This tip should work on any devices running webOS 2.0 and higher

Application database almost fullIf you have been a victim of the "Application database is full" error on your webOS device, you know what a devastating issue this can be. If you have not seen this error, consider yourself lucky. The "application database" that is referenced here is not the

on your device, but rather the internal database that was introduced in webOS 2.0 that manages a lot of data on your device. And if it gets full, there is no place to store any more data. You may get some advance warnings that will tell you to try deleting calendar entries, and even trying remove music, movies or documents from your USB drive, but most likely none of that will work and you will eventually be alerted that the database is full and you need to restart your device. And unfortunately, it doesn't make it clear that it will essentially perform an "erase apps and data" and log you out of your profile, requiring you to reactivate your device and log back in, also losing your application data and settings.  And to add insult to injury, you may log back in to your profile and still get that error once you activate it again.

Although there is no official fix from Palm/HP on this, you can always count on the homebrew community to get your back. In this case, it's Donald Kirker, webOS developer and former Intern for both HP and Palm. The problem stems from the fact that the internal partition that the database is saved to is only 135 MB big so it doesn't take a lot of data to fill this up. Donald's solution is to increase this partition by reducing the space available on the USB drive. To ensure that you don't run into this issue again, we will show you how you can extend this partition by 512 MB, but you can adjust that number up or down as needed. But be warned, you are messing around the underlying Operating System here and can cause some major problems on your device if something goes awry . You will also need to have Novacom installed on your computer and be familiar with using the Command Line. If you don’t have the webOS SDK installed on your computer to access the command line, you can always use webOS Quick Install and select "Tools" and then "Linux Commandline" to get access to it. Note that this is has only been tested on a Pre3 (including by this writer), but should work on any webOS 2.x device and possibly the TouchPad. However, before performing any actions, , both on your USB as well as any application data by using .

      Hi,

I'm not sure its the right place but at any case i will describe my issue here and maybe you will be able to help:
Recently I bought a a TV and a sound bar, and i have some issue from the moment i get the TV.
TV model - LG 55LB679Y with latest firmware version i have at my country (Israel) - 04.30.16
      SoundBar - LG NB4540
the TV connected to sound bar by "wireless simplink" feature 'LG TV' and TV connected to My Wireless router.
every 5 - 15 minutes, i have sound drops / Cutoff / stooped / Interruption, seem like the TV loose connection to sound-bar for few seconds or something similar, it's happen from any AV source im using HDMI, USB...
and the local re-seller replace the sound-bar to a new one (same modal off course) and i didn't help.
i have try to troubleshot the problem in the last few weeks - but didn't succeed to solve it, and also the support / costumer service didn't have solution for this.

some steps i take when troubleshot this issue:
      * different wireless configuration on router -  different channels, SSID, Security - issue still persist.
      * another wireless router - issue still persist.
      * working with optical cable to sound bar - just for testing - working ok, but i need the wireless feature working this the reason i bought sound bar and TV from the same manufacturer.
      * disconnect the TV from wireless network - looks like it's working ok, but didn't had chance to test it for long time.

from my point of view looks like it's issue with wireless device on TV not able to to work in parallel with soundbar and wireless network for some reason, It could be caused bysoftware issue on WebOS or Hardware issue with this TV model.

I really hope you be able to help me or throw some light on this case.

      Kind regards,
      Matan

I have an Onkyo TX-NR6050 connected to a LG OLED77C2PUA using a high speed HDMI cable.

When the TV is tuned on the Onkyo comes out of stand-by mode. The volume control on the LG remote is able to raise and lower volume control on the receiver.  The LG has a connection to the Onkyo but the LG is not passing any data.
If the receiver is out of stand by mode (by either turning the receiver on first or turning the TV on --> off --> on) then there is a data connection and sound can be heard.
The issue seems to be in the timing of the handshake between the two devices. The LG has no problem turning on the onkyo but whether the data connection is established is based on the receiver being out of stand by mode first.
I tried everything found on line from changing HDMI connection type form Auto, PCM, and pass through. I have tried disabling the quick start from LG setup.
It is very annoying considering the amount of money invested into a setup that is suppose to be eARC 2.1.  I should not have to use the home theater remote.
      Any ideas?

Good evening everyone, Since yesterday I have a problem that is driving me crazy. I have the smart TV in question and I can practically no longer see any content from any platform except YouTube, let me explain. If I open Netflix I see everything correctly but when I launch any content the TV loads up to 20-25% then gives me an error stating that that content cannot be played. Same problem with Disney+, the app tries to load any video then gives me an error, try again, same thing with Amazon prime. Basically only YouTube works. I'll list what I did: - Fully updated TV, fully updated apps - I unplugged and waited, nothing - I reset to factory settings, nothing - I changed 3 different networks, two wifi and one wired, changed 3 different DNs, inserted manual IPs, put back DHCP, nothing - I uninstalled and reinstalled the apps, nothing. The network works because the TV runs all the tests and is connected stably to my fiber. It's a problem that not even LG support can tell me about. I don't know what to do anymore, all that remains is to think of a firmware/hardware problem. Can you give me some advice? Thank you Roberto

I just purchased the LG UHD 43UP76 advertised as real 4k however the YouTube App is running at 1080p.  Which means 4k content is downsampled to 1080p then reupsampled to fit the 4k pixel grid and the image quality is awful.
i assume WebOS runs at 1080p and simply upscales to 4k on low end 4k TVs, this same with high end TVs??
