1 Therma V R290 cuts carbon emissions by up to 93 percent compared to a conventional boiler by using heat from the air as an energy source. Carbon emission rates are calculated for space heating only. Using EN14825 climate data and assuming 4,910 annual operating hours with 35 degrees Celsius temperature operation based on average temperatures in France. Calculations based on June 2023 energy prices and the carbon intensity of the power sector in the EU in 2022, and 56.1 t-CO2/TJ is considered for calculation of CO2 emission of gas boiler.
2 According to the German Heat Pump Association, the annual CO2 emissions of heating systems vary significantly based on the power source. When a heat pump is powered by renewable energy, the emissions are as low as 0.09 tons, the least amount recorded, while using heat pumps powered by conventional energy results in emissions of 1.35 tons. (Exemplary figures from Germany, 2020; 4 persons, 200m2 flat and sourced from German Heat Pump Association, waermepumpe-bwp.de/co2-neutral-heizen/)
3 ThinQ Energy is an extensive feature of the LG ThinQ app. The name of the app and feature availability may vary depending on model and region.

Company Sets New Record for Annual Revenue

SEOUL, Jan. 8, 2025 — LG Electronics Inc. (LG) today announced its preliminary earnings results for the fourth quarter and full-year of 2024, reporting a consolidated revenue of KRW 87.74 trillion and an operating profit of KRW 3.43 trillion. This marks a new record for the highest annual revenue in the company’s history.
Over the past four years, LG’s consolidated revenue has seen a compound annual growth rate of over 10 percent. The company has managed to grow while maintaining solid fundamentals amidst various external uncertainties. Strategic shifts in business models, including subscription services and Direct-to-Consumer (D2C) initiatives, have driven growth beyond the limits of its core businesses. The expansion of Business-to-Business (B2B) operations has also contributed significantly to the revenue increase.
Despite various challenges, profitability remained stable on an annual basis. In the second half of last year, unexpected global shipping cost surges and one-time costs for inventory rationalization impacted profitability. However, the overall annual business performance showed positive qualitative growth driven by business portfolio realignment.
In the fourth quarter of last year, LG recorded consolidated revenue of KRW 22.78 trillion and an operating profit of KRW 146.1 billion. This year, the company aims to accelerate qualitative growth through business portfolio transformation. LG will focus on strengthening fundamental competitiveness in areas such as quality and cost while maximizing efforts to secure a robust profit structure through fixed cost efficiency.
The home appliance business, a core segment for the company, is expected to surpass KRW 30 trillion in revenue for the second consecutive year. The strategy of expanding AI appliances and volume zone lineups, along with diversifying business models to subscription and D2C, has driven solid performance. Growth in the B2B sector, including heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC), built-in appliances and component solutions, continues steadily.
LG plans to expand its subscription business to countries such as Thailand and India, in addition to existing markets like Korea, Malaysia and Taiwan. The HVAC business, which holds the largest share in LG’s home appliance B2B area, will now operate as an independent business unit to become a global top-tier, comprehensive air solutions business.
In the TV business, despite the overall market experiencing delayed demand recovery, demand in premium markets such as Europe is gradually improving. The company’s webOS-based advertising and content business continues to expand its ecosystem across TVs, smart monitors and automotive infotainment systems. Beginning this year, the company will seek to further expand the foundations of its advertising and content business through its OLED and QNED “Dual Track” strategy in premium markets, as well as meeting market-specific demands across the globe with volume zone lineups. Additionally, in accordance with last year’s organizational restructuring, the company plans to enhance synergies between hardware and platform businesses through the integrated operation of its screen-based offerings including TVs and IT and ID products.
The vehicle component business has experienced a temporary slowdown in demand for electric vehicles. Despite this, it has continued to achieve solid results and is on track to surpass KRW 10 trillion in revenue for the second consecutive year. The company will focus on responding to the transition to software-defined vehicles (SDV) and strengthening internal stability through profitability-centered operations.
These figures are tentative consolidated earnings based on K-IFRS provided as a service to investors prior to LG Electronics’ final earnings results, including net profit. Details regarding each division will be announced officially later this month.

The heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) industry is undergoing a significant transformation, shifting towards AI-driven solutions, clean technology and highly-efficient systems tailored to diverse regional needs. Embracing this shift, LG is leveraging its outstanding core technologies, AI and intimate knowledge of different industries to deliver HVAC solutions for a smarter, more efficient future.
LG’s dynamic HVAC business continues to expand its market presence and capabilities, investing heavily in R&D to develop innovative technologies for a new generation of eco-responsible temperature control and air quality systems. Over the past three years, it has achieved double-digit annual sales growth, making it one of LG’s fastest-growing concerns and an important driver of the company’s substantial and ongoing success in the B2B sector.

LG offers a comprehensive lineup of HVAC solutions optimized for a wide range of spaces, including residential, public, commercial and industrial. Its portfolio features large-capacity chillers – which are rapidly becoming the preferred choice for AI data centers where advanced and reliable heat management is essential – as well as an array of commercial and residential air conditioning systems. Utilizing cutting-edge technologies such as high-efficiency heat pumps, LG’s HVAC products provide outstanding cooling and heating performance and are widely acknowledged as effective electrification solutions suitable for replacing traditional fossil-fuel-driven systems.

In recognition of its efforts to lessen the environmental impacts of its HVAC solutions, LG has been named the “Most Sustainable Brand” in the HVAC category by Green Builder Media, a respected North American media outlet focusing on eco-friendly construction. In the U.S. and other countries, the company has created “locally self-sufficient operation systems” that encompass all key HVAC business functions – from R&D to maintenance and repair – and are tailored to local needs.

LG is also strongly committed to delivering dependable, energy-efficient heat pump solutions for regions affected by unrelentingly low temperatures. To this end, the company has established a global consortium focused on R&D for cold-climate heat pumps with bases currently operating in Alaska (U.S.), Oslo (Norway) and Harbin (China) – all places that endure frigid winter conditions.

Last September, LG hosted the first-ever meeting of the Global Heat Pump Consortium in Seoul, South Korea, where LG’s HVAC experts and academic partners gathered to discuss the collaborative projects being undertaken by each of the consortium’s regional clusters. In addition to the consortium’s R&D labs, LG operates five Air Solution Research Centers (with locations in South Korea, North America, Europe and India) and runs a total of 62 HVAC academics across 43 countries. These academies, which train over 30,000 engineers annually, are helping to support the global adoption of the company’s advanced HVAC technologies.

LG’s competitive edge in HVAC is driven by its unmatched “Core-Tech” capabilities. By developing essential components like compressors and motors in-house, LG strives to ensure that all of its products deliver the first-class reliability and efficiency that its customers have come to expect. Its oil-free centrifugal chillers incorporate LG-designed magnetic bearings, impellers, compressors and heat exchangers. These chillers also leverage LG’s highly evolved AI Engine to enable predictive control and to ensure outstanding stability and performance. LG’s AI Engine even provides intelligent surge prevention, a feature that is critical for data centers, where any interruption in operation can potentially mean inconvenience for millions.

With a solid foundation of R&D, a proven track record of innovation and a commitment to sustainability-focused design and management, LG continues to reinforce its reputation as the global leader in HVAC. From pioneering a new generation of data center cooling solutions to advancing high-efficiency heat pump technologies for harsh climates, the company is doing all that it can to help usher in a smarter, more efficient future.

Another unwanted update, bringing unwanted changes and now my Cambridge Audio soundbar is screwed.
My LG TV just performed an auto update to WebOS 13.30.56. When the TV restarted, all I now get out of the ARC connection is a constant loud buzzing, no programme audio. Well done LG software team. A triumph!
I have tried resetting the soundbar (it plays fine if I plug in an external device) but all I get from the LG TV is BUZZZZZZZ. I tried restarting both the TV and the Soundbar: BUZZZZZZZZZ. I tried a new HDMI cable BUZZZZZZZZ. So what do I do now?? I did not want this OS update, it brings nothing to me and everything was working perfectly before the update and sound on the (awful) inbuilt LG TV speakers is working, but the ARC audio output to my rather lovely Cambridge Audio soundbar is now, since the Web OS update, just a constant BUZZZZZZZ. I decided to try the Optical output of the LG connected to the soundbar instead. The soundbar is flashing "AUDIO ERROR" at me (I have tried all of the different audio output format options, all with the same result).
It really pi$$es me off when software teams release badly executed updates that break their customers devices. We are not your R&D test department LG, we are paying customers with whom you lose trust, brand loyalty and future sales when poor engineering teams release software updates that are not fully tested. God only knows what LG have done here but after 2 hours of trying to resolve an issue THEY caused on my setup, I have given up.
Has anyone else had this issue and have suggestions please? I have tried to contact LG using their Email Support function, wading through the multiple layers to get to the right page and spending time typing up all the details of my support request, etc, but no response yet (other than the automated bot stuff).
      Thanks.
