I got rid of my lg and got a sony but just spoke to a tv engineer I mentioned the problem with the lg cable not connected etc. He immediately said motherboard said he had done hundreds and said lg have taken the Warranty in store so only they repair under warranty but 1 day after 12 months they are saying take it up with the retailer

The frustrating part is they should be able to solve this in firmware. Like allow people to turn off the messages, or only display the message if the TV stays “disconnected” longer than 5 seconds without reconnecting, or change how they decide it’s disconnected since the TV keeps playing streaming videos with no problems. 3 potential ways to fix without the need for a new motherboard. At least 1 of them is absolutely possible in firmware (allowing consumers to turn off messages).

@ClarksonCote  you are just a helpless ninny unable to something simple and basic for yourself , you wanted me to lead you by the nose,  and I bet if you go into settings in store mode you will find a setting saying store mode settings. Lg are hardly going to leave that out of some TV's unless you bought the cheapest one you could find!

As far as I can tell, on my TV (or the specific OS version) it seems they just never show those notifications in Store Mode, rather than providing an explicit setting to disable them.

If only you were as intelligent as you are arrogant...

Elaborate? Lad do you need a nanny? Set TV into store mode okay? re-open settings as normal and go to "general" then scroll right down to the bottom where you will see a setting that says "Store mode settings" and lo and behold even Stevie Wonder will see the setting to turn off notifications. Lad I am in my 70's and even I had little trouble figuring it out. As I said in my original post I guarantee this is the solution. I see no more annoying Wired Network or any other messages since discovering the solution. After you uncheck the notifications box just switch back to Home Mode and that is it result. It makes no difference that the option to switch notifications on or off is in Store Mode settings as the settings work on the "whole" TV.

There’s no need to act so arrogant and smug.

In my case, there is no such option that appears in General Settings after enabling Store Mode. By the way, in your initial post you described the notification setting as being located in the “upper right” of the TV, which based on your post here was in error and is partly why I asked you to elaborate.

Instead of assuming everyone is an idiot, maybe consider the fact that each TV model has implemented its OS a bit differently and your solution isn’t as “guaranteed” for everyone’s TV as you so quickly assume.

Screenshot below, Home/Store Mode remains the last setting under General after Store mode is set and I’ve gone back into the Settings menus.

The solution is simple and I guarantee it works. Go to Settings-General-Scroll down to Home/Store Mode wher you will easily find the option to turn on or off messages in the upper right of the screen. I had the message Wired Lan cable is disconnected quckly followed by Wired Lan Cable connected appearing constantly and after the above fix all messages stopped for good! My messages began after the recent update to the Disney App the update must have somehow switched on the messages for the upper right of screen by voodoo. Anyway it is the fix that everyone seeks. But how utterly amazing the Technicians at LG don't even know where the issue lies! I have read of service calls parts changed etc. etc. when it is just a simple act of using the menus! Happy Days.

Can you elaborate a bit?  I tried enabling store mode as you suggest, but I don't see any option to turn off messages in the upper right of the screen.  Does that option only appear when the disconnected message appears? Is there a screenshot you could share?  Just trying to discern if this is a potential fix for my own TV, as I would love to have these messages disappear for good.

A technician came to the house today and repaired the TV. Unfortunately, I was not here so I don’t know what he did. This was all a result of me calling into LG tech-support and explaining the problem. LG Tech Support acknowledged that it was a known problem and initiated a local contractor to come out and replace a part in the TV.  So far so good after the repair

Maybe call the technician/company and ask for a description of the work and part replaced?

  6. I have this same behavior now On my OLED55B6P. The only things that have changed:

    1. Verizon replaced my optical network terminal for my Fios service.

    2. I updated my TV’s firmware

I can’t correlate the timing to one vs the other since the error messages about disconnection/reconnection aren’t always there. But since you’re all having the problem too, it seems like it must be some issue with LG’s firmware.

Everything else in my networking, wiring, routers, etc. have been unchanged for years.

    (Some Side rants)
With the most recent firmware update, my Simplink functionality stopped working. I can’t get my LG DVD player and audio system to turn on when I switch to my TV optical output. I requested LG support multiple times on the Simplink issue and have not heard anything. It’s very frustrating.

With the update prior to that, my smart apps have started crashing far more often than they used to.

And the damn Disney+ app, unlike every other app, refuses to let me do a zoom to avoid letter boxing on 16:9 movies. It zooms but then letter boxing remains unchanged. Mind boggling.
    (End side rants)

Also, I tried a factory reset of the TV. It didn’t fix any of these issues.

This is my third LG Flatscreen TV. If this stuff can’t get resolved, it will likely be my last.
