I feel your pain, jmk. My 27" LG "kitchen TV" (I'd have to look up the model) has the worst built-in speakers. Sounds like a 1960's transistor radio, very tinny and brash.
It does not have a 3.5 earplug out socket, so I have to buy an adapter to convert optical sound out to 3.5 analog.
An extra 2 or 3 steps every time I turn the TV on, to connect my Phillips external speakers (great speakers, BTW).
What were they thinking? A current high dollar smart TV without a 3.5 mm earplug out capability?
Otherwise, I'm pleased with the excellent true HD picture and smart 5G connectivity.
Such a simple and universal thing... a 3.5mm earplug out socket, with volume control.
Missing on a $400 LG premium quality TV (with less than $100 Visio sound quality, as delivered).
What were they thinking?
