Browser incompatible with replay or live TV (Auvio and RTLPLay)

Sylvie G

Question

When I try to watch replay or live TV from Belgian casts in the browser I have error messages:

- for Auvio (RTBF) it is purely incompatible

- for RTLPlay , the message says that the browser version is too old and has to be updated.

But...

It is impossible to install alternative browser on LG smart TV, or to update the LG one.

WebOS is not really a good idea, or at least it should be more "open" for the apps that are not proposed or updated.

I know it is possible to share from other machines (tablet, phone or computer) but I want to use my TV "alone" too!

Do you have a solution (other then buying a chromecast or equivalent device?)

Thank you

Indeed a big problem with WebOS and LG televisions: the web browser is not up to speed.
Concerning Auvio, the Belgian TV company has now developped a WebOs application and this one works fine on LG televisions.
For RTLPlay, there is a WebOS application, but it offers a very limited contents with respect to the www.rtlplay.be web site.
Unfortunately, the contents of the latter cannot be viewed due to "incompatible web browser" :-(

      Hello.

Some tutorials explain how to do it.
We first need to root the TV with scripts such as RootMyTV, and then install dts_restore.
Both tools are free and available at github.
I'm not writing the links because I don't know if it's allowed in this forum and because I take no responsibility.

      My question is:
Has anybody tried this process? Does it work?
The documentation says if you have any problem you can just factory reset the TV, but I don't dare to do it.

I recently updated the firmware on my  LG43UH610V.  Now I constantly get "Wired Lan cable disconnected" / "Wired network is connected" messages even while watching a video file from my NAS. The TV is connected and using the network while getting these messages. It has always been on a fixed IP address on the LAN.
