Add support for more Codecs

Hi everyone,

I wish LG would consider updating their Codecs list or at least give us a way of installing this codecs in our TV manually. i know my TV is capable of playing a lot of stuff but i'm always stuck with "not supported" for most of the media i have.

One of the most wished stuff i'd love to see is

Added support for H.264 10bit (still very popular and used a lot)

as well as Opus codecs (its a Free codec and its getting a lot use recently especially with H.265 MKV videos)

Like i said, please add this codecs and more or at least give us a way of doing it ourselves. i know there might be legal issues and some codecs are payed, so just let us install it ourselves instead.

Thanks.

Absolutely agree. I've been having trouble with this so much that i started watching stuff on my Tablet instead of using my brand new TV! :( Come on LG, add support for more Codecs it's never bad to have more support, never. it's actually always good.

Lg sucks big time. Cannot update features on TV, webos won't update for 3 year old tvs. All my products have been lg. Not supporting them anymore for the lack of respect to their customers. Just bought a new Phillips android tv. Amazing and very customizable. Bye LG.

Same as someone above said - hate to see that my over 10yr old dust-covered samsung plays more videos than brand new shiny LG B9 65''...it is so sad.

There is also problem with mkv files with subtitles and large (4k) videos ...these can be seen but not searched or moved fast-forward or backward...

It would be great to have these things fixed...

It seems that the latest version of the WebOS browser on LG Smart TV's lacks the support for Javascript modules (ES6).

It is unprofessional on part of LG TV that they do not resolve the basic issue of adding app gCmob in their app store.
My 50UT80506LA LG WebOs TV does not support my office security camera system via wifi to TV.  We need (gCmob app) in list of app.
I can't connect my office camera via Wi-Fi to LG-TV. No body in LG TV technical team is proactive in resolving the issue of customer. They are more happy to befool the customers, rather than looking for technical solution through wider thinking.
Please talk to you top management and make a visit to our office to understand the customers plight..
      Please respond to customers needs.
