Tv firmware and webOS

Recommended Posts

This might serm like a dumb question but I was wondering in theory what can be accomplished if a tv is rooted? For example a b6 series oled on webOS 3.0, if it was rooted could we (in theory) unstall custom firmware or OS like a rooted handset? Would it be possible to create a fw that could add HLG hdr from latest lg update but without ruining perfect black (like the latest lg update did)? I have been told that realistically it will probably never be able to do this (basically fix lg's latest update without lg's help) since we cant unpack or decrypt the update file or cant sign the keys or use proper encryption.....idk?
