Advertisement Playback Mode

Francisco_ARG

Question

Today, I received an LG 43SM5KB-BD television which, upon powering it on, automatically enters the Smart TV mode. After this loading process is complete, it further transitions into a playback mode that displays promotional videos. It's important to note that this mode is not the well-known "retail" or "store mode" which typically features a sidebar with product information, but rather a mode preloaded with videos for playback.

When attempting to press the buttons on the remote control or those located on the back of the television, I do not receive any response. I am in need of exiting this mode to navigate the television as usual. Does anyone know how to exit this mode without having to perform a factory reset?

I appreciate your assistance, and greetings!

I'm having this problem with LG Oled 65c16LA with WebOs Version 03.40.85
When I turn off the TV, it goes into standby mode.
After 2 minutes the red standby LED turns off and it is no longer possible to turn the TV back on with the remote or with the power on button.
It is then necessary to unplug the power supply, wait a few minutes and reconnect it.
So the TV goes back to standby and you can turn it on again. In use everything works.
Is it a software problem? How can I solve it?
      Thank you

      Hi !
I am going to buy a new LG TV, probably - which comes with WebOS (not android TV). Now, one of the features I really liked with Android TV is the ability to set ambient mode with chosen google photos albums. Is it possible also with WebOS? (without connecting any external streamer, I prefer to use the TV operating system).

      Thanks!

      Hi.
Today I've faced the issue that all our LG TV in company cann't login in Developer mode. I tried to re-install dev mode, but LG content store is unavailable too.
On Friday I didn't have any problem with that. Maybe smb has the same issues?

I recently downloaded the Lionsplay app on my webOS TV to watch my favorite Lionsgate movies and TV shows, but unfortunately, the app is not working correctly. Every time I try to play any content, I receive a playback error message, and the video does not play.
I have tried troubleshooting the issue by restarting the app and my TV, but the problem persists. I even contacted the Lionsgate support team, but they were unable to resolve the issue. They informed me that the app is not currently supported on webOS devices and suggested that I try using the app on a different device.
This is disappointing since I was looking forward to watching my favorite Lionsgate content on my TV. If you are using webOS, I would not recommend downloading the Lionsplay app until the app is fully supported on this platform. It's frustrating to encounter playback errors, and it ruins the viewing experience.
Overall, I hope Lionsgate addresses this issue soon so that webOS users can enjoy their content on the platform. Until then, I suggest trying other platforms to access the Lionsplay app to watch your favorite content.

      Hello all,
I have noticed a problem with Airplay on my LG TV.
I have disabled Apple Airplay from the Airplay settings but on my Apple devices (my iPhone, Macbook), when the TV is turned on, it is still detectable.
If I click on my TV from my iPhone, it is impossible to connect. However, the TV is always detectable, which is annoying.
To sum up, it's as if the detectability of Airplay and its status (active/inactive) are two separate things.
Ideally, if Airplay mode is disabled, the TV should not be detectable on Apple devices because it is confusing and bad from a user experience point of view.
Has anyone an idea how to fix this or how to escalade this issue?
      Best regards,
      Baris
PS: My television is the model OLED55CX6LA.AVS
