Every year, Design Week Mexico brings together top architects and interior designers to reimagine one of the country’s historic homes into the “Design House” – turning staid spaces into stunning showcases of sophistication and style. For 2025, both we (LG) and our ultra-premium built-in kitchen appliance brand, SKS, were named the exclusive home appliance brand partners for this landmark exhibition.
Under the theme of “Korean Precision with Mexican Soul,” we presented an elegant, real-world demonstration of how the warmth of Mexican craftsmanship can harmonize with our stylish, technology-driven solutions. Each space reflected our belief that thoughtful innovation can elevate modern design and meaningfully enhance how people live.
A Journey Where Design Meets Technology
Design House lies at the heart of Design Week Mexico, uniting creative talent to reinterpret everyday spaces. This year, we collaborated with four celebrated Mexican designers – Sebastián Ángeles, Guillermo Hernández, Juan José Nemer and Victoria Plascencia – to reimagine a traditional home through fresh artistic expression and future-ready livability.
Each finished room told its own compelling story with the common thread of “design meeting technology” woven throughout the entire house, and the sublime blend of Mexico’s rich cultural heritage and LG’s cutting-edge innovation visible in every space.
Reinterpreting the Bathroom: Ancient Rituals Meet Modern Wellness
Designer
link hidden, please login to view transformed the bathroom into a contemporary Temazcal – a modern tribute to the traditional Mesoamerican sweat lodge used for purification and healing. His immersive installation blended light, sound and scent to evoke a sense of renewal. At the center stood LG Styler, symbolizing purification while adding contemporary sophistication to the space. “LG Styler is an innovative object that lets people refresh their clothes and feelings without any worries about odors or allergens,” said Ángeles.
The result was a seamless balance of pre-Hispanic aesthetics and futuristic minimalism, reshaping the bathroom into a personal sanctuary where wellness and premium design coexist.
Redefining Everyday Chores: The Laundry Room as a Space of Joy
With his signature mosaic craftsmanship, reimagined the laundry room as an uplifting, design-driven environment. His reinterpretation encouraged visitors to reconsider laundry as not just a task, but a space that can spark delight.
At the center of the concept was the LG WashTower, whose unified washer-dryer configuration saves space while delivering intuitive convenience. “The LG WashTower served as the centerpiece, helping to turn what is so often a neglected corner of the home into an uplifting place that people genuinely enjoy spending time in,” Hernández noted.
Through refined geometric inspiration and a calming color palette, the once-ordinary laundry area became a modern, functional and aesthetically enriched space. At the same time, the WashTower features an all-in-one configuration combining a washer and dryer stacked together, efficiently saving space for practical use.
Connecting Tradition and Modernity: The Kitchen as the Heart of the Home
Under the direction of Juan José Nemer, the kitchen served as an inspired bridge between Mexico’s heritage and the vibrancy of its contemporary lifestyle. Drawing on the concept of Casa Piedra, the space merged future-focused technology with a rich sense of nostalgia, creating an ideal environment for warm family moments and entertaining guests.
SKS built-in appliances, including the latest refrigerator and oven, feature minimalist exterior panels and refined finishes that contribute to a seamless and elevated kitchen interior. Its captivating design inspired the aesthetics of the whole kitchen space, inviting visitors to see, touch and interact with the SKS products in person.
“Frequently, there’s a moment of surprise when you open the door of an SKS product, as people often don’t realize they’ve been looking straight at an appliance the whole time,” said Nemer, noting the subtlety of SKS’s design, and the seamlessness with which each appliance blends in with the rest of the kitchen.
A Place to Connect: SKS “Aura Space” on the Terrace
On the Design House terrace, Victoria Plascencia’s Aura Space offered a serene setting for gatherings, reflecting the growing importance of outdoor areas as natural extensions of the home. Equipped with the SKS wine cellar and SKS dishwasher, the terrace demonstrated how performance and aesthetics can coexist beautifully.
The SKS wine cellar, capable of storing up to 113 bottles across three temperature zones, allowed Aura Space guests to enjoy premium wine and a memorable lifestyle experience, while the SKS dishwasher delivered optimal cleaning performance adapted to local water conditions – all within a sleek, minimalist design that added to the space’s ambiance and appeal.
Through this collaboration with Mexico’s design community, we reaffirmed our role as a lifestyle trend leader and our commitment to delivering solutions for a Better Life for All. LG and SKS home appliances stand not only as high-performance tools, but as design-forward companions that enrich everyday living and seamlessly complement modern spaces.

At LG Electronics, Better Life for All is more than a corporate vision or tagline – it’s a guiding principle that shapes everything we create. Central to our inclusive vision is a belief in universal design: the philosophy of crafting products and experiences to deliver convenience and comfort for everyone, regardless of age, gender or physical ability.
Committed to this philosophy, LG aims to go beyond functional innovation to provide unique lifestyle solutions that truly put people first. A deep understanding of our customers and the diverse environments in which they live is essential to this endeavor, which is why listening to the voice of the customer is such an integral part of our design process.
We have established systems to directly integrate real user feedback, especially from those with limited mobility – and seniors and children – into the product development stage. This includes operating an advisory group of people with disabilities and conducting in-depth usability testing. Both of these elements have proven instrumental in helping us to identify and minimize even the smallest points of user discomfort.
Designing with Empathy, Delivering with Purpose
Design at LG has always been about more than aesthetics. It’s about innovating with empathy to ensure usability, ease and enjoyment for all. For us, universal design is not just an outcome, but a mindset shared by all our teams – one that infuses human-centeredness into every decision, no matter how minor or inconsequential it may seem to someone looking in from the outside. From the first concept sketch to the final product experience, we view every touchpoint as an opportunity to make someone’s daily life simpler, safer and more enjoyable.
This approach requires us to design with people rather than for them. It challenges our teams to think beyond convention, to question what “easy to use” truly means and to continuously refine our technology to better meet and adapt to real human needs. When empathy is woven into the design process itself, innovation follows naturally. That is how we translate inclusivity from principle to practice.
Turning Philosophy into Practice: The Comfort Kit
Putting this philosophy into action, we launched the Comfort Kit – a series of affixable assistive kits designed to allow anyone to use our products easily, regardless of their gender, age or physical condition.
Some examples:
Easy Handle: Enables users with limited hand mobility to open washers and dryers with minimal effort.
Easy Ball: Helps those with reduced finger dexterity to manipulate control dials with ease.
Easy Hanger: Allows people using wheelchairs, or those who are shorter than average, to interact comfortably with the LG Styler.
Rotating Shelf: Improves refrigerator usability by making it easier to access hard-to-reach items. We have presented inclusive design solutions that improve the usability of existing products, becoming the first in the home appliance industry to introduce 14 accessibility-enhancing kits. These Comfort Kit series, designed to remove the “one-size-fits-some” barrier that many customers have long faced, are also sustainably manufactured – reflecting our commitment to protecting the planet.
Recognition Beyond Design
Our efforts have not gone unnoticed. Globally, we are recognized as a model company for inclusive design.
We’ve shared our accessibility technologies and design philosophy at forums such as the CSUN Assistive Technology Conference, where the Comfort Kit series was welcomed by both consumers and organizations advocating for underrepresented communities.
We also showcased this work at important global exhibitions such as IFA and CES. Our dedication to good design earned us the “Design Awards Grand Slam” – winning top honors at all three major global design awards, Red Dot, iF, and IDEA.
These accolades matter to us, but more importantly, they reflect our deep conviction that inclusive design is not just a feature – it’s a responsibility.
Designing for a Better Tomorrow
For us at LG, realizing the Better Life for All vision means creating unique products and experiences that feel right for everyone, and can be enjoyed by anyone. We will continue to advance accessibility so that all customers can take advantage of everything that our products and services have to offer. No caveats or compromises, only convenience and comfort.

At LG, we are committed to nurturing expertise, collaboration and innovation in the heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) industry. As part of this commitment, we continue to create opportunities for professionals around the world to learn, share knowledge and grow together. Earlier this month, we welcomed 14 of Brazil’s leading HVAC installers to South Korea for the LG Brazil Installer HVAC Academy.
Designed to strengthen participants’ technical capabilities and reinforce our partnership network, the program combined hands-on learning with site visits and in-depth technical sessions. Participants also had the chance to present their own case studies and explore how LG’s advanced, eco-conscious HVAC solutions are shaping a smarter, more sustainable future.
The Academy began with a visit to a local reference site showcasing LG’s latest residential air conditioning systems. The visit offered participants a close-up look at how our technologies are applied in real-world settings to deliver comfort, energy efficiency and reliability.
The following day, experts from Hi-M Solutek – an LG subsidiary specializing in total HVAC services including maintenance, engineering and building management – led an immersive seminar. The session explored advanced installation methods and shared best-practice cases from across South Korea’s HVAC industry.
Brazilian participants also took the stage to present their own successful installation projects, sharing valuable insights and field expertise that sparked meaningful exchanges with peers and LG engineers alike.
The program concluded with a visit to LG Smart Park in Changwon, our world-class manufacturing site for residential and commercial air conditioners. Attendees toured the state-of-the-art HVAC showroom and participated in a dynamic Q&A session with LG’s product development team – discussing future innovations, trends and the evolving role of smart, sustainable technologies in HVAC.
The LG Brazil Installer HVAC Academy is part of our broader effort to foster collaboration and continuous learning across the global HVAC community. Alongside this initiative, we’ve hosted a series of HVAC Leaders’ Summit events for consultants from Asia, Africa and the Middle East. Most recently, in July 2025, we brought together 30 leading consultants from Central and South America in Panama for a regional summit focused on innovation and partnership.
Under our Global South growth strategy, we will continue to expand our programs aimed at strengthening long-term partnerships with HVAC consultants and installers – empowering them to deliver smarter, more efficient solutions to customers while enhancing the reputation and reach of LG HVAC.

This year’s IFA in Berlin may be over, but LG’s booth left a lasting impression. Under the theme AI Appliances Orchestra, we presented our comprehensive vision for the future of home living – a future where LG ThinQ AI enables everyday appliances to seamlessly connect, adapt and evolve to make your life better.
At the core of it all was LG AI Home – a connected suite of appliances and services powered by our unique Affectionate Intelligence. Designed with European lifestyles in mind, LG AI Home is a fully integrated system where products communicate with each other to improve performance, save time and energy, and provide you with the personalized care and comfort you deserve.
Key elements of LG ThinQ AI include ThinQ UP, which lets you customize your appliances with features that fit your needs, and ThinQ Care, which delivers proactive maintenance to help keep your devices running at their best. This empathetic AI elevates home life by putting your happiness – and the health of the planet – first, prioritizing convenience and sustainability at every turn.
The LG booth was divided into several discrete zones, each showing a different aspect of our AI Home vision. The Hero Zone, located at the booth entrance, served as the centerpiece – illustrating how our appliances work together like an orchestra, with ThinQ AI as the conductor, bringing harmony to your home.
In the Fit & Max Zone, we recreated European-style living spaces to show how effortlessly our innovations can fit into real homes. Perfect for compact spaces, the lineup included kitchen and living solutions designed to save space while maximizing capacity – like our new refrigerator with a Zero Clearance Hinge.
The AI Core Tech Zone highlighted the advanced AI technologies behind our latest Better Life innovations. In laundry, we introduced the AI-driven HeatPump WasherDryer, delivering a complete wash-and-dry cycle with an “A” energy rating. Features such as AI Wash senses fabric type and weight, while specialized cycles help reduce the amount of microplastics shed by clothing during washing, protecting both you and the water supply.
Over in the AI Home Zone, visitors saw LG AI Home in action through real-life scenarios. Live demonstrations made clear the many benefits of our smart ThinQ ON-powered ecosystem, where you can use voice commands, automated routines and personalized settings to create the home lifestyle you’ve always dreamed of.
We also introduced Spielraum, our AI mobility solution that extends the smart home into vehicles, resulting in a seamless, connected experience that lets you take the comforts of home on the road with you.
Vacuum cleaning solutions were another highlight of our IFA showcase. The new generation of vacuum cleaners we revealed included smarter robot vacuums, a built-in docking station with automated capabilities
The LG innovations displayed at IFA 2025 also reflected our continued focus on personalization and energy efficiency; two of the most important considerations for customers seeking to buy new home solutions, both in Europe and around the world.
Our commitment to sustainability was recognized at the first-ever IFA Innovation Awards, where we received multiple honors in the home appliance category for our AI-powered living solutions.
For those who managed to visit our IFA booth, either in person or online, the takeaway was clear: LG is actively redefining the role of home appliances. No longer just tools for getting chores done, they are fast becoming intuitive partners that help people to live smarter, more comfortably and more sustainably.
As IFA showed, Life’s Good right now, and with LG taking the lead, it’s only going to get better.
