You simply need to disable Intel Management Engine Driver in system devices in Device manager (Win+X+M) , then it works flawlessly every damn time, it's not LG's fault, it is Intel's . You can enable it once connected and what's more, if you change projection mode to 2nd screen only, you can use your pc at 2560x1600 @30Hz.
