I pressed the exit and INstop nothing happens. Please help me here on how to turn off Factory mode and revert back to User Mode.

    Hi! After doing what you did you have to turn off the tv and turn it on again for change to be executed i think. Have you done that ?

    Did you unplug hdmi and network cable ?

    And have you try this method :

     

    Me I added in the harmony elite remote, the "services menu" ,the "in_start" and the "instop" options

    I think you could do the same

    Hi! I want to know if you have set your tv in family mode ? You hit settings on your remote -> advanced -> general -> home(family) / store mode, then select home(family) mode. Then set or reset your tv if needed.

    Or you can do what is say in this video it might work:


    If your remote control is not working

    Then you should try the "instop" option or button in the "sure universal remote" app that you can find on the Google playstore in an Android smartphone.

    Once the sure app is pair to the tv -> hit the checkered square -> scroll down to the bottom and hit the "instop" option to factory reset your tv.

    If you can't use the sure app, you can purchase this not to expensive lg services remote on amazon it go the "instop" button and more...

    Look for this it cost about $9.90

  3. Yes its crazy really. When i bought this TV, i did quite a bit of research and really asked a lot of people in quite a few different shops about "Smart TV's" and the shop staff in pretty much ever shop really pushed this LG TV. Looking back that should have sounded alarm bells.
    As i have discussed here with other people, i have had my TV running the internet through an Ethernet cable from day one, i have never use the Wifi for the internet, so its very confusing when i hear other people say that using an Ethernet cable fixed this problem for them, because it certainly has not fixed my problem. I have talked to quite a few people and even had some "LG qualified" technicians out to look at the TV. They just parrot the same BS, "they have never seen this problem before" or "close the TV down every 20 minutes to delete the cache" "uninstall the apps" "reset to factory default" "stand in a corner on your head with your arse painted blue"...... actually that lasy one i have not tried, but who knows?
    Too be honest this is only one of the many problems that i have with this TV. I am also starting to get randem shut downs and restarts, somtimes the screen with go black and i can hear the program in the backround, but not see the picture, when this happens i can not use any of the buttons on the "magic" remote. Pages not loading because of not enough memory, The TV not starting properly because it tells me that i am not signed in ect ect
    LG are rubbish, not only are their product rubbish, but their customer service is the worst, they seriously dont give a toss what they sell to you and after they have your money... well we all know what happens then.
    Hi! I think you should try setting the tv region code to another region, restart for the change to be executed, do a factory reset after this, once you finish set properly the tv to try it and see if you still get app crashes or low memory alert. By doing all this i think the tv is forced to set default apps from the region code that you chose and delete what I believe is in memory and properly set new one.

    If everything works fine, you could keep it that way or you can get it back to your region code, restart the tv, and go again through a factory reset. And set properly your TV.

    You can check memory capacity of your tv by doing this :

    Use your Magic remote or your normal tv remote:
    Press Settings -> Go to programmes -> Highlight on Auto Tuning or programme settings but you do not hit on it, just highlight it. Depending on your LG TV model press on your remote the digit 1 five times. Then you will get host information showing on screen, where you can see the flash capacity of your tv, the Dram capacity, firmware version, Web os version, wifi connection information, lock status, etc.....

    You can also check your internal storage, in setting -> Advanced -> General -> About the TV -> TV informations -> then look at your storage.

    Mine state 0.29/0.60GB and I am upset it was supposed to be more then what you see. Maybe its a mistake, I called LG but the tech agent did not know the exact internal storage capacity I was supposed to have. Its crazy for a tv of 2018. When you know all the apps you got on the tv that keeps on getting updates from time to time. And all the Apps you could get in Lg content store.

    One time when the tv was newly arrived, I had downloaded more sets of screen saving pictures in the gallery, and I couldn't update the tv with new software update that was available, and I could not update any installed apps on my Tv. I had to deleted the sets of screen saving pictures I had previously downloaded and left only one, and everything got back to normal so I could do the software update, and later update the apps.

    I would like to get a feedback on what happened if you do this.

    For anyone reading this I wish that everyone who are unhappy about the memory and storage capacity of their expensive Lg 4k tv get together against LG. I do not know how to say it. But I think everybody understand.

    Hi! I believe that about this pairing process with the web os tv, there is a similar pairing code both on the tv and the magic remote, whenever you turn the tv of or unplug it or plug and turning it on the code is still the same has the one in the magic remote, when you unplug the web os tv has I said the code remains the same, but when you unpaired the magic remote the pairing code in the magic remote is reset so it change, while the code in the web os tv remains the same, then when you plug it back and turn it on the tv and use the magic remote, it send a signal or command to the tv and the tv does not recognize the magic remote because the pairing code on the magic remote has been change because of the unpaired. Therfore the web os tv show a message to clarify that pairing the magic remote is needed, so you pair again the magic remote and the web os tv so the code on both devices matches again, therefore working together again.

    Sorry I use to many word to explain this someone else would have done a better work

  5. I bought the TV and Magic remote together from the av shop. However, it was closed last year. As a customer, I didn't think to check the remote model especially it worked normally in the salesman's demo.

    And how did you get the update you've installed on that TV ?

    Hi! You should not be disappointed from LG, but could you please tell me where did you get that remote for your 55UH6500 ? After looking around i found that this Magic remote was not meant for This Tv line up. The one you need is The Magic Remote AN-MR650 you can find it on Amazon or maybe some retailers, you have to check the availability for your country. Here some link for you to check

    Hi! Did you try to go to general setting->  location -> LG Services Country -> uncheck the "Set automatically " -> country -> pick your desired" country" -> India -> hit" yes"to confirm then agree to the user agreement to proceed to the change then restart when asked. Try , and give me a feedback on what happened.

Again I do think after reflexion that you should firstly factory reset your Tv (if something has gone wrong in the update doing this might fixe it), use a Tv remote app on your smartphone pairs to your tv, one from lg or the "sure app" or whatever you find to access to "all settings" -> general setting" scroll down to "factory reset" if you had set a password then input it when asked if don't. Hit  "yes" to confirm the "factory reset" when asked. And lets the tv do his job then restart and set your tv like your first time, reset your magic remote, remove the old battery and let the remote without battery for 20 min, then still without battery press and hold the power button for 5 min, put new battery in the magic remote, hold home button and back button together for about 5 seconds while aiming to the tv, then the power button should flash meaning is pairing or try to do so, then hit the ok button that's pushing down on the center of the scroll wheel, while your close to tv, then if this worked the tv should say something like that " pairing is successful " then you are good to go, if not working, maybe your tv is not set for the rigth country, check general setting, go to location, then lg services country, uncheck "set automatically" and chose the right country if it is not setup then hit yes to confirm, if asked to agree to user agreement, do so and restart. And try pairing again.  Hope it work the first time! I'll wait for your return, bye

You can use the "sure app" if you are on Android and once downloaded to your smartphone activate the location option on your smartphone and  connect it to the home network where the CX  tv is connected, open the "sure app" and hit add new device, select TV, select LG, then pairs with the CX by inputting in the "sure app" the code that appears on TV and confirm.  Restart the process of unzipping the software update file.zip, go to the unzipped folder, copy the only file in that folder with the " .bin" extension, past it in a folder name LG_DTV  that you have created in the root of your usb drive, if you want you can rename that usb drive "UPDATE" I do not think its necessary but give it a try, then plug the USB drive in the usb port on the back of your Tv, then go to the "sure app" hit "LG TV" then hit the checkered square in third position from the right, and scroll down to the bottom end, you will see the "software update" option, hit the "software update" option, and finish with your original Lg tv remote, browse to the file location on your usb drive and proceed to the downgrade or update, if all works the tv will reboot or it migth ask you to restart the tv once you confirm, then turn off if asked, wait 5 min then start the TV and let it set the web os, then agree to the user agreement and set your tv, enjoy and come back to say that your are lucky ?

    NB: I tried the "software update" option on my tv nothing happened, but I had no usb drive with firmware plug to the tv, so I think it's normal behavior has it migth  only works when a firmware file is detected by the TV. 

    Please try this now and come back to explain what happened it may be useful for base knowledge.

  11. Hi! I'd like to know something did you plug the USB drive with the LG_DTV folder containing the software file on the CX usb port ? And what did you see ? What happened ? 

    And did you use the smartify lg tv remote at that time ?

    And did you click on the apps button inside the smartify lg tv remote, scroll down and see if there is a "software update" option ?

    And if there is just hit the button !

    But they migth have removed it, but it migth be also that the option appears only when the tv detect a firmware ?

    Did you use an Android phone  or an Apple ios Iphone ? Simple curiosity. 

    Could you please answer me today ? 

     

     

  12. Get your CX 48 TV firmware from this link: https://www.lg.com/uk/support/software-firmware 

    just change the /uk/ in the link to your country initials by exemple /es/ for spain or /fr/ for france

    once there set your exact model number like by exemple  this one from uk is OLED48CX5LC or the 2nd is OLED48CX6LB,  yours is different so check your model number at the back of your tv

    Then scroll down to software section and get the only firmware that should be available depending on your country, in uk its Software_File(Version_03.21.18).zip

    Download the one for your country tv if exist

    And unzip it check in the unzipped folder 📂 if there is any useless file has a readme.txt file if there is remove it and let solely the software file update and rename the folder to LG_DTV and past that folder to a usb stick formated to NTFS plug in your CX usb port chose one in the back of your Tv, you migth get a message prompt that saied " update firmware detected 03.21.18 is older the your actual software 03.33.02 we can't update" something like that or maybe it might do the update because its an engineering firmware, who knows ? I don't 

    But get the Android or Apple application Smartify lg tv remote from kraftwerk 9 inc, download the app on your phone and connect your phone to your home network through wifi and connect the tv to home network with the network cable linked to the internet box, then connect the downloaded remote app to tv then scroll down near the bottom to find the "software update" option. It' ll trigger the advanced software update menu. Browse with your normal LG remote to the firmware location that's on your usb drive. Select the firmware and proceed to the downgrade or to the update has you want to call this.

    If you succeed then come back and say you were lucky. Good luck hope this work

I suggest you get the first released firmware with the CX 48, if you can't find it get the 2nd one, and format the usb stick to NTFS or if you did that and it did not work try fat32 format has the engineering firmware migth use that format who knows give it a try and do your downgrade, and if for some reason it still not working try to use a smartphone has a usb stick because it got a battery on his own and because of your engineering firmware that could mess up the power of the usb port, just dropped your LG_DTV folder to internal storage, and plug in the usb port of the tv with the data transfer usb cable original, and do your downgrade. Pray for any of this to work, I tried to help you but i do not know what you see on the tv and what really causing you not been able to update or change the firmware, you did not put any picture of what you have on the screen, and if the remote is not working try to use the physical buttons on the tv to get to what you want, if you got the tv wired with network cable to an internet box you migth try to use an android app has smartfy lg remote tv and connect your phone to your home network trought wifi it migth work that way, good luck and say if you got lucky
