iFollow (English football) Video Stream compatibility?

Recommended Posts

I have recently purchased a LG 55NANO86 TV.  Great TV which I am still getting used to!  I have a question about compatibility of the LG built in web browser functionality with the iFollow football streaming service, used in the UK (and elsewhere).  This is a paid for service which allows streamling of live football games.  I have tried several times unsucessfully to use the built in LG browser on the TV to access and watch a game.  Whilst it successfully shows the iFollow website and allows purchase of the stream, unfortunately the link to the live stream which should pop up a window with the stream, fails to load properly and leaves either a blank screen or a screen with the stop icon displayed.  Does anyone know if this is a known incompatibility issue or am I doing something wrong?  I have used the same iFollow website to view historical match highlights and this works without problem.

[Fortunately I can stream the iFollow stream to my iPad and then use an AV adaptor to mirror it to the TV so I can still get the match to the TV, but I would prefer to do his without the hassle of connecting the iPad.]

Any suggestions/advice welcome.

Malcolm

So my club say that you cannot watch it through the tv.

i also have the same issues as you. I can watch highlights on the same site but can’t watch the live games.

unsure if this is a browser compatibility issue? As it states edge, IE and Opera are not supported.

so any advice from others would be great fully received.

is it possible to install another os on the Tv?

Hi

I posed the issue to iFollow and they replied....

“the service does not support the following devices or features:

- Android boxes
- Smart TV devices
- Airplay or Chromecast functionality

You can try using an HDMI cable however we can not guarantee the quality of the picture if watching that way as our service was not designed for it.”

So looks like its just not supported on Smart TVs.  Shame as it would make it much simpler to watch. However, linking by HDMI cable via AV adaptor  from an iPad does work (for me) and picture quality is excellent.

I  have just bought an LG Smart Tv and have tuned it in via freeview and the guide shows that i have all the channels installed. However I am a Racing tv subscriber and the guide shows channel 261 as installed but when i try to access it I get a message saying 'Invalid Service' with an animation and a blank screen. I had no issues with my previous tv so am a little baffled by the fact that i cant receive racing tv on my brand new LG tv. Is this a compatibility problem or is that i need a flash player installed to stream racing tv. Can someone please offer a reason and a solution for this as it is driving me batty.

Videos from certain websites are unable to play on browser after latest update to webOS 5.50.55. In the first image there should be a play icon on the video player

I play video files from a USB stick via the Photos and Videos app - is there any way to show which files have been played most recently? I generally watch downloaded series but tend to forget which episode I watched last!

Getting ARC HDMI to work permanently with Arcam SA30
I am trying to get the HDMI ARC to work from LG OLED55B6V to Arcam SA30.
I can do this by removing all other HDMI cables from the TV and then configuring to work. This is OK for some time, but then going back to it means going through the whole process again.
Does anyone know of a way to set this up permanently?

First, I have search other forums and documentation.  Haven’t found a solution.
I am not asking about an AT&T TV app.  I know there is not one at this time. I’m talking about the service provider that is specified in webOS.  This is what is used by Lists and Guide to show current broadcast television.   The closest service provider listed is AT&T U-verse, which is not AT&T TV.  Btw AT&T TV Now is also not on the list but also is not AT&T TV either.  Without the correct service provider I get wildly incorrect broadcast information.  Is there a work around or any plans to add AT&T TV to the broadcaster list.  Again, I am not talking about an app.  I am talking about the broadcaster list.
      Thank you.
