Hosted web app, can't scrolling!

Recommended Posts

Hello

I created a simple 'Hosted Web App' application, for webos 3.x .

.
.
.
<html>
    <head>
        <meta http-equiv="refresh" content="0;url=https://ubuntu.com/">
    </head>
</html>
.
.
.

link hidden, please login to view

A simple redirect to another page, and it works correctly. But there is a weird problem.

The page won't scroll vertically!

I even tried CSS styling with:

overflow: scroll

But wasn't useful. anyway to enable scrolling in a 'hosted web app'?

Thank you

      Dear All,
      I'm new here hoping to find a solution to my problem, after now trying around for almost two days without any result.
      My set-up:
      - LG OLED55C97LA OLED TV
      - Nubert nuPro X-3000 (Pair of active speakers)
      The active speakers are connected to the TV via HDMI-ARC on both sides. I'm aware that my configuration might be a bit unique, however I have the feeling that it is the TV / webOS which is messing arround with me.
      After connecting my speakers to the HDMI-ARC, changing the TVs output to the HDMI 2 (ARC) is started the device configuration. I was glad, as typing in "Nubert" into the device selection of both "Home cinema system" or "Bluetooth / Soundbar", the webOS brought up a configuration to select.
      During the "try-out" phase of the configuration process, turn on and off the power of the speakers works perfectly - even very fast! After configuration, sound comes through the speakers very well and I can adjust the volume. However, when I turn of the TV the speakers will remain on. Same vice versa when trying to turn everything on by only starting the TV.
      Does anyone face a similar problem and might have a workaround for this? It is very frustrating and annoying, as it works perfectly in the configuration - but not later on.
      Thanks for your help!

      OK. I have a 2018 LG Smart TV model OLED65C8PUA.   The TV  'magically' recognizes and (badly) displays/ plays the 2gb of photos, videos and audio residing on my Western Digital 4TB My Passport  external hard drive I have. The problem is the TV is the ONLY device that WILL RECONIZE THE DRV! 8 diffirent computers running from Vista to Win 10 have given me 'DRV (x) is not accessable'. At one time the drv was password protected and it worked fine. The exact password was lost so I tried a number of variations and was able to finally unlock the drv and remove the password  using WD Utilities. It worked for a bit and I was able to copy out a few files using a Surface Pro/ Windows 10  but it stopped and now with that Surface Pro and the other windows machines  I get `D is not accessible. The parameter is incorrect'.  I even put it on a Samsung smart TV - none will read the drv, ONLY THE LG!  The LG also displays the DRV'S volume label and  content filenames as well.
      I want to copy these files before the drive fails as the catch here is the LG seems to produce one or two "unrecognized files' every time I use it and some of these videos are one-of family heirlooms! I want to avoid another $300 data recovery bill if possible. And if the LG can read it one would think there is a way forward.
      Any suggestions will be most appreciated!

      OLED65B8 webOS browser won't accept password for Amazon.com account.  Winows Chrome on desktop or Android phone both sign in normally.
      I have several other account sign-ins that do the same thing -- work on desktop but not on TV.  What's going on?

      So LG has put webOS on TVs, projectors, and now cars with webos auto. Does anyone thing LG will ever produce a webos powered smartphone or tablet? I know samsung has tried with tizen and it was only with the palm pre 2 and touchpad from HP that we saw webos on these types of devices. Just curious on what everyone thingks. Here's what webos used to look like..

      Every time I use the scrollwheel on the amazing LG remote for the 55" OLED55B7V TV nothing happens, until I realize I am scrolling in the wrong direction.
      For everyone not accustomed with PCs, ie the whole mobile generation and all of us on the Apple platform, the so called "natural" scrolling aka "inverted scrolling" is what feels right. If I want the content on my screen to go up to reveal more content, I scroll the wheel up. On PCs and WebOS, you scroll the viewport, not the content, so you have to scroll down to make the content move up.
      If it would be up to me, the default should be natural scrolling, but at least give me an option to change the scrolling behaviour! For me, the current behaviour is just jarring each and every time I want to scroll!
      Moving a viewport is the old paradigm. Moving the content, as you do every day on your phones and tablets and PCs with touch screens, is how we interact now.

      Hi,

      Can someone guide me on how to install Web (URL based Webapp) on TV?
      Also, is it required to export app from LG IDE just for LG Inspector(if not needed)?

      Thanks.
