No, you can't use USB bluetooth dongle (I tried, went through 3 pieces, all the 'unknown device is connected').

TV already have bluetooth module, but webos doesn't want to see not LG devices, only 'lg tone' bluetooth headset and lg bluetooth soundbar. I'm sure - it's only software limit, perhaps especially...

I think, if you write about 'bluetooth support' in tv device - you MUST support A2DP, otherwise what's the point in bluetooth in TV???

+1 for A2DP in WebOS WishList - I think it is the most desired feature that can be very easy to implement! (i am programmer)

I also have had to buy a headset lg 730, because I have other bluetooth headsets with same features but are not detected by the tv lg, do it on purpose to earn more I think, but the thing that makes me angry is that you buy the bluetooth headset to listen without disturbing especially at night.
However if by chance you lift the signal goes off or the battery is discharged the TV automatically switches to the internal speakers, causing considerable disturbance.
This is not acceptable.
because the volume of the headset bluetooth and the same as adjusting the internal speakers. Note that instead of the volume of the 'normal audio headphone output has the separate volumes compared to those of the' internal speaker.

I like to help and make this wish stronger.

I hope the WebOS TVs (e.g. UB850T) will support not only LG proprietary Bluetooth sound bar / headset,

It must also supports all 3rd parties A2DP Bluetooth headset (e.g. LG, Sony, Samsung, Motorola, Jabra, Plantronics, etc. just to name a few).

It must allows TV users to discover (search), pair and stream the audio from TV (SRC) to headset (SNK).

Yeah, only work with LG Bluetooth headphones is a problem.  The LG headphone is so bad on power indicator.  When you turn on, it tells you either "power high" or "power medium".  There is no "power low".  But then just when it's about to run out, it tells you "power is VERY low.  charge now".  You can't charge and use it that the same time.  How about tell more useful power usage, like "power 40% full" and say it when you power off, so that I can charge it while not being used.

For the TV, I agree with all the users above.  I need to support standard 3rd party headphone.  I previously owned a few bluetooth headphones but I had to purchased a stupid LG headphones in order to use it.

Hello everyone. I would like to join and support this wishlist feature:

All WebOS TVs should support not only LG proprietary Bluetooth sound bar / headset, but also all 3rd parties A2DP Bluetooth headsets. I have a LG 49UB850v and it's a real shame on LG to try and make money on their own LG sound bars or bluetooth headsets.

We should all write to LG after sales support and ask them to include this feature in the next software update for our TVs. Does someone know which could be the most suitable LG service to send the our request?

COME ON LG

Please enable Bluetooth A2DP support. This feature is essential.

WE ALL WAITING.

IT USE TO WORK ON MY PREVIOUS LG 42LE5300

Hi

I have an LG TV (webos) and Samsung (Tizen) and both only connect to their own brand via Bluetooth. It seems all manufacturers are trying to establish their own ecosystem and push sales of their own devices. Not sure about Sony (Android TV) but would not be surprised if they are the same.

      Hi everyone,
I wish LG would consider updating their Codecs list or at least give us a way of installing this codecs in our TV manually. i know my TV is capable of playing a lot of stuff but i'm always stuck with "not supported" for most of the media i have.
One of the most wished stuff i'd love to see is
Added support for H.264 10bit (still very popular and used a lot)
as well as Opus codecs (its a Free codec and its getting a lot use recently especially with H.265 MKV videos)
Like i said, please add this codecs and more or at least give us a way of doing it ourselves. i know there might be legal issues and some codecs are payed, so just let us install it ourselves instead.
      Thanks.

I have an LG 43UR80006LJ TV. Because of hearing difficulties, I generally use bluetooth iphone earpods headphones when watching the TV.  As far as I have been able to determine, there appears to be no way to use the headphones and also have the TV speakers working at the same time. This means that if I'm watching TV, no one else can watch and listen unless they have headphones.  Am I missing something?  Is there a way to have the headphones and TV speakers working at the same time? Thx

      Dear LG TV developers,
I am glad to see that LG Smart TV has a built-in web browser and LG API supports "openBrowserAt" so that my smart home controller can open a web page on the TV. However, nowadays, we also have ms-teams online meeting that is accessible through web browser which the LG TV supports. However, this requires the browser to have a microphone to record audio and to have a webcam for video recording. Also, certain smart-home systems also need built-in microphone to record voice commands so that no additional standalone unit is required next to the TV.
Unfortunately, LG Smart TV (I have OLED48A1PTA) does not have microphone neither does it support USB mic/webcam. So I am writing this post to suggest that future middle/higher-end LG Smart TV can be equipped with these. Moreover, it might be possible for TV firmware update to add the support of USB webcam/microphone so that they can be used in web browsers for web-based online meeting.
Thank you very much for your consideration!
      Best regards,
      Xuancong

55UJ651V After a few minutes, the Bluetooth clicks and disconnects. Sometimes it then re-starts the tv into the on mode, with nothing selected. It will not find the bluetooth device again. Unless, I try a different Blutooth device and then it does the same thing all over again. Is there any answer to this - or does the module need replacing. There seems to be a lot of discussion online regarding Bluetooth issues with LG. I have hearing issues and must use headphones! This is impossible!
