How to move screen captures from Olympics on my LG TV to anywhere else?

catodici

Question

Hello,

I've googled for the answer to this question but could not find it.

I have a new LG WebOS TV  (LG OLED65E6P).   I've figured out how to take screen captures of the Olympics. :D

Now I'd like to move the TV screen captures off the TV to my iPhone, or  Android,  or a Windows laptop.

Any idea how to do this?

Featuring a 21:9 Aspect Ratio Screen, LG’s Latest Smart Monitor Is Perfect
      for Productivity and Entertainment

SEOUL, July 24, 2024 — LG Electronics (LG) is launching its latest LG MyView Smart Monitor (model 34SR65QC),1 a 34-inch display with a unique form factor and a range of features for better productivity and entertainment experiences. This marks the company’s first smart monitor featuring a curved, 21:9 aspect ratio UltraWide screen, offering an expansive desktop display solution for customers seeking improved workflow, enhanced viewing immersion or both.
The newly-released LG MyView Smart Monitor boasts a 34-inch WQHD (3,440 x 1,440) resolution2 VA panel, delivering 300 nits of brightness, a wide viewing angle and 99 percent coverage of the sRGB color gamut. These specifications, combined with the screen’s 21:9 format, make the LG MyView an excellent ‘side-by-side’ desktop companion for office workers, developers and other digital professionals.
The 34SR65QC facilitates greater work efficiency courtesy of its elongated, high-resolution display, useful screen-organization features and support for various home-office apps. The 21:9 UltraWide display provides additional screen-space, allowing users to keep multiple tabs and windows open at the same time and arrange them optimally using the built-in Screen Split function. What’s more, users can take advantage of apps such as mail, online document editors and cloud storage directly on the monitor without having to connect to a PC or laptop. The extra width of the 34SR65QC enables users to operate productivity apps in full screen (16:9) mode and still have enough room for helpful generative AI tools, which can be conveniently pinned to the right-hand part of the display in a smaller-sized (5:9) window.
The 34SR65QC is also ideal for those seeking a movie theater-like experience at home. Its UltraWide display allows users to enjoy 21:9 content as it was meant to be seen, eliminating the letter-boxing needed to preserve the aspect ratio on conventional 16:9 monitors. This new model is the first in the LG MyView lineup to allow the streaming of video captured in the 21:9 format, bringing a cinematic feel to broadcast content and giving users a real sense of being part of the action.
Like all LG MyView Smart Monitors, the 34SR65QC comes equipped with the LG webOS platform, which provides access to a wide range of content services including Netflix, YouTube and Prime Video, along with personalized viewing recommendations and intuitive navigation. For even more superb content options, users can head to LG Channels – LG’s free, premium content service – and browse more than 300 channels3 spanning categories such as movies, news, sports, drama and children’s programming. Additionally, with AirPlay 24 and ScreenShare5 support, users can stream or mirror content from their smartphones, enjoying all their go-to mobile apps and games on the monitor’s large, curved screen.
The 34SR65QC comes with a handy remote that provides basic functions such as power and volume control. It is also compatible with the LG Magic Remote,6 which delivers user-friendly features such as AI Concierge and one-touch access to popular streaming services including Netflix, Prime Video and Disney+. The AI Concierge, activated by pressing the Magic Remote’s microphone button, recognizes different voices and recommends content based on each user’s viewing history.
Furthermore, once LG MyView Smart Monitor has been connected to the LG ThinQ smart home platform, the ThinQ app can transform the user’s smartphone into a remote offering both touch- and voice-control capabilities. For additional convenience, users can manage monitor settings and navigate and search webOS using a keyboard and mouse.
“By expanding the LG MyView Smart Monitor lineup with our new 34-inch curved UltraWide model, we are providing consumers with a comprehensive productivity and entertainment solution,” said YS Lee, vice president and head of the IT business unit of LG Business Solutions Company. “We will continue to introduce versatile smart monitors that combine innovative designs with premium performance and practical features.”
LG MyView Smart Monitor is launching globally starting in the U.S and Korea in August, with availability in other markets to follow soon after.

2 Wide Quad High Definition resolution.
3 Channel and program availability on LG Channels may differ by region.

In the fourth episode of our ‘Customers at Heart’ series, we dive into how LG US has boosted customer satisfaction by revamping its refund system through the Online Brand Shop (OBS).
Imagine purchasing a brand-new washing machine or refrigerator, only to have it malfunction unexpectedly with no feasible repair options. Even with a full refund, such an experience can leave a sour taste. To rectify this, LG US initiated a collaborative project aimed at overhauling the refund process to enhance the customer experience. Six teams – the North America Strategy Team, DXP OX Team, DXP TDI Team, Service Corporation Call Center Team, Service Corporation Planning Team and the North American Accounting Team – voluntarily joined forces to develop a more efficient and customer-centric refund system.

The initiative targeted customers whose products had malfunctioned under the warranty period but were unable to receive a repaire due to discontinued parts or other impracticalities. To provide alternatives to a one-time cash payout, the company sought ways to retain customers and encourage future purchases by introducing rewards through the OBS of LG US, the official website where customers in the US can directly purchase products online.

Analyzing core customer grievances, the company endeavored to reform the existing cash refund policy for an easy and more pleasant process. To foster a positive customer experience, LG US developed MyLG Rewards, an OBS rewards program that offers a 110 percent points refund and encourages customers to actively use the points through a convenient and user-friendly system.
The company took proactive action to identify potential issues of the new OBS refund policy, monitoring real cases to finalize the best possible IT asset monetization process. LG US also implemented specialized training for call center staff and expanded operations to improve the overall customer experience and get ahead of any issues that could arise from the new system.

After the introduction of MyLG Rewards, the company conducted regular surveys targeting customers who received refunds. These surveys aimed to gauge customer satisfaction, track the likelihood of repurchasing LG products and monitor the frequency and duration of OBS visits. In addition to analyzing the percentage of refund customers who became new OBS members, the company also examined when customers used OBS points as well as any additional purchases made through the system.
As of October 2023, the survey results indicated high customer satisfaction, with those who utilized MyLG Rewards rating the process an average of 4.7 out of 5, compared to a 3.3 rating from refund customers in general. Customers who used MyLG Rewards also expressed a higher propensity to repurchase from the brand, with 71 percent stating they would buy LG products again, compared to 50 percent by refund customers in general.
Overall, approximately 40 percent of refund customers shared that they have regained trust in the LG brand after the introduction of the OBS point system. Those who used OBS for the first time reportedly visited the shop more frequently and for longer periods of time, and 64 percent of customers made additional payments through OBS even after using up their points.

The success of the LG US initiative has prompted expansion plans to LG Canada within the year and the launch of an OBS membership program that will offer differentiated benefits based on OBS points and membership tiers. The company has also rolled out the LG Referral Program, which enables customers to earn rewards by referring friends and family.
Through these initiatives, LG US has revolutionized the customer experience for those seeking refunds, ensuring that these customers continue their ownership experience (OX) journey with the OBS rewards system.

I've seen an older thread on this topic but it doesn't look like anyone found a solution to disabling the screen saver, so I'll try a new one.
On virtually all my LG TV's (I have three OLED's and two LCD), the screen saver interferes with my music app (like Plex, Spotify or Amazon Music). I mainly use Plex for playback of my music which is stored on a central server (NAS) and from the app loaded on a Fire TV stick or cube. After about 20-30 minutes, the album art and other related music information (lyrics, song title, duration, etc) all goes black. If I run Plex (or Spotify) directly on the LG TV via the LG Content store app, the screen saver with fireworks always comes on in about 2 minutes.
I've tried all the different methods to disable the screen saver function including turning off the Timers, Auto Power Off,  HDD Storage, etc. I also tried opening the hidden menus by pressing the mute button 5 times but that menu didn't have anything relevant.
Interesting is that the screen saver doesn't come on when using Spotify on a Fire TV stick or if I playback music through a USB device. But i don't use those methods often, mainly Plex to access my music server where I have about 500 CD's stored in ALAC format.
Has anyone found a way to disable the screen saver function? I know the logic for having it (to prevent OLED burn in) but I'm not leaving the same image on for more than the song duration (about 3-5 minutes).  It's annoying to check the screen for the a music title or see who is on only to find a black screen looking back. Thanks for any help.

      Hello there,
Is it possible to turn off search on the home screen, or filter results to show only apps? Ideally, I'd like to limit content to be appropriate for kids.
