  1. Hi everyone!!!

    Lately I have a problem with my 40UH630V (OS Ver. 05.70.30). It takes too long for a hard drive or a USB stick to get it ready to play video files. That means that I have to plug in my hard drive or USB stick and wait for at least 4-5 minutes before I can play the video files, no matter what type/format they are. Sometimes I have to unplug and re-plug my drive so to read it. 

    Here I must point that both USB ports are clean with no dust or any corrosion, USB cables are new and fully functional and all hard drives and USB sticks are working perfectly on my 32LQ63806LC. 

    Also in some cases i get a message on TV for a format compatibility but I don't think this is the case, since if I wait 4-5 minutes (sometimes a bit more) then it reads them normally.

    Any ideas? 

  2. Nothing has been fixed yet. 

    My TV has download all available updates but all problems such as subtitles, flash plugin in the browser, menus' delays etc still remain.

     

    And by the way, another bug came up few days ago. 

     

    I plug a stereo jack to the TV's audio output to send it to my HI-FI and evereything worked well untill i unplug the cable from the TV. Then I had no sound from the TV until i manually select the audio output (from the menu) to be my TV's speakers.

    In any other TV i have or seen this is done automaticaly. 

  3. Mr.North and anyone else who believes that soon there will be a solution. 

    I am afraid that incompatibility will play a key role in what's next for this platform.

    I personally think that LG should come out officially and say clearly to the people that this attempt was a FAILURE and if there is a possibility of moving to another platform using the same hardware to do it so directly and free for all WebOS based TVs owners.

    I do not believe that they have room for more excuses. 

    Any upgrades are available so far, haven't restore any of the major issues have been reported here and all over the internet for the WebOS platform.

    The most frustrating is that LG has no officially placed on the issue, although understands their problems. And of course I can't believe that LG is not aware of all these problems, do not you think???

    The best would be to have an official answer here, in this forum, in this thread. 

    ...Please let me know if this ever happens.

  4. Nothing special for the moment. 

    The problem with the subtitles still remains, also no fix update for browser's flash plugin. 

    My TV's Firmware version is at 04.32.20 and WebOS Version 1.3.1-3220(afro-arches). 

    The fact that they haven't fix any of these very important issues is very annoying. 

    Whenever i call them, they say that "if you believe that there is a problem with your TV, take it to the service store, otherwise wait for updates". 

    ....At the end..... Bullshit.....

  5. Another problem came up last night. 

    I connect my blu-ray Samsung BD-E5500 and the SimpLink couldn't work. 

    I try everything that was available in both TV and Blu-Ray but nothing happend. 

    I will say it once again that in my old LG 32LM620A the activation of SimpLink was just few clicks on the RC.

    What is going on with this WebOS????????????? 

  6. Older LG models such as LM and LA series was playing ALL subs without problems even if they had color changes, italic, bold, underline etc. 

     

    For the moment there is no update to fix this problem. 

    This situation has started to annoying me too too much, 

    I'm thinking to make use of the warranty rights if they don't fix it soon.

    I have a first official answer from LG Hellas about the bugs. 

     

    "We would like to inform you that the reported as weak spots of the system webOS have taken into account of the competent departments (software development) of our company. In any case, we would like to note that the webOS platform is at the heart of the operation of the new TVs of LG Electronics and is constantly evolving, so that every consumer has gradually (and through future upgrades) a better experience handling these devices"

     

    I don't know what they had in their mind when they were writing this e-mail to me, but it didn't solve any of the problems.....

  8. Hi guys, 

    So, as far as i can see, the problem still remains and as others mentioned, it's not only one problem (the one with the subtitles).

     

    So to conclude everything here, so far the problems are: 

    1) Subtitles doesn't play as they have to. 

    2) The menu is too slow

    3) To open the menu you have to push a button such as "smart" or "guide", "info" etc, wait for few seconds until you see the message "System Manager Initializing" (or something like that) and then you can finaly enter the menu. 

    4) The above includes the problem with the "guide", that you cannot enter straight after you turn on the TV and you have to do what i wrote before. 

    5) For a strange reason, when i (finaly) enter the LG store and try to download an app, it always asks me for my e-mail and password. That means that it doesn't keep my details in memory and i have to do it every time i'm trying to download an app. 

    6)A very big problem that i found yesterday is that, through the TV's browser i cannot see any flash video. It says that Flash is not supported. WHAT???

     

    Guys, if you have anything else to put, do it because i'm looking to send the link of this thread to LG.

    I download the new firmware but the news are bad. 

    Things wtih subs are still the same.

    So they haven't fix the problem, instead they create a new one. 

    With the previous update i had access to apps & games. OK the list wasn't as big as the in the pre-webos menu, but it had few things to check and see. 

    Now, when i try to go to apps & games a message comes up that says something like "The page has nothing show" (or something similar, i don't remember it exactly).

    BUT, when you click on "search" and you type for example "facebook" the app shows up straight away. I also typed "weather" and few apps  showed in the list that they weren't at the "Premium" menu. 

     

    Please tell me if you experience the same problems as I do.

    I did another trick and it worked for at least to .mp4 files with .srt.

    I first change it to "Simplified Chinese" as they suggest in a previews post but nothing happend, no subs at all. Then i change it to Greek again and subs played without problems during the whole film. 

    Of course, even with this trick the WebOS doesn't recognise italic or bold fonts, that means that if an .srt file has italic fonts it will be displayed as <i>bla bla bla</i> and of course it goes the same with the colours for example "<font color=#FF0000>w</font>" will appear on TV instead of changing the font's colour.

     

    Today I will send the link of this thread to LG Hellas and let 'em read it all and maybe then they will understand that this is a very common bug that they have to fix immediately!!!

  11. Back for news. 

    I update the FW version by changing the regional settings. So i set it in UK as Beredim suggest and now LG Store is open but most of the apps are not available yet for some reason. 

    I also try to fix the subtitles' bug and i change the .srt file from ANSI to UTF-8 format.

    Things looks better now but it doesn't display greek fonts all the time. By that i mean that during playback 4 out of 5 subs are correct and 1 is displayed as ^@HJ@))_KS*@H ...... 

     

    I'll call the guys at LG Hellas to see if i can find another solution and i'll be back in few minutes.

    It's not a bad idea. 

    If people who use those apps can tell thier experiences and write a small review with "-" will be good for the rest who don't try apps if they don't know if it works or/and how it works. 

    The only thing is that the reviews should be checked somehow for their reliability from an objective view. 

  13. Like i  say its not your tv set Your prob try to use  a SRT file to decode on the run .IF it happens with live tv ( or decoder) yes then its your tv :)

     

    but for now   just try to find out what happens   .Can be the resolution  or something like that . And yes iam still not  realy happy. missing a lot of things to setup the tv properly.

     

     

    But the good thing is i Got  WIDI running on my  Home pc :)  so  is can use HBOgo on big screen now . and typing this now  on the big screen

    with a logithech k400 keyboard keys and mouse pointer work both

    In my old LM620A i use to plug the USB stick in one of the TV's USB ports and everything was OK with the subs. 

    Doing it the same way now, my TV doesn't recognise the greek fonts of the SRT file and instead it shows incomprehensible words. 

     

    By the way, thanks for posting the model of your keyboard, i'll get one too.

  14. OK, another bug that i found last night.

    My TV doesn't display properly greek subtitles (they look like "Chinese"). 

    I tryied to change almost everything that was possible, but nothing happened. 

    I hope it'll be fixed with the update.

     

     

    Alleluia ! the update has come today (15/05/2014) and the store is open ! skype, youtube, arte+7 for me !

    Where do you live?

     

    ...And so, if i change the country from the settings will this affect any other settings in my TV?
