  1. Apple has been rolling out the Apple TV app to many different platforms, including smart TVs, games consoles, and third-party streaming devices like the Amazon Fire Stick or Roku streaming sticks. In a slight twist, the company is also launching a ‘Apple TV+’ app for older LG webOS TVs. Update: The TV+ app is also now available on older Samsung smart TV models. The launch was first spotted by FlatpanelsHD, and later confirmed by an LG support document. The standard Apple TV app is available on 2018 and newer LG webOS TVs. This special Apple TV+ app is targeted at 2016 and 2017 models. Although the name and logo is different, the actual app experience appears identical to the TV app — except that you can only watch TV+ content. The Watch Now and other iTunes Store tabs are simply missing. Somewhat comically, that means this app has just three tabs in the top navigation — Apple TV+, Search and Settings. It also means that the Up Next functionality previously found in the Watch Now tab is now awkwardly located as an inline row at the top of the tv+ page. It is true that many proponents of Apple TV+ — including me — have wanted less focus on the iTunes Store in the TV app in order to focus on the content available to us with the subscription, but this particular stripped-down incarnation is not quite what we had in mind. 2. LG announced today in its press release that AppleTV+ is coming to LG webOS TVs. In 2020, a new Apple TV app will be released and customers with 2018 and 2019 LG webOS TVs will also be able to download the app: LG’s award-winning webOS smart TV platform will bring 2020 LG OLED and LG NanoCell TVs a plethora of programming from the constantly-growing number of top global content providers through apps and services such as Disney+, Netflix and CBS All Access. New for 2020, the Apple TV app allows customers to subscribe and watch Apple TV+ and Apple TV channels as well as access their iTunes video library and buy or rent more than 100,000 films and TV shows. Customers with 2018 and 2019 LG TV models will also be able to enjoy the Apple TV app this year.
  3. It worked for 2 minutes and now I can't get it working again. Tried power cycling it, no dice. Also casting from Youtube is terribly unstable. I'm running 03.10.60 of the LG webOS software is that helps and on 14.2.1 on my iPhone 12 Pro Max Could it be that my TV is faulty?
  4. Anybody know the easist way to get Apple TV + viewable on a late 2017 Smart 65" LG OLED? Is LG going to change it software so that you can easily access via the smart remote?
  5. Please add Apple Airplay 2 Support to WebOS back to 2018/2017 models (where HW allows to). For audio steaming to Apple HomePods this is essential; although I‘m mostly using AppleTV with my LG OLED TV, for other apps or live TV I can‘t get the HomePods to use. I‘ve seen this request in various forums but not here in the WishList - hence this post: it‘s fair to say that there is legitimate and popular demand.
