For YouTube 2015 models support VP9-video for 4k-videos.It's a codec that YouTube started using this year. 2014 models don't support it. Google play movies app is now in premium apps for download(atleast in Finland). -

2015 models support VP9-video codec that YouTube started using this year for 4k videos. Apparently Lg isn't bringing support for that to 2014 models, atleast I haven't heard anything about that.
