Hi all, hoping for some expert help.
TV: LG 65QNED86T6A.ADKFLJD (Russia-market unit, now in Iran), S/W 33.31.68.01 (webOS25), 2024 build.
Location settings only show CIS/Russian-speaking countries.
Using an original Factory SVC Remocon (WK-17226), both IN START and ADJ (code 0413) lead to the same SVC menu.
Current Area Option values: Area Code 3638 / Continent Index 54 / Language&Country CS / HW Settings EU.
I've tried entering various Area Option codes (adjacent blocks 3712/3840/3968, and legacy ME/CIS codes from older webOS threads) — all rejected with an error. Continent Index / Language&Country / HW Settings appear to be read-only/derived fields, not directly editable.
Has anyone successfully changed the Area Option on a 2024-model webOS25 QNED TV? Any known working codes or is this generation's SVC menu fully locked without RTOOL/GSDF access?

It is unprofessional on part of LG TV that they do not resolve the basic issue of adding app gCmob in their app store.
My 50UT80506LA LG WebOs TV does not support my office security camera system via wifi to TV. We need (gCmob app) in list of app.
I can't connect my office camera via Wi-Fi to LG-TV. No body in LG TV technical team is proactive in resolving the issue of customer. They are more happy to befool the customers, rather than looking for technical solution through wider thinking.
Please talk to you top management and make a visit to our office to understand the customers plight..
Please respond to customers needs.

So basically I just got a new LG OLED TV (55 inch C5) and my Dad's C4 was seemingly able to display internal or embedded subtitles in TV shows through the built-in media player from external USB storage just fine with some tinkering in the menus.
But with mine, the subtitles are displaying all of the raw text in the subtitle files in the player, not using the arguments properly at all.
Pictures included for reference
Is there any way to fix this other than literally doing subtitles for every episode externally, in a seperate file?
These subtitles work fine when I play from the exact same storage device on my phone through VLC, and again on my Dad's LG TV

As a former Apple Developer I have very clear ideas on what is needed to have a clean and efficient Home Media Theater.
The WebOs porting on LG TV's is brilliant, yet it has to develop it's full potential.
As a worklist, maybe while waiting to become a devoleper myself, I write down first the basic needs for the final user who has a collection of movies/tv shows/personal videos sotred on a home network, either on NAS or on shares on various computers.
- Organization of Media: the initial intuition of the DLNA protocol is still valid: Video, Photo and Audio are three distinct starting point. Either via DLNA or SMB or other protocols users should be allowed to browse they're media collection elegantly, either readings text list, or with thumbnails. Folder structure should be easy to access.
- For Video: Audio selection; one very basic and yet difficult to manage thing is the ability to choose and change on the fly the audio track in a movie
- For Video: Subtitle selection: as above
The actual SmartShare fails in every single step of this basic list: it does not allow you to choose display mode (list, thumbnails, maetadata, etc), it does not allow you to change audio (it works on USB, not on shares) and it does not allow you to show subtitles, not even the embedded ones.
I know there are fierce limitations in the DLNA protocol but.......
The final user experience in the Era of XBMC Gotham cannot be such as proposed today on LG top tv's.......
Do you need a hand in developing smart share? Any plan to upgrade it? Any plan to develop a non-DLNA client, maybe a SMB client or a PLEX client?
Why not get in touch with XBMC community? It could save years.......
