Company Achieves Record-Breaking First-Quarter Revenue
Driven by Balanced Growth in Home Appliance and B2B Sectors
SEOUL, April 24, 2025 — LG Electronics Inc. (LG) today announced consolidated revenue of KRW 22.74 trillion and operating profit of KRW 1.26 trillion for the first quarter of 2025. This marks the highest first-quarter revenue in the company’s history and the sixth consecutive year in which operating profit surpassed KRW 1 trillion during the first quarter. Strong performance was driven by qualitative growth across key business areas, especially in B2B, non-hardware segments (such as subscriptions and webOS platform) and direct-to-consumer (D2C) sales.
Vehicle solutions and heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) – both critical to LG’s B2B strategy and future growth – delivered record-breaking quarterly revenue and operating profit. Combined operating profit from the Vehicle Solution Company and Eco Solution Company increased 37.2 percent year-over-year, with revenue climbing 12.3 percent.
The Home Appliance Solution Company, LG’s flagship business and primary profit generator, also recorded its highest-ever quarterly revenue while maintaining global market leadership. The business is rapidly transforming through innovative models such as subscription services and D2C sales. Meanwhile, the media and entertainment segment demonstrated solid performance, led by continued growth in LG’s webOS-based advertising and content platform.
The LG Home Appliance Solution Company reported first-quarter revenue of KRW 6.70 trillion and operating profit of KRW 644.6 billion. Compared to the same period last year, revenue increased by 9.3 percent, setting a new record, and operating profit grew by 9.9 percent. The Company continues to maintain its market leadership while accelerating the growth of its subscription and D2C sales.
Looking to the second quarter, the Company anticipates increased uncertainty due to shifting global trade policies and increasing market competition. To address these challenges, the Company will expand its portfolio of new and volume-zone products, while deepening its focus on subscription and online businesses. Additional priorities include focusing on opportunities in B2B such as built-in appliances and external sales of key components like motors and compressors. Profitability efforts will center on enhancing cost competitiveness through optimizing operational efficiency.
The LG Media Entertainment Solution Company posted first-quarter revenue of KRW 4.95 trillion and operating profit of KRW 4.9 billion. While TV demand remained soft, growth in webOS-based advertising and content services made a greater contribution to performance. Revenue remained in line with the previous year, though profitability was impacted by rising LCD panel prices and higher marketing spend.
In the second quarter, the Company will seek to create synergies across its display-focused businesses, including TVs, commercial displays, and IT products such as laptops and monitors. While the market recovers slowly, the Company will emphasize profitability, particularly through premium products. The expanding webOS-based platform will aim to increase geographic reach and product base while advancing strategic partnerships with content providers to maintain its growth trajectory.
The LG Vehicle Solution Company recorded its highest-ever quarterly revenue and operating profit, with revenue of KRW 2.84 trillion and operating profit of KRW 125.1 billion. Growth continues to be powered by a robust order backlog totaling KRW 100 trillion. Notably, profitability improved in the in-vehicle infotainment business, where premium product share is steadily increasing. In the second quarter, the Company aims to sustain revenue growth and solidify a stable profit structure by expanding high-value product sales, optimizing operations in the EV component business, and enhancing resource efficiency.
The LG Eco Solution Company also achieved record-high quarterly revenue and operating profit. First-quarter revenue reached KRW 3.05 trillion, with operating profit of KRW 406.7 billion, resulting in a strong operating margin of 13.3 percent. Year-over-year, revenue rose 18.0 percent and operating profit grew 21.2 percent. Since the beginning of 2025, LG has operated its HVAC business as an independent division, with noticeable performance gains driven by efficient resource allocation and a B2B-focused organizational structure.
Alongside the Vehicle Solution Company, the Eco Solution Company serves as a core engine of LG’s B2B growth. In the second quarter, the Company will seek to expand sales of new residential HVAC products and secure commercial air conditioning contracts in emerging markets. It also plans to target large-scale industrial and power-generation projects – including AI data centers – by leveraging its ultra-large chiller solutions.

I have owned a couple of LG TV’s over the last 8 years, with the current one being a high-end 77” model.
I am still using LG TV SmartShare (v.33) as my “Media Player” v2.3.1511.1201 for my PC– which was last updated in 2015 but it is still compatible today. As proof, my latest TV is now 11 months old and I have had zero issue (until you see below).
link hidden, please login to view My PC setup is: Windows 10 Pro (with all latest updates) and a TP-Link Archer BE19000 (BE805) router. NOTHING has been changed on my router, TV (no updated or changed firmware) or any equipment moved around in the last 4 months.
Up until about 3 weeks ago, everything ran just fine. The SmartShare program was always defaulted to have Sharing ON, upon start of it, which is always when Windows boots). However, about 3 weeks ago, the SmartShare PC program has started to randomly change its status to Sharing OFF. I would then have to go into the program, manually change it to ON and then it works anywhere for 30 minutes up to 20 hours, and again, randomly change the Sharing to OFF.
I am an experienced PC user, and I am very sure that this has nothing to do with my WIFI because it’s not a dropped connection or random TV not being found. Something is happening inside Windows 10 that is triggering this status change. And it never fluctuates back to Sharing ON by itself.
Being so frustrated, I actually updated the Router to the latest firmware a few days ago, but this problem continues as before.
As an experiment, I installed an alternate Media Server program called Serviio. One can also see that when my Sharing changes to OFF, the two green lights turn red.
Anyone have an idea of what can be happening after nearly 8 years of not experiencing this? I am guessing that Windows is triggering some “Service” to stop running, but what can it be?

Company Achieves Highest Annual Revenue as Home Appliances and Vehicle
Components Continue Growth for Ninth Consecutive Year
SEOUL, Jan. 23, 2025 — LG Electronics Inc. (LG) announced its financial results for the year 2024, disclosing a consolidated revenue of KRW 87.73 trillion and an operating profit of KRW 3.42 trillion. This marks a new record for the highest annual revenue in the company’s history.
In terms of revenue, both the home appliances and the vehicle components business continued their growth for the ninth consecutive year, contributing to the company’s highest revenue achievement. The LG Home Entertainment Company and Business Solutions Company also saw an increase in revenue compared to the previous year.
Operating profit experienced a slight decline compared to the previous year, primarily due to external factors such as a delayed recovery in global demand for home appliances and increased logistics costs in the second half of the year. Despite these challenges, the company maintained a stable profit structure on an annual basis. This stability was achieved through qualitative growth resulting from business portfolio restructuring and the operating leverage effect from increased sales.
2024 Business Performance
The LG Home Appliance & Air Solution Company reported a revenue of KRW 33.2 trillion in 2024. After surpassing KRW 30 trillion in annual revenue for the first time two years ago, the Company has continued to demonstrate sustainable performance, achieving double-digit revenue growth last year. Operating profit reached KRW 2.04 trillion, overcoming the challenges posed by increased logistics costs. This marks the first time since 2021 that the Company has exceeded KRW 2 trillion in operating profit.
The Company’s qualitative growth was driven by changes in its business models, which include home appliance subscriptions and Direct-to-Consumer sales. Revenue from home appliance subscriptions surged by over 75 percent compared to the previous year, nearing KRW 2 trillion. In addition, the B2B segment, which includes heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) systems, continued to expand.
The LG Home Entertainment Company reported a revenue of KRW 15.23 trillion and an operating profit of KRW 315.9 billion in 2024. Sales of OLED TVs saw growth in regions such as Europe and Asia, driven by global sports events. Additionally, the webOS-based advertising and content business surpassed KRW 1 trillion in annual revenue.
The LG Vehicle component Solutions Company reported a revenue of KRW 10.62 trillion in 2024, marking the second consecutive year it has surpassed KRW 10 trillion in revenue. Despite experiencing a temporary slowdown in demand for electric vehicles, the Company demonstrated stable revenue growth for the ninth consecutive year, supported by a high order backlog. However, operating profit decreased to KRW 115.7 billion compared to the previous year, primarily due to increased development costs for new order projects and R&D investments aimed at transitioning to software-defined vehicles (SDV).
The LG Business Solutions Company reported a revenue of KRW 5.69 trillion in 2024, with an operating loss of KRW 193.1 billion. The increase in revenue was driven by a focus on customized commercial displays for sectors such as hotels, stores, businesses and schools, as well as premium IT products like the LG gram. However, the Company continued to face operating losses due to rising raw material prices for key products and intensified market competition.
2025 Business Directions
LG will consistently pursue qualitative growth through business portfolio innovation, despite the rapidly changing global market and competitive environment. Following the regrouping of the company’s business operation units at the end of last year, LG aims to enhance synergies between its businesses and improve operational efficiency. Additionally, LG will focus on strengthening the fundamental competitiveness of its businesses in terms of quality and cost, while securing a sound profit structure.
The LG Home Appliance Solution Company plans to launch new products with regional specialization and AI applications, aiming to expand sales by increasing sales of its volume zone lineups. The Company will also advance its AI home solution business to achieve its goal of “Zero Labor Home, Makes Quality Time.” Additionally, the subscriptions business will actively expand beyond Korea, Malaysia and Taiwan to include Thailand, India and other regions, continuously creating new opportunities.
The LG Media Entertainment Solution Company aims to expand sales of premium products such as OLED and QNED, while providing differentiated customer experiences through AI features. The Company will integrate operations of LG’s screen-based businesses – including TVs, IT devices and information displays – to enhance synergies between hardware and platform businesses. Additionally, webOS will be developed into an integrated content and services platform for both indoor and outdoor use through continuous content investment and partnership expansion.
The LG Vehicle Solution Company aims to focus on going beyond a supplier of vehicle components to becoming a provider of innovative solutions for the entire vehicular experience. The Company will focus on securing SDV capabilities in preparation for the future. It will also strive to maintain stable revenue based on its order backlogs while improving profitability through product mix enhancement and overall operational improvements.
The newly established LG Eco Solution Company aims to rapidly grow LG’s HVAC business into a global top-tier player by leveraging its core technological competitiveness in key components such as motors and compressors. The Company will focus on building locally self-sustainable production systems and developing region-specific solutions. It will provide comprehensive solutions optimized for various spaces, including industrial, commercial, public and residential facilities, ranging from large chillers to commercial and residential air conditioners.
