      The sales person in showroom pushed for LG saying it has better sound and picture richness. But obviously didn't reveal big shortcomings of non-android smart TV in today's ecosystem. This is useless as you are not having freedom to install apps of your choice from playstore. I can't even get Sonyliv. Horrible OS. Now I am trapped for years after buying this TV. Don't buy LG or other non-android TV unless you can affford to throw it in weeks. When will LG grow up?

      I bought LG smart tv. for some reason region selected was Africa and could only choose from african countries and had very little available apps in content store. I live in Georgia, so figured that  changing region to EU would help so changed it to 3122 and selected service country UK because Georgia was not in the list. after that every app says that it is not available in current country. I have  default region code saved so I guess could go back but wondering if any one can help me to get it working in EU. or if anyone have region code in which Georgia is available it will be helpful as well.

      In this installment of On the Job, we go inside LG’s Air Science Research Center to get a close and personal look at how researchers are helping to bring better air quality to the home.
      What do smoke detectors, smart doorbells and security systems all have in common? They are all ways to make our homes safer. But few consumers think about the safety of the air we breathe at home. Clean air is more important to our health and wellbeing today, with people and families spending more time at home than before social distancing became the status quo. But cooking, cleaning, heating and pets all affect the air we breathe. Consider nearby construction activity, the changing of seasons and passing cars and there are even more factors outside of our control that affect family health. With this in mind, LG is investing even more in research to increase its technological capabilities and to better understand the science behind indoor air quality.

      Established in 2018, the LG Air Science Research Center in Seoul is dedicated to the research and development of next-generation core technologies for use in the company’s air care products including air purifiers, air conditioners and dehumidifiers. By analyzing the properties of dust particles, toxic gases and microorganisms that accumulate under different conditions, the lab’s researchers are able to develop more effective methods of cleaning and making the air throughout the home safer for its occupants to breathe.
      The Air Science Research Center is divided into three main sections: Home Environment Test Facility, Microorganism Test Facility and Dust and Odor Test Facility. In the Home Environment Test Facility, researchers recreate real-life environments to assess the effectiveness of new air care technologies. The facility houses an enclosed area where the ceiling height and floor space can be adjusted to mimic the interior dimensions of various buildings, from small apartments to large commercial spaces.

      The Microorganism Test Facility is where the performance of LG’s air purifiers are put to the test. Here, various microorganisms are dispersed and the effectiveness of each air purifier model’s performance is recorded. At the Dust and Odor Test Facility, the speed and efficacy of the company’s advanced filters on fine dust is measured by introducing dust or gas particles into a sealed test space. The deodorizing capability of LG’s air quality technologies is also tested here. In recognition of its high standards and reliability of its methodology, the LG Air Science Research Center was officially accredited as a national microbiological and fine dust tester by the Korea Laboratory Accreditation Scheme (KOLAS) this February.

      “To help create a better home environment as most of the world was sheltering at home, we introduced PuriCare Air Purifier with special features for coping with pet hair and odors,” said Noh Jin-hee, a specialist at the Air Science Research Center. “We visited pet shops, pet cafes and homes to study the air conditions which we captured as data. We analyzed and used the information to develop the most effective filter and filtration settings for managing the air when living with furry companions.”

      To expand the knowledge base and refine research methods related to indoor air quality, LG cooperates and shares its information with other experts and specialists in related fields. Through the efforts of its dedicated researchers and investment in a world-class R&D and testing facility, LG is better able to live up to its reputation as a global air care solution provider to create a more comfortable, pleasant and healthier home for both consumers and their four-legged friends.

The LG Rollable smartphone made an appearance at CES, briefly demonstrating its unique resizable screen. Virtual Experience offers an interactive exhibit with four different product zones, which LG SIGNATURE in Vegas is a stunning showcase that pairs the wonders of Las Vegas with LG SIGNATURE’s artistically inspired appliances. Visitors to Life’s Good Studio can enjoy fun musical collaborations with some of the recording industry’s up-and-coming artists.
      The Virtual Experience’s TV and AV Zone plays host to the impressive sights and unrivaled picture quality of the OLED Fall display, a wall of flexible OLED screens that greets all guests. Here, visitors can learn all about LG OLED’s core strengths – “4S” for sharp, swift, smooth and slim – via a special, interactive presentation that leverages extended reality (XR) and augmented reality (AR) technology. A 3D avatar of tech influencer, Linus Sebastian, will be on hand to act as a guide and bring a human element to LG’s showcase at the first-ever all-virtual CES.
      The Home Cinema Zone features LG MAGNIT, LG’s 163-inch large screen Micro LED signage, which delivers deeper black and improved contrast and color accuracy with LG’s Black Coating technology. Guests can fully immerse themselves and enjoy the benefits of Micro LED viewing lively content in realistic extended reality (XR).

      LG Business Solutions’ exhibit features advanced consumer products, highlighted by the IT Zone. In this zone, visitors can experience personal devices that enhance productivity and deliver immersive content across four virtual environments, including a home office and a gaming room.
      And finally, Mobile Zone provides an opportunity to get to know LG’s newest mobile innovations, including the swiveling, dual-display LG WING smartphone. Things have been pretty quiet on that front in the intervening month, but last night WebOS Ports developer took to Twitter to share screenshots of the progress they've made since. In short, it's Preware, but built with Enyo. It installs homebrew apps from the webOS Nation Homebrew Gallery and WebOS Internals' own feeds, just as you'd expect. The difference is that by being built with Enyo 2 the app now has a more flexible layout. Typical of the Enyo user interface is the display of multiple columns, with a list of apps on the left side and the selected app's info on the right.
      Overall it looks to operate in a similar manner to the Preware we know and love, though Palmer did note that right now Preware 2 will only support Enyo apps on Open webOS installs, as or . That's not to say that Preware 2 can't support PDK-based apps, an IPK is an IPK is an IPK, after all, and older version sof webOS will support PDK and hybrid app installs just fine. Prompted by former webOS developer relations employee , Palmer pondered that in Preware 2, conceivably enabling a user to continue browsing apps while installing apps. Consider that more a possibility for future releases, .
      Thanks to its Enyo 2-based status, installation of Preware 2 on varying webOS hardware shouldn't be an issue. Even on older webOS smartphones, the Enyo 2 framework can be packaged with the app at a size under 25KB while still giving cross-platform compatibility and speed. For his part, Palmer's screenshots were taken on a TouchPad running webOS 3.x.
      Preware 2 is still in pre-alpha stages and not publicly released, though once they're far enough along the app will be released into . When that will happen… well, WebOS Ports is very clear on their ETA policy: - when it's ready, it's ready.
