I like you ran into the same problem (updated version on your TV). To my luck on the site of LG is the old version of my TV 42lb690v Spending a small amount of time I was able to revert to the old firmware. http://blog.techflaws.org/2014/05/26/firmware-downgrade-for-lg-smart-tvs/ The method proposed there to help me.
