle section provides a curated selection of up to fifteen apps centered on improving a specific aspect of life at home, such as fitness, wellbeing or staying connected. A real time-saver, the new feature enables users to find services suited to their unique tastes and preferences, ‘handpicking’ the most relevant apps from the approximately 2,200 currently available* on the LG webOS platform.
Another important consideration for today’s users is the mobile experience and cross-device compatibility. LG’s ThinQ app has been updated to make it easier to mirror content from mobile devices to LG TVs. Users will enjoy being able to switch from watching on their mobile to watching on the TV when playing content from a range of different sources, including major streaming services, LG Channels and LG Fitness.

The new lifestyle content that LG continues to bring to the webOS platform shows that the company understands and appreciates the ways in which consumers’ needs and lifestyles have changed in recent times. Take RemoteMeeting, for example: an easy-to-use video conferencing solution designed with the growing ranks of remote workers – and those wanting to catch up with friends and family in other places – in mind. Setting up the app on LG TV is fast and simple as it doesn’t require connection to a laptop or PC. From August 5, users signing up to RemoteMeeting will receive a free, 6-month membership, no matter where in the world they call home.

In an uncertain world, self-care is just as important as connecting with others, and for that LG’s latest TVs support apps such as Insight Timer. The popular meditation app is engineered to help users combat anxiety, stress and poor-quality sleep through an array of uplifting and relaxing content and wellness tools. LG 2021 and 2022 TV owners can enjoy Insight Timer free for 12-months, granting them access to 150,000 guided meditations, soothing music tracks and more.

Fitness is a key component of achieving personal wellbeing, too, which is why LG’s latest TVs offer several apps that can help users turn their living rooms into private workout studios. 305 Fitness, which features invigorating dance workouts with music from a live DJ and popular subscription workout apps such as MaxPro, Fiit TV and Flexit, will be arriving later this year.

Additionally, LG’s webOS 22-powered TVs will soon be welcoming the hotly-anticipated IDOLLIVE app. A dream come true for the world’s legions of K-pop fans, the app lets users stream a plethora of compelling K-pop content, including live performances, exclusive interviews and music videos, and offers subtitles in five different languages (English, Japanese, Indonesian, Mandarin and Thai).
With an intuitive UI and a growing library of apps and services spanning entertainment, smart home management as well as personal growth and wellbeing, LG TVs with webOS continue to redefine the ‘personalized user experience’ and deliver a better life at home to consumers worldwide.

      With Freshness-Enhancing Technologies, and Efficiency,
LG’s New Fridge Ready to Wow European Market

SEOUL, Aug. 22, 2022 — LG Electronics (LG) is unveiling its latest bottom-freezer refrigerator for the European market at IFA 2022. The new model delivers a more sustainable kitchen with LG’s energy-saving Inverter Linear Compressor, an upgraded internal compartment and the company’s cutting-edge ‘freshness’ technologies, including LinearCooling and DoorCooling+.
LG’s bottom-freezer fridge boasts an ‘A’ energy rating, the highest rating possible under the European Commission’s strict energy standards system.1 In order to earn the ‘A’ rating, LG improved the structure of the refrigerator’s condenser and heat exchanger, and enhanced the airflow path to achieve a more efficient and even delivery of cold air throughout the fridge.
LG’s new fridge also employs the incredibly efficient and highly durable Inverter Linear Compressor. Thanks to the company’s remarkable compressor, the bottom freezer offers a 10 percent reduction in annual energy consumption compared to other LG refrigerator models with an A energy rating – helping consumers to shrink their household energy footprint and save on electricity bills.2
Additionally, the high-performance, new model comes with LG’s freshness-enhancing technologies – LinearCooling and DoorCooling+. LinearCooling reduces temperature variations,3 which helps to keep food items fresh for longer period of time,4 while DoorCooling+ sends out cold air from the top of the refrigerator compartment to hard-to-reach areas like the front door basket.
For a convenient user experience, the new bottom freezer refrigerator can be remotely controlled and monitored via the LG ThinQ app for smartphones, letting users manage settings and check operational status from practically any location.
Further convenience is presented by the fridge’s 2-step Folding Shelf and Wine Rack, the former can fold away to accommodate larger items whenever needed, while the latter can hold up to five bottles of wine at once. What’s more, the new model provides an instant style upgrade with the application of LG’s Metal Fresh finish to its interior.
“The new bottom freezer fridge leverages LG’s state-of-the-art technologies to keep food market-fresh while also delivering superb energy efficiency and a host of user-friendly features,” said Lyu Jae-cheol, president of the LG Electronics Home Appliance & Air Solution Company. “Designed with sustainability in mind, and to provide a better kitchen experience, our new refrigerator offers the performance, convenience and style that the European market demands.”
Visitors to LG’s booth (Hall 18, Messe Berlin) at IFA 2022 from September 2-6 will have the opportunity to check out the stunning bottom-freezer refrigerator in matte-black finish, along with a host of other innovations for a better life.

1 The European Commission revised its home appliances energy rating standards in March, 2021. As part of this, a new energy label ratings system was introduced, with ratings running from A to G instead of the previous scale of A+++ to D. ( link hidden, please login to view)
2 Based on the household refrigeration/freezer energy consumption test results according to IEC 62552 test standard. Annual energy consumption of LG’s new bottom-freezer is 99KWh, whereas the annual energy consumption of conventional LG’s bottom freezer is 110kh.
3 Based on UL test results using LG’s internal testing method, comparing average peak-to-peak temperature fluctuation in the fresh food compartment between LG refrigerator models Bottom Freezer GBB72NSDFN (±0.5C°), on no load and normal temperature setting. Results may vary in actual usage.
4 Based on UL test results using LG’s internal testing method measuring the time required for Bok Choy stored in the fresh food compartment of LG refrigerator model GBB72NSDFN to decrease in weight by five percent. Results may vary in actual usage.
