Cannot play mp3 from phone to smart TV

Question

Posted

Hi
I am trying to stream and display my favorite song collections on a smart TV, all failed. I had previously used samsung s3 to connect via bluetooth, but when i used iphone x to connect, the system reported an incompatible error. Can someone tell me why the connection was not successful? Here are the songs I want to play on my TV:

Thanks in advance :)

It is possible that your smart TV model is too old, so it is not compatible with your phone. Try the play function via the Youtube app. What about

If it is the matter of iPhone, you can try to have a software update on your iPhone. Or you can fix the iOS system by the

, which can resolve 50+ iOS issues. While if it is the matter of TV, then you can ask related professionals for help.

@Bogan Silver FYI: be VERY careful clicking links on this (or ANY) forum, if you do not know exactly where they go, or if you do NOT have a good anti-virus and anti-malware program running. Some of the things I see here look VERY suspicious. DO NOT take any chances, as the other posts on here DO NOT appear to be giving you any considered/logical advice or answers, so DO NOT click the links.

Bluetooth has various connection standards/protocols, and it is a bit of a minefield for old/new device compatibility, and pairing methods, and security layers.  It may be a bit clunky and inconvenient, but you may be better off by preparing a USB stick with your songs/videos, off a laptop or PC, then plugging into your TV. The Smartshare APP and built-in player should be able to play them.

Other solutions involve DLNA servers (e.g. NAS disks, with PLEX or similar on your home network), and using LG Smartshare or PLEX TV to get them played on your TV.

I know this was mentioned before. I'd like to support this.
WebOS is such a great and versatile system; a real media centre. BUT: I have a number of video files that it simply doesn't play. VLC, e.g. does, but is not available.
To me it is such a pity that I have to have a system in parallel (actually a PC!) to play those files, with VLC, and then switch to HDMI to watch the clips on my TV. This doesn't look very much like 2026, as far as I am concerned.
To give an example, in which nothing is spectacular, and yet it doesn't play:

Better yet: add something like VLC or at least Dragon. Make it available; even if the warranty was void, I'd prefer to load such an application.
      Thanks for pondering!
