Milan Design Week, the world’s largest and most well-known design and furniture fair, is a mecca for the aesthetically-inclined. At this year’s event, the biennially-held EuroCucina exhibition put the spotlight on the latest trends in kitchen appliances and furnishings, with many of the industry’s major players taking part. A regular at Milan Design Week, LG delivered a stunning showcase of premium built-in kitchen appliances at a booth designed by GamFratesi, the acclaimed architecture and design studio co-founded by Italian Enrico Fratesi and Denmark’s Stine Gam.

To highlight both the ultra-premium Signature Kitchen Suite and LG’s built-in appliance lineups, the diverse range of built-in products on display clearly reflected the companys dedication to promoting an inspired culinary lifestyle centered around the joy of sharing and savoring quality food.

“One particularly memorable episode during our collaboration with LG was the differentiation strategy for Signature Kitchen Suite and LG built-in appliances,” said GamFratesi. “This differentiation strategy was well reflected in the booth design.”

The coming together of Signature Kitchen Suite’s True to Food philosophy – founded on the importance of preserving the original flavors of fresh ingredients – and GamFratesi’s design ethos revealed a new vision for kitchen design. LG’s emphasis on quality natural ingredients was echoed by the natural materials and design elements incorporated into the exhibition booth itself, which also reflected the impact of environment and culture on different cuisine traditions. GamFratesi’s subtle use of wood and stone accentuated the beauty of the natural world while simultaneously drawing attention to the connection we form with the planet when cooking and consuming real food.

“The key points to pay attention to are the design of each island and the materials used,” noted GamFratesi. “Each island represents an independent piece of furniture that reflects our design aesthetic.”

Within the booth’s Signature Kitchen Suite zones, GamFratesi complemented the built-in brand’s gorgeous kitchen appliances with natural materials and finishings. Each display kitchen represented a seamless harmony of appliances, cabinetry, counters and décor, highlighting the transformative power of design to create special sanctuaries that celebrate authentic cooking and nature’s beauty.

Evocative, entertaining, yet entirely elegant, the Signature Kitchen Suite wine cellar zone made a lasting impression on visitors to LG’s booth. Here, GamFratesi drew inspiration from the wine-maturation process to craft a calm, almost-meditative space with a ‘cave-like’ sense of depth and a rich, atmospheric mood.

Although the synergy between LG’s built-in appliances and GamFratesi’s kitchen designs is undeniable, the process of smoothly integrating the two for the Milan Design Week showcase was not without challenges. However, through the thoughtful and purposeful placement of appliances with distinct functionalities, and via the introduction of LG’s panel-ready concept, the two innovative companies achieved the ultimate union of form and function. The results, as one can see from the images, speak for themselves.

Through the unprecedented fusion of design, technology and space, the compelling collaboration between LG and GamFratesi presented a new kind of value and a refined kitchen lifestyle. As demonstrated at Milan Design Week, and at other major exhibitions around the world, LG is committed to partnering with like-minded innovators who share its passion for pushing boundaries and elevating everyday life.

Since 2011, LG has been running the LG Hope Screen program under its ESG direction of Better Life for All, raising public awareness of serious social and environmental issues. Public service videos produced by international organizations and non-governmental organizations (NGOs) were able to catch the eyes of many by being displayed on LG’s billboards in the high-traffic pedestrian areas in two of the world’s most popular cities – New York’s iconic Times Square and London’s Piccadilly Circus.

In celebration of World Food Day (October 16), LG once again aired a campaign video  on its outdoor billboards between October 9-22. World Food Day is celebrated annually to honor the founding of the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), a specialized agency to raise public awareness regarding global food shortages and efforts to address them.

The campaign video was produced by FAO under the theme, “Water is life. Water is food. Leave no one behind,” inspiring people to work together to end hunger. It aims to remind viewers of the value of water, an essential element for life and food, and to encourage people to put more thought and effort into water usage and conservation for a more sustainable future.

Previously, through the LG Hope Screen program, the company actively showed its support for the UNEP and World Environment Day by playing

As a global corporate citizen, LG actively took part in campaigns to solve global social and environmental issues, including world hunger. LG India partnered with the Akshaya Patra Foundation to provide lunch to around 33,000 students in 11 states across the country since last year. Meanwhile, to donate 120 refrigerator-freezers for food storage to 60 campuses in the United States, offering meals to 500,000 college students suffering from malnutrition.
In line with its ESG vision of Better Life for All, LG will continuously operate the LG Hope Screen program to raise awareness in public interest campaigns at a global level.

Starting off the new year with the world’s most exciting, influential tech show, CES returned to an in-person affair with a bang after two years of coming to you in online and hybrid formats. And by gathering companies from around the world under one roof to present their most innovative products and solutions to date, it turned out to be the biggest and best edition of the trade show where we can get a first glimpse at the future of technology.

This year, based on the idea that the answer is always with the customer, LG presented the meaning behind its ‘Life’s Good’ vision by demonstrating how its latest and greatest products and technologies enhance their quality of life and take the user experience to unimaginable levels.

Upon entering the LG booth, visitors passed through the company’s latest gigantic OLED installation, which has become the must-see attraction at every CES event of the last decade.

To celebrate the 10th anniversary of LG OLED, this year’s OLED attractor, OLED Horizon, comprised 260 flexible and open-frame 55-inch OLED displays which enabled it to take on a new, completely captivating shape inspired by revolutionary OLED’s historic legacy as much as its expansive future.

Greeting visitors inside the booth were four ultra-large LG SIGNATURE OLED M (model M3) TVs seamlessly put together to display the most mesmerizing images as they appeared to float in mid-air, untethered by wires or cables. The world’s first 4K 120Hz TV with a wireless AV connection, M3 employs a separate Zero Connect box that enables the wireless transmitting of video and audio signals as well as connections to external devices, affording users a simpler installation process and even more freedom when designing the interior of their dream home.

Another great new OLED innovation on display at CES this year, the LG OLED T is just as much a work of art as it is a display, thanks to a beautiful combination of glass, wood and revolutionary transparent screen technology.

Featuring a wireless AV connection and the ability to see through its high-resolution screen, even when in use, the LG OLED T provides a multi-mix of reality and fantasy that harmonizes on-screen content with physical objects or spaces to create the content of the future.

The LG space was also home to other new OLED TVs, like the LG Micro LED model that delivers unprecedented cinematic viewing experiences courtesy of its massive 136-inch 4K resolution screen and rapid 120Hz refresh rate. With a modular design that makes installation and set-up quick and easy, each tile connects wirelessly to eliminate the hassle of arranging multiple cables. Just a few meters away, the ultra-premium LG SIGNATURE OLED 8K TV (model 88Z3) delivered CES attendees the realistic visuals that must be seen to be believed through the detailed, razor-sharp image quality that its giant 88-inch display supports.

Visitors could also discover how LG OLED TVs synchronize with people’s unique lifestyles and tastes, with a special room that utilized the company’s 97-inch LG OLED M, LG Soundbar (model S95QR) and projection displays to illustrate a new, incredibly immersive multi-screen experience as well as a look into the multi-sensory possibilities of today and tomorrow.

The power of OLED was not limited to the company’s TVs either. Equipped with the world’s first 240Hz OLED panel, LG’s latest premium UltraGear gaming monitors – in new 27- and 45-inch sizes – deliver a record-breaking response time of 0.03 milliseconds (Gray-to-Gray). With an immersion-enhancing 800R curvature, the show-stopping 45-inch model harnesses the immense potential of OLED with a 240Hz refresh rate that guarantees total gaming immersion every time.

Also celebrating 10 years since the first gram was introduced to the world, LG marked the occasion by revealing two 2023 LG gram models at CES. The thinnest gram ever made, LG gram Ultraslim weighs just 998 grams and boasts a depth of 10.99 millimeters. Also, LG gram Style laptops, which come in 14 and 16 inches, boast an elegant glass design that makes it easier to express their unique style at home, in the office and on the go.

Introducing new products that provide extraordinary brand experiences based on experimental ideas and bold designs, LG Labs made its debut at CES 2023. As a new product within LG, the zone featured fresh new products and prototypes – pluspot, Monshoecl, brid.zzz, hover gym and excicle – that visitors could all experience in-person.

The Better Life for All zone highlighted the company’s continuing commitment and efforts to achieve sustainability. This includes the eco-friendly practices it has applied from product design to disposal, as well as the multiple design innovations it has made to ensure everyone, no matter their ability, can easily enjoy the endless benefits and convenience provided by cutting-edge LG products.

Not only is LG striving to be the most sustainable company, but also the most accessible. This is why visitors could listen to their way around the large LG booth as well as all the major content that was created exclusively for this occasion. Every zone even provided braille inscriptions for the visually impaired.

Embarking on a new era of premium appliances with leading-edge performance and exquisitely refined designs, LG introduced its second generation of LG SIGNATURE products including OLED R, Dual InstaView refrigerator, a washer and dryer pair, air conditioner, air purifier and the Wine Cellar.

Another eye-catching zone was dedicated to its LG MoodUP refrigerators, which exuded an array of vivid colors that captivated CES attendees. First unveiled at IFA 2022, this unique refrigerator can express the user’s unique personality, mood or style by transforming the kitchen’s ambiance by switching through a wide palette of door colors and providing music streaming to “turn your MoodUP.”

Finally, the Lifestyle Zone was divided into three different sections based on the household’s distinct persona: creator, big family as well as the newlyweds and pet lover. Especially the Creator’s Room, designed with the famous New York-based designer Jeff Staple, presented the perfect space for trendsetters and creators, with LG ARTCOOL Gallery air conditioner, WashTower, Styler and the advantages of LG ThinQ more than enough to satisfy their individual tastes and preferences.

Within the family zone, LG created a smart home fully equipped with advanced, large-capacity appliances supporting LG ThinQ Care Service and ThinQ UP. Meanwhile, the zone for newlyweds and pet lovers utilized diverse products such as LG WashTower, PuriCare Aero Furniture and tiiun which all boast trendy yet minimalist designs, are made from recycled materials and show off incredible features that make them easy to use by people of all abilities.

The importance of a well-balanced diet and its benefits for preventing diseases by boosting one’s immune system must never be underestimated. That said, an alarming number of people in Indonesia are malnourished and, unlike other parts of the world, this number is rising, not falling. This problem can be attributed to the number of children with limited access to nutrient-packed ‘superfoods’ like fruit, vegetables, beef, fish and nuts, according to a 2020 survey of low-income households that suggested children in Jakarta were not eating nearly as much nutrient-dense foods as they were before the pandemic.*

Lee Taijin, President of LG Electronics Indonesia, and Kris Lee, Product Marketing Director of Home Appliances LG Electronics Indonesia, serve food to a waste disposal worker in Jakarta
To take another step forward in its mission to make the world a better place for everyone, LG is bringing its healthier lifestyle initiatives to more underprivileged communities in Indonesia, most recently with its LG Lebaran Sehat (LG Healthy Eid) event. From May 4 to 6, the company set out to create social value in the nation’s bustling capital city, Jakarta, by delivering hot, healthy meals to hungry locals with LG’s flagship home appliances, including its cutting-edge microwave and expansive two-door refrigerator, playing their part.

Every year, Eid al-Fitr marks the end of Ramadan and is celebrated by hundreds of millions of Muslims in Indonesia alone. After a full month of fasting and prayer, families participate in a nationwide exodus, known as mudik, to reach their hometowns in time to celebrate lebaran, which involves a family feast made up of various delicious, traditional meals. This year, lebaran meant even more to Indonesians of Islam as it saw the return of mudik, since restrictions on mass movement were finally lifted after 2 years living with the global pandemic.

Believing that a spirit of solidarity within the local community would bring people together, LG Indonesia sent food trucks to three waste treatment facilities in the poorer areas of the city – Warung Buncit, Rawajati and Bantargebang. Hundreds of healthy meals were handed out to hard-working locals and deserving children, which were kept fresh and warm thanks to the advanced, energy-efficient LG products employed inside the restaurants on wheels.

LG Indonesia endeavors to bring new social activities that better the lives of people from all walks of life, collaborating with various influential partners across multiple industries along the way to make sure no community is left behind.

This year’s edition of Italy’s globally-famous design fair featured wares from many top global brands, including well-known lifestyle innovator, LG. The company’s booth offered up a full menu of delicious events for 2022, enabling visitors to experience the unique value and craftsman-like quality of the Signature Kitchen Suite lineup of premium built-in appliances.

Signature Kitchen Suite’s ‘True to Food’ philosophy centers on the importance of preserving the original flavors of fresh ingredients, and is underpinned by a full understanding and sincere appreciation of the journey of good food. LG is proud to play its part in the final step of this journey with its state-of-the-art Signature Kitchen Suite’s appliances – including pro ranges designed to cook local specialties in the exact way (be it sous vide, induction, gas, griddle, true convection or steam) that best preserves their distinctive flavors and honors local culinary traditions.
The ‘True to Food’ philosophy could be seen, smelled and tasted throughout the variety of activities and displays – including cooking shows, concept catering, illustrative artwork and wine tastings – delivered in collaboration with chefs, artists and influencers who share the brand’s ideals.

Let’s take a look at some of the interactive, informative and often delectable events LG prepared for Milan Design Week 2022.

Entertaining Cooking Shows with New Signature Kitchen Suite Appliances
Leveraging Signature Kitchen Suite appliances, LG provided innovative experiences every day of the week-long celebration, putting on engaging cooking shows for people who value the art of cooking and enjoy gourmet food that allows the original flavors of ingredients.

Visitors were able to take part in cooking demonstrations showcasing traditional cooking methods and the precision of the Signature Kitchen Suite Pro Range featuring built-in sous vide function and the brand’s superb Induction Oven. Chef Christopher Tomei impressed those on hand by making mouthwatering food and by hosting lively panel discussions about the joys and benefits of authentic cooking. And, for an innovative mixture of cuisine and electronic music, LG presented daily performances by the trio of Italian artists known as Food Ensemble.

Concept Catering: Sharing the Original Taste of Local Ingredients
As well as entertaining cooking shows, LG’s booth captivated visitors’ senses with twice-daily ‘concept catering’ events. Mimosa Milano, a Milan-based cooking project led by chef Mimosa Misasi, treated attendees to an array of fine foods made with local ingredients, such as fragrant and flavor-rich herbs and spices, perfectly preserved and precisely prepared using Signature Kitchen Suite products.

Sharing Brand Values Through the Power of Art
The core values of the Signature Kitchen Suite brand and its ‘True to Food’ philosophy were also communicated through the instantly-recognizable art of Italian illustrator, architect and author, Carlo Stanga, who created two exclusive works for LG’s Milan Design Week showcase. Displayed inside the booth, the first depicted a cityscape which visitors could zoom-in on to discover Signature Kitchen Suite appliances, then click to find out more about each product and its features. The second artwork, exhibited outside the Signature Kitchen Suite’s Milan showroom, offered Stanga’s creative interpretation of the beautiful city of Milan.

Wine tastings completed the artful culinary experience, giving visitors the opportunity to sample and savor wines chilled to perfection in the Signature Kitchen Suite Column Wine Cellar and Under-counter Wine Cellar.

The diverse program of events held during Milan Design Week elegantly expressed the ‘True to Food’ philosophy and unique value of LG’s sophisticated built-in brand, successfully introducing more people to the advanced technologies, stylish design and convenient features that define the Signature Kitchen Suite lineup.
