I have a one year-old model 43UK6500AUA, with standard remote only (no Magic Remote). I can find no mention anywhere of Time Machine. Does this model not include Time Machine  II functionality? Must one have a Magic Remote to reveal this feature? I am also baffled by numerous references in the forum to using HDMI , which should not be necessary if using the TV's built-in tuner, as I intend to do. There is also mention of using USB3 for the external HDD. My TV has only  two  USB ports : USB1 and USB2 — or does this refer to USB 3.0 version (as opposed to USB 2.0)?

There’s a trend here. After Samsung and Vizio, LG is also adding support for Apple’s ecosystem to its TV operating system webOS. Specifically, people who buy an LG  TV in 2019 should be able to share content to their TVs using AirPlay 2. TVs will also be compatible with HomeKit, letting you create custom scenarios and control your TV using Siri.
“Many of our customers may also happen to have Apple  devices,” Senior Director of Home Entertainment Product Marketing Tim Alessi said during the company’s CES press conference. “LG has been working with Apple as well to create a streamlined user experience. So I’m very pleased to announce today that we’re adding Apple AirPlay to our 2019 TVs.”

If you have an iPhone, iPad or Mac, you can send video content to your TV using the AirPlay icon in your favorite video app. You can also mirror your display in case you want to show some non-video content.
2019 LG TVs also support AirPlay audio, which means that you can send music and podcasts on your TV, pair your TV with other AirPlay 2-compatible speakers.
New LG TVs also support HomeKit. It means that you can add your TV to the Home app on your iOS device and Mac. After that, you can control basic TV features from the Home app. You can also assign Siri keywords so that you can manage your TV using Siri on your iOS device or HomePod.
HomeKit support lets you create custom actions. For instance, you can say “Hey Siri, turn on the TV” and have Siri turn on the TV and dim your Philips Hue lights.
Unlike Samsung, LG didn’t announce an iTunes app. So you can’t rent or buy movies and TV shows straight from your TV. Buying something from your phone and then using AirPlay is still a bit clunky.
LG also said that 2019 TVs come with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant support. But this is less surprising as you can find hundreds of devices that support those voice assistants.
Finally, the company is adding a home dashboard to control a wide variety of home devices from your TV. Details are still thin on this feature. It’s unclear whether LG will roll out some of all of these software features to old TVs.
Watching all TV manufacturers add AirPlay and HomeKit support one by one reminds me of the year TV manufacturers all announced native Netflix apps for their TV. It’s clear that Apple is following in Netflix’s footsteps and opening up. Apple has been working on a subscription-based streaming service for months. And the company wants to support as many devices as possible.

Any idea how to make this work? I have paired various apps including the LG Tv Plus app and I have also got "Mobile TV On" set to on. TV is connected via WiFi and also ethernet cable. However when I turn off the TV via any of the apps the tv then also disappears from the network thus I cannot access it to turn it on. I have tried to use Mobile TV On with just Wifi turned on or with just Ethernet Cable turned on as well as both but no luck either way. Any ideas what Im doing wrong here? Many thanks.
My TV is on software 04.70.20 and its model number is 55UJ634V-ZD. Many thanks.

      TVset: SM90107LA  (europe/german model)   /   WebOS: 04.80.02
When scheduling a planned record of a TV broadcast by using the electronic program guide data (EPG), often the last minutes of the broadcast are missing at the records. This is very annoying. Fortunately you can adjust the starting and ending time of a planned (future) record in that manner that you can, for example, extend the ending time by 5 or 10 minutes. This is very helpful.
Unfortunately this option is not available for instant records either from the EPG screen or by direct recording. Here I have only the opportunity to completely change the EPG ending time of the running record to an own time value (e.g. record of 1 h from now). It would be more helpful if running records could also be extended a little bit but without loosing the end time of the record taken over from EPG.
Are there any other solutions for it?

The other morning I had 3 pop ups from different phones trying to connect to  my tv.  After reading online I came to the conclusion it was they were trying to connect through WIFI Direct. There was no solution on the screen share app.  I had turned off connected apps and that didn't help.  I checked my router and there were no strange devices.  I read that you do not need to be on the same network to connect through WIFI Direct. I contacted LG 3 times.  First , I got on chat.  They told me to reset to initial settings and that would fix things.  It didn't and erased all my expensive professional calibrations to boot.  Then I called,  they originally told me these people have to be on my home network, but then,  when I told them what I learned about WIFI Direct, discussed it and said I was right and there was noting I can do.  Lastly, I emailed them and was told to turn off Listening Mode.  Listening Mode is no longer available in my Screen Share App.
So, does anyone know a way to stop strange phones from trying to connect through WIFI Direct?    While I am grateful they gave us a chance to say no to these pop ups there is no end to annoyance with having to deal with them.
