@Karan Batra any idea about its availability for webos 3.0 tvs?
-
@trphilip Hotstar is available only for webos 3.5+ tvs. I mailed hotstar team many times to support atleast 3.0 but they are not working on it. They say it is because of technical limitations on webos 3.0

@james jim Hotstar is available only for web os 3.5 or above. It is not available for webos 3.0 and below. You can request hotstar to make the app compatible with 3.0 if possible technically.

From memory Hotstar are only supporting TVs that run webOS 3.5 and upwards, they make the app so this decision is outside of LG's hands. A brief search around the forum should confirm this.
Yes
Hotstar is saying there is a technical difficulty in making the app supported by webos versions below 3.5. But they can work with LG on this and provide a firmware update for webos 3.0+ tvs like Zee5 did and zee5 is now fully supported on webos 3.0+ tvs.

There is no Sony LIV app for LG Smart TVs. Sony has been saying its under development for years now. I don’t think they are making it at all.

Well hi iam santhosh from Bangalore..I have a 65 inch lg oled c8 tv ..which does not have mx player in it ..tried to search but didn't succeed..its neither in lg content store nor couldn't install it from an external source..can any one help me out with this issue..
Mx player app is not available for webos and cant be installed from any external source since the tv is not an android tv. As per the email communication from mx team, the mx tv app (not media player ,mx ott app)will be available in india soon.

What is the webos version of your tv? If it is 2.0 these apps are not available. Those apps are available for tvs running webos 3.0+

@Adit The webos version specified by you is firmware version rather than webos version. According to hotstar, only tvs with webos 3.5 and above will receive the update. The tv model specified by you has webos version 2.0 when checked in specifications. So contact hotstar whether they are making the app compatible with version 3.5 below tvs
