  1. @DarklordBGD   I‘m really pleased with the TV  at the moment, the picture quality is superb to my eyes, so was a little dubious about updating the FW after seeing your post. I might give it a go and upgrade tomorrow via USB after reading the AVForum posts, see if it sorts out my subtitle issue.  This is my second LG Weos tv, I think the user interface is great and the  WebOs 4.5 is way quicker than the WebOs 1 Version on my 2014TV.
    Cheers  Jon

Is it possible to reinstall the WEBOS?  Mine is no longer working at all.  Cannot connect.  Live in USA.

Don’t know if its aplicable but have you tried setting the time and date, mine randomly changes and refuses to load any internet based apps. Worth a try  before a reset if you haven’t already done so.

    Hi

I put the new firmware  05.05.45  in this weekend on my 42LB731V and work's fine.  Indeed the youtube icon on webos menu is changed.

But the major improvement  is TLS 1.2 (Transport Layer Security ) wich are cryptographic protocols that provide communications security over a computer network, and is global not only for Russia.

So I guess,  is OK to install this update.

My model number 43lb731-VE is listed so I’m downloading as we speak.. Mihai can you tell me if you use the simplink function and is it working ok. Cheers Jon

  4. Hi guys, I have a strange problem and wondered if anybody has a similar issue. The issue is when switching TV channels after first starting (satellite connection on the rear of TV used). The TV locks up and prevents changing of the channels. You can change and use all other device source and volume controls no problems.then you change back to TV and still no channel selection available. Left for a while it seems to correct itself. This has happened as far as I can remember for all 05.xx.xx firmware versions even after various attempts of resetting of the TV

    1. Turn TV onfrom standby, normally turned off on the TV input.

    2. Flick through channels to find suitable program.

    3. After 20-30seconds flicking 4 or 5 channels the TV Locks up for 1-2 minutes unable to change TV channels.

    4. After waiting a while the TV changes channels.

    5. All working as normal.

    Regards Jon

  5. Well got a suprise this morning. My 42LB731 auto updated to the new 05.05.35 software. Forgot that I'd ticked the check box for auto update. Working as normal at the moment, no noticeable difference. No full reset as can not be bothered setting up again, probably will do one when I get the urge. Good on LG they're still looking after us 1st gen WebOs owners even though we don't see any significant changes.

  6. After upgrade I cannot log to my account anymore. It says that service is not temperary available. Anyone with same problem ?

I have the same account problem, also unable to open the LG store to get apps. Mladjokis have you made a full reset after the install?. I haven't and don't want to because I may loose all my app and will not be able to download them.

  7. It's a good sign, LG are still tinkering with this firmware for the older TV's. I'm still not going to install the beta versions just just.

On th 5.00.60 software I've only had 1 app close to free up memory whilst using the WWW app, as always graphic heavy websites tend to crash the memory or so it seems. It still a little quicker navigating through the menus and i'm happy with it.

  8. Everbody has their own opinions. On my set the new software seems better than before and I'm going to stay with it. I had a problem with a couple of firmwares before so downgraded. If your happy with other firmwares thats ok, no problem. People hear are only tring to help other who are in a similar postion (not quite happy with the LG tv/firmware) you have 2 options Opt 1, buy new tv or Opt 2, continue to find best firmware for your preferences through a process ilimination.

  9. Well I've updared. Does look a bit snappier again. Haven't done a full reset yet because I only factory reset a few days ago and cant be botherd to set all the settings again so soon. Time will tell. Still no out of memory errors as per 3.--.-- and early 4.--.-- softwares and off course no arc issues. As for the picture quality with the older softwares I thought there was a degrade but after fiddling with the picture settings I manged to get back to similar quality as before. I'm just glad that LG seem to be supporting this early software/TV for free. They may not be monumentos upgrades but LG must be doing something as issues are getting less. Thats my Opinion anyway.

  10. Took the chance and installed 05.00.60 over. 55. No problems, no hassle, but no visible or noticeable changes either.

I wish they'd include a possibility to program recordings in the program list in the upper screen menu.

You must use the record facility. Do you suffer from sound glitches in the recorded content, I suffer from high pitched bleeps & burbles ( the best way to describe it) every 5-8 minutes. I don't record that much but it makes you jump if your watching a quiet scene with the volume a little louder than normal. I've had this over the last few updates
