Guys, I can see this thread is old 4 years, anyway...

I had the same problem with refreshing SmartShare PC client, cuz it' was not showing the newly added videos.

Now, the refresh button in the right bottom corner actually doesn't do anything. To do a a refresh go to settings->My shared content-> and there is a refresh button in the right top corner. Apply->OK-Exit.

P.S. If you are downloading something in the shared folders, this refresh won't do anything, isntead it will refresing forever. So, first download, then refresh.

I deal with this by running the file through Subtitle Edit on my PC before
plugging  the hdd into the TV.  It can handle embedded and external subtitles

And also .ass tags in .srt files for positions are not handled, instead we see the tags like this {an/8} and the three dpts (...) are on top instead of bottom of the line.

I used to watch like that with hdd plugged, now I use LG smart share. The LG player on my TV is not so simple. There is choices for color, size, encodings, external and internal subs, synchronization,  but opaque box is what is missing. When there are bright scenes you can't read the subs properly. I think they could add choice for transparency of the opaque box.

Can you add opaque box for subtitlws when we warch from smart share, external hdd etc... so practicly in thw subtitle menu choose for opaque box and transparency. Thanks in advance
