In response to your previous post - I had in mind that we send our signal into space, instead of the correct server LG. 

It's a fkng joke that LG released a beta firmware which can not be downgraded. Another thing that probably was not designed for your TVs. 

 

I'm damn sorry that I can not help you all. 

 

As a consolation - I talked with a few friends and they have similar problems with their TVs Sony, Panasonic, Philips and Samsung of course.

So guys... let us rejoice that we have a beautiful picture...

I remember your post, but I forgot to answer. Sorry about that. Anyway, you see what is the situation with your UF850x. And I don't think so that different model number may cause downgrade problem. All the time I think the problem is in the wrong configuration of the connection between TV, PC and Internet/LG servers. If we are unable to connect to LG servers, wired connection between PC and TV without router will not help us. I also thought about it, the problem is only in fact that for me everything is working properly, so I can't see how it works for you.

Unfortunately, my downgrade attempts using my other modem also failed both for the local and online approaches.

 

I don't think our problem is related to a networking issue (after trying many many different configurations, I believe this way )

 

It seems like our TV does not accept the response file (maybe UF8507 requires some extra steps in the procedure or a response file in a different format) or LG did something on 04.10.10 firmware to block downgrade options   I don't want to loose my hope here but I am getting closer to getting crazy

No, it is rather not do anything. I thought that you might have set up one of these IP addresses. Automatic settings seems to be a good choice. 

 

I thought also about another modem and reset settings, but I'm afraid some of your health.    In the worst case we both go crazy, and maybe dtosun also be joining us. 

 

Well, resetting the TV settings to factory defaults did not work either Simon 

 

I will also try again with my old modem tomorrow and I hope that we will be able to maintain our mental health at the end

I mean, maybe your Internet is the source of the problem. Maybe configuration of the Internet, or something like that. I've tried dozens of times get such situations with my TV, and nothing. I really don't know how to make in_dump file has not been overwritten. If something can be updated, it is also possible that this will outdated. But not in the case of your TVs. It's really annoying, though in general I am a very patient man.

One more thing... DNS settings in laptop or router. Do you have automatic settings? I'm not sure if it's relevant, but in Acrylic log I see Google DNS IP 8.8.8.8 and OpenDNS IP 208.67.220.220.

 

Yes, I have automatic DNS settings; I will change it to 8.8.8.8 or OpenDNS IP and try again.

 

Also, I have another modem, I will try the same procedure with that modem. Also, I will set my TV to factory settings before the procedure; I do not know what I am going to do if this fails too I will let you know about the results.

P.S. I will also try the same procedure on that old Windows XP laptop I have mentioned earlier and let you know about the result in the upcoming days (I am currently using Windows 10 Home Insider Preview Build 10565 and although I disable my firewalls maybe there might be some additional security settings blocking the computer-TV network connection, that is why I always mention that Windows XP machine and want to try the procedure on that too ).

Hey mtuna10. I'm sorry with still no success. The log looks like not being able to recognize your TV, so there is no answer in in_dump file. I think that this 04.10.10 firmware was inappropriate for your TV. I'm still looking for the right solution.

Hi Simon, yes, the problem is almost certainly related to my TV model or its current software version 04.10.10 because I have tried all I could to eliminate any possible network issues.

 

I have picked up an old laptop (with Windows XP) from the office, disabled the Windows firewall, made sure that only this computer and my TV is connected to my router via ethernet (I have even disabled WiFi on my router and on my TV) but still the TV could not find any updates.

 

I guess I am stuck with 04.10.10

Thanks a lot for your help but unfortunately this did not work for me either I have disabled both my Kaspersky and Windows firewalls, then I have downloaded the software file to the "htdocs" folder and modified the "HE_DTV_W15U_AFADABAA" file with the content above and with my computer's IP address but still no luck (the online method also failed), my in_dump.txt file is not updated and my TV cannot find any updates I guess I will have to try this on a different computer, that is my option left.

As I suspected, there is a problem with the connection. Your TV is connected to the router, but there is no connection with PC / DNS and internet - Wi-Fi ile internete baglanilamiyor: 

 

 

In other words, your PC must be connected to Internet while you checking for updates on TV. 

 

 

 

BTW

 

 

 

 

 

 

If it's possible, I suggest you connect TV and PC to Internet by wire. I do not know what's wrong with your Wi-Fi, but it's a reason that you can't do downgrade.

Never give up muiz. I don't understand why in_dump file remains empty, but I'm still working on this.

Are you sure @muiz and @mtuna10 that you are using LgDTVUpDater script downloaded from my tutorial? It's very strange that in_dump file isn't overwrited after 1. to 10. steps done.

BTW @mtuna10, when your in_dump file isn't overwrited, my downgrade instructions for you does not make sense. :/

Please guys, check your connection and make sure that you are using correct version LgDTVUpDater.

Maybe any bugs you can see in Apache/DNS window when it's running.

First of all, yes I am using the LgDTVUpDater script you have shared on the first page of this thread (which is updated on October, 19th) and I am pretty sure that I am following the steps as you described. Now, I would like to share some further details regarding my case hoping that they would help you

 

• So first, some information about my TV (the exact TV model and the WiFi DNS settings that I am using):

 

• Here is the "AcrylicHosts.txt" file that I am using (where 192.168.2.131 is the IP address of my computer): 

• Here is what happens after running startDNS.bat and startHTTP.bat and when I start checking for updates on my TV:

 

• Using the LgDTVUpDater script you shared and after following your instructions described on steps 1 - 10, at the end, the in_dump.txt file is empty for me as shown below.

 

• So, since this online method did not work for me, I also tried the local update method (with "starfish-dvb-secured-lm15u-badlands-4552-03.13.85-prodkey_nsu_V3_SECURED.epk" file located under the "htdocs" folder as shown below and with the "HE_DTV_W15U_AFADABAA" file which I am sharing the contents of):

 

 

Unfortunately though, this local update method did not work for me either.

 

I hope I could be more clear with my problem now. Please let me know if you need any more details from me. Thanks once again for your interest and support, please help me downgrade my TV

1. Where you've got 04.10.10 firmware for UF8507?  

2. Last OFFICIAL firmware for your TV now is 03.20.05.

3. Why would you downgrade to 03.13.85?

4. Your CDN_URL is bad. Port 80 is not needed. It must be like:

http://192.168.2.131/starfish-dvb-secured-lm15u-badlands-4552-03.13.85-prodkey_nsu_V3_SECURED.epk

Please try again or I can give you downgrade instructions to 03.20.05 if you want.

04.10.10 firmware is probably a beta version, I found it on some Russian forum.

 

I would like to downgrade to 03.13.85 because then I would be able to upgrade to the official 03.20.05 firmware via OTA but if it would be the same as downgrading directly to 03.20.05 for me that would be great too

 

I also tried with CDN_URL withouth the port info but that did not work either (my in_dump.txt file never gets updated either way).

 

If possible, please share with me the downgrade instructions to 03.20.05 for my Turkish 49UF8507

I will try this as soon as I get home from work. I was looking at that file yesterday assuming those were the pointer files, but my computer categorizes it as "file," not text file etc. Do I need something special to edit this file? Or is Word or notepad ok?

I also have an LG 49UF8507 Turkish model which is currently on version 04.10.10 and I am trying to downgrade it to 03.13.85 using the HE_DTV_W15U_AFADABAA file you have shared. But when I followed your instructions on LgDTVupdater (i.e. changed the DNS entries on AcrylicHosts.txt and the DNS entry on my TV to my computer's IP address and ran the two .bat files) my TV doesn't find any updates. Also, there doesn't seem to be a problem in the communication between my computer and my TV (i.e. startDNS.bat creates log entries on the command window when I check for updates on my TV).

 

After this method failed, I also tried the local update method using the HE_DTV_W15U_AFADABAA file (I am sharing its contents below, where 192.168.2.131 is the IP address of my computer). I have downloaded "starfish-dvb-secured-lm15u-badlands-4552-03.13.85-prodkey_nsu_V3_SECURED.epk" to the htdocs folder ran the .bat files and checked for updates on my TV but it once again couldn't find any updates.

 

I would really appreciate your help regarding this issue, I want to be able to downgrade my TV Thanks in advance for your interest and support.

changed gateway to match the dns address, this then allowed the process to work.

did you change the gateway on the TV to the IP address of your computer (just like the DNS on TV)?
