No Apps working on 49UF6430 4K TV

Recommended Posts

My wife and daughters gave me a 49UF6430 4K TV for Christmas. None of the apps work. I've spent 7 hrs with LG Tech Support isolating the problem. Tech support has concluded that due to a software (OS?) malfunction, none of the apps recognize that the TV is successfully connected to the internet, which results in the following (erroneous) error message: "Network Error (2). The TV is not connected to the internet." This, despite the fact that the browser is operable. Tech support stated that this bug affects ALL TV's with the "UF" model designation in the 3rd and 4th character of the model number. Tech support is run by a contract Help Desk in Manilla. They assured me that they have communicated the bug to LG software support, and that a software/OS patch should be forthcoming, time/date uncertain. I thought I would give them about a week before I bundle up the whole thing, return it to Target, and pursue a Samsug purchase.

It seems strange to me that a glitch this big would not have been noticed by production QC. Has anyone else experienced this problem???

Thanks ahead for any light you can shed on this subject.

I hit the same problem, as have others (see some of the more recent threads).

In my (and other) case, it appears to be an issue with Comcast - with my TV connected through a T-Mobile hotspot, I was able to access the store and download apps.  However, with the TV connected through my Comcast ISP, I got the same "Network Error (2)".

Are you also connected through Comcast as your ISP?

Since the LG contract Helpdesk in Manila decided the only fix would have to be implemented by LG software support and sent LG a patch request request for the same, Juanita at Target Customer Service in Nicaragua recommended it was time for an exchange. I then went through a 24 hr saga of discovering at 3 different Target stores that computer inventory <> actual inventory, and that while all the computer inventory TV's were in the 49UF64xx series, none were the "6430". Turned out that the next day my local Target in Auburn, CA had a new one the had received early that morning in their regular shipment. High praise and accolades to Carolyn, AJ, & Veronica of the Auburn store for turning my vexations ordeal into a happy ending!!!!

      Hello everyone,
Apologies if I'm writing in the wrong forum, this is my first time. I've just bought a LG 55ur80006lj 4K UHD Smart TV, I've got an Amazon Firestick 4K that I'm using with it, when I go to 4K content, sometimes it shows UHD at bottom or sometimes 1080p HDR on it, when I go to settings it mentions, for 4K I require a stable strong internet (which I have) and an HDMI port supporting HDCP 2.2
I wanted to know if the model I have, does it support HDCP 2.2 or not!!
      Thank you

      Hello.

Some tutorials explain how to do it.
We first need to root the TV with scripts such as RootMyTV, and then install dts_restore.
Both tools are free and available at github.
I'm not writing the links because I don't know if it's allowed in this forum and because I take no responsibility.

      My question is:
Has anybody tried this process? Does it work?
The documentation says if you have any problem you can just factory reset the TV, but I don't dare to do it.

I recently updated the firmware on my  LG43UH610V.  Now I constantly get "Wired Lan cable disconnected" / "Wired network is connected" messages even while watching a video file from my NAS. The TV is connected and using the network while getting these messages. It has always been on a fixed IP address on the LAN.

It is shameful that LG has removed support for DTS audio.
You can request LG to reenable it at change.org:
