Hello to all :)

I am searching of wathcing movies and staff with Kodi on my LG Webos

Kodi installation is on a Windows 7 pc and in the same local network a LG webos TV exists.
I want, over this network (not HDMI), to stream, watch material from kodi to the TV.

Not necessary to control Kodi from TV as it's from an Android TV but, for example, to select a movie from Exodus and instead of watching it in PC, watch it (stream it) in TV without the need of download it first.

Any ideas on how to accomplish that?

Thanks

Maria

Hi all, spent a while trying to figure out how to screen share laptop to tv without any cables & stuff.First you need to add your laptop & tv to your network.Go to device manager & select add devices, as long as your tv is set to the same wifi network as your laptop it should pick It up, add your laptop 1st it should show up as desktop.Go to tv settings, network, select connect by wifi direct, you'll see the setting set to off, hit that button & it'll start searching for devices, it should pick your laptop up, once it's picked it up select it, it should then give you a pin, go back to device manager on laptop then select add device again, it should pick your tv up, select, it should ask for a pin, the one which is displayed on your tv, once entered your tv is now on your network. You can only mirror your laptop to tv via screenshare on your apps at the bottom, you must go into this 1st, it should come up with your device is now ready to connect, now go to bottom right on your laptop & select the action button, a few options will come up, select project, you'll get a few options about how you want to mirror, select duplicate, then at the bottom of these options you should see connect to a wireless device, it should pick your tv up, once it's found it simply select the icon & it should say connecting, you should also see something on your tv saying connecting to desktop & that's it, this is all in windows 10.It works for me & whatever is on my laptop is now on my tv, I'm using kodi on my laptop & screening everything to tv without any wires or any cables,Hope this helps

I did a refresh of my LG TV 3 days ago. Sold the old LG 47" 3D LED TV and bought new 55" LG Super UltraHD TV with WebOS. I believe, the biggest con of this new TV is WebOS. Its totally frustrating. Sorry for WebOS fans.
It isn't that smart and functional they way it looks. The problem I having since 3 days and being a network engineer, I am unable to solve a network issue myself which is even more frustrating for me.
Ok, let me explain the issue. The TV when installed was connected to LAN cable to my router which has direct internet connection. The TV works and none of the apps were working. Basically TV wasn't able to connect to internet via apps. If i open web browser, it was working fine with all webpages showing correctly.
I'll skip the part of contacting LG support which was useless. All troubleshooting steps like resetting, formatting, changing time zone, location, region was done but no luck. Finally I connected the TV via mobile hotspot and it just worked which gave me the clue that some ports are being blocked by my ISP or router.
My internet setup is this way. Internet cable from ISP -> ISP Modem (can do NAT and work as router) - WiFi Router (NAT, DHCP, etc) -> all LAN clients. I put my LG TV in DMZ, opened all ports, etc but no luck. Then I converted my ISP modem as router and connected the LG TV directly to it and it started working..!!!
My WiFi Router is TP-Link Archer C7 and I was using stock firmware. Thought it was creating issues and I installed DD-WRT, Open-WRT but no luck at all. The apps which were installed in TV when TV was connected directly to modem are still working fine. Youtube, Plex, Netflix, etc all are working but when I open LG Content Store, it just refuses to load.
I am not sure what wrong my TP-Link router is doing. There is something wrong with the LG TV content store. If it requires to open ports, then I would like to know which ones.
Sorry for the long port, may be my frustration of 3 days with no luck.!!

      Hi everyone,
It seems that the Window command "Read on device" don't work properly with My LG UH661V.
      The problem:
Once the video start, it will just stop and get back to main menu after a minute or so. If I try to change the video timeline, it stops immediately. But it seems to only happen if the file content isn't longer than ~30 minutes. Minor issues:
With AVI files and MKV files, the timeline just don't work. Trying to change the time just result in an error message on the TV. Other points:
The WebOS is up to date. Windows OS is Windows 10, up to date too. Tried to read on Xbox One and a Samsung TV, and it works just fine. Only happen with LG TV. Any thoughts on this?
      Thanks !

Hello, I have been enjoying my OLED B6 WebOS 3.0 model for half year. Just out of the sudden my two Windows machines with LG SmartShare app cannot discover my TV anymore. So I can still stream movies if I go to my TV Photos and Videos app and it detects my computer media service(s), so I can select desired video and watch it. However I cannot start streaming from my two Windows 10 computers - each computer detects another one, however TV is not detected, I cannot right click on video file in SmartShare app and find TV set under "Play to" menu.
My TV and main PC have wired connection with my router, another Windows machine is laptop with WIFI only. I have tried to disable/enable TV's wired and wifi internet settings... no luck ;-/

      Any hints?..
