  1. The decision to launch 2025 TVs without a replacement for Freeview Play is very poor The G1 like every LG since 2016 except 2020 year had all those apps iPlayer is available because its not one of the Freeview Play group of apps, which are the ones mentioned above and possibly U as well So now we will miss out on all the content in those apps and in the future apps are how live TV might be delivered
  2. I'm afraid it looks like LG have dropped support for Freeview Play this year which means catchup apps like ITVx, 4OD or Channel 5 arent available. This isnt made clear on product pages and not covered well in reviews given how important it is. They've also dropped DTS support this year too. Other brands have adopted Freely to provide catchup and live TV into the future but not LG. Something similar happened to 2020 CX models and it was many months before some of those apps were made available then. Assuming this also affects C5 and B5 this will become more and more talked about until we're able to get LG to sort it out.
  3. 05.70.30 is likely the firmware version not the WebOS version - that TV probably shipped with WebOS 3. LG dont usually update the WebOS on previous TVs - they just fix bugs. New Tvs comes with new WebOS versions. Most apps do run on all WevOS versions but some need WebOS 4 or newer.
  4. A Paramount+ app has been added to the Content Store
  5. I'm now seeing the Paramount+ app in the Content Store
  6. To be fair LG - who wont be reading this anyway - dont develop apps - its the streaming companies themselves who you need to contact. LG provide WebOS and libraries for which the apps are really just fairly simple GUIs - so there's not that much effort needed. An ATV 4K box was an option to get iTunes before that came to WebOS but now it has more apps like Paramount+ - or there are cheap sticks as another option. Apps were one of the benefits of LG in the past but over time several LG advantages are disappearing.
  7. WebOS isnt awful - from the user point of view its just an app launcher and its very quick and easy on a C8 to do that - the apps themselves are quite simple too as they're just GUIs really - the hard work is really done by the libraries within the firmware. I bought a ATV 4K back when there was no ATV app on WebOS but its still useful from time to time like the TvOS ITVx app does support live. For the issue of apps always showing needing update in the Content Store when they dont - then LG support quickly fell back on "try a factory reset before we can help" but its a big job to put back all the settings for each of SDR/HDR/DV for all sources and inputs
  8. You said "WebOS version 3.21.30" - thats a firmware version not WebOS version The C2 has WebOS 7 So you dont need a WebOS update - we need a Paramount+ app to be made available
  9. Are you confusing f/w version with WebOS - a C2 would have WebOS 7 and even a C8 has WebOS 4? Is there a Paramount+ WebOS app available at all?
  10. I believe the apps that content store My Apps says need updating are already up to date so its best to ignore them until this issue is fixed If you get a pop-up message of apps ready for update when you turn on the TV then you need to check each of your apps under All Apps - one of them will genuinely need an update - so manually update it - it wont be same app as My Apps says needs updating This will get rid of the pop-up message but not fix the content store issue
  11. The My Apps section of the content store has been corrupted on my LG and the apps have old icons and names It did not detect the update to ITVx and shows the wrong apps needing updates I scrolled through All Apps (not My apps) and found ITVx and was able to update ITV Hub that way
  12. ITVx app has been released but the My Apps section of the content store has been corrupted on my TV and would not update ITV Hub app to ITVx I scrolled through the All Apps section (not My Apps) and found ITVx and was able to manually update
  13. The My Apps section of the content store on my LG has become corrupted and the apps have old icons and old names It shows the wrong apps needing update and the TV did not update ITV Hub to ITVx when the update was released recently So I scrolled through the apps under All Apps (not My Apps) and found ITVx and was able to update the ITV Hub app to ITVx ITVX does not support live TV on LG TVs I am still investigating my update problems with My Apps section of the content store
  14. I have a variation of this issue - I got the "apps available for update" pop-up message so I went to content store and under My apps there are two apps needing update (UKTV play and Disney+) - I tried to update them - but they are already up to date and and they stay as needing update - Also looking at My Apps - the app icons are old icons with old name and if I click on an app it gives Wrong Region error So I checked the apps under All Apps (not My Apps) and found one app genuinely needing an update (ITV Hub update to ITVx) - now I dont get the pop-up message - but My Apps is still corrupted and wrongly shows two apps needing update I'm trying to resolve with LG support to avoid a factory reset
