WebOS TV Firmware version

Recommended Posts

I've just installed the 5.99.99 firmware on my 42 LB650V (UK) and i can confirm there is a definite improvement in web OS speed for me, Q.menu is now actually reasonably quick, still not quite instant but definitely an vast improvement over the previous 4.4 whatever it was, also a lot faster at navigating around my external HDD.

I'll add the link to the site but I can't take credit for it

direct link to 5.99.99 firmware

Installation instructions (USB must be FAT32)

The root directory of the USB-drive, create a folder "LG_DTV" and copy the firmware file. Turn on the TV, insert a USB flash drive. You will see a message "open in smart ball", select "No", and then will be prompted to upgrade. The installation progress can be seen in the Settings-General-Information on the TV. Do not turn off the TV or remove the USB flash drive until the end of the upgrade process.

i am from india having LG 42LB750T running 4.65.5 S/W version

OMG, please don't update your TV's with unofficial or beta firmwares from suspicious and unreliable locations, unless you want to "brick" your tv set and lose your warranty.  :o

Just calm down and wait for the new official updates, and at the end of this year a completely new webOS 2.0.

I wasn't encouraging people to do it, simply sharing my experiences, my TV was becoming unbearable to use because it was so slow, I understood the risks and was prepared to buy a new TV(probably not an LG though) if things wen't wrong, happily everything is fine and the TV is a lot faster than it was before, it'll do until I get a new one at the end of the year.

Tonight I had the ' update to 4:45:25 . but this update did not solve the problems that this emblematic firmware features , except for a small increase of speed I have not found another , the TV channels are mixed equally , causing unbel casino , ( = satellite channels mixed mixed ) by inserting the headphones lg blutooth the TV continues to switch the sound to the internal speakers when the headset is turned off or loses connection , making a mess if it happens at night , but what they think of these gentlemen lg that their customers are all fools ?
if you do not give in the short time we will begin to loose a good report it on the web so massive , it is time to put in mind that their clients should treat them well and not caring after that have trimmed a big rip-off !
six months and then present an alternative firmware that does not solve a gan chem yuck !!!!!!!!

Hi, where's the truth about WebOS 2.0 for the 2014 models? I found various info... and the LG support replied evasive - that "the 2014 models will get an update with some of the elements and features of WebOS 2.0". I was considering buying the 47LB678V, but now I'm not sure.

Thanks

Just updated my 49UB850V (Ireland) to version 04.55.25 And is giving terrible trouble on live broadcasts like Football , Sports. Can only describe it as a judder effect. Tried adjusting  True Motion Control with no effect. Really disapointed at LG For allowing this to happen. This version did fix my magic remote problem but what use is it when you are getting a deplorable picture. Anyone having same issue.... Regards

Hi, where's the truth about WebOS 2.0 for the 2014 models? ... [shortened]

Just an update: I've received a straight answer from LG support, that there wil be no WebOS 2.0 via Update for the 2014 models, and generally for models running older WebOS... (well, who knows if that's really true for all those models, because of the other official press statements saying otherwise -for higher models/series).

Anyhow, I'm no longer concerned ... decided to rather go with Panasonic TX-48AX630 (and I'm absolutely happy with it). Bye
