You're right, looks like the latest version of the Netflix app change this behaviour. :-( -

If I remember correctly, pressing the info button during playing a movie in the Netflix app, the resolution is displayed at the top left corner. -
Go to http://www.lg.com/ca_en/support/software-firmware , make a search with your model number.

From LG web site : [04.05.25] 1.Apply the EPA specification. - Notify ?the energy consumption may be affected? message if picture mode is changed and ABC/MEC is changed.(APS<-> Other picture mode) 2. Change the Picture Quality setting.

I found that the picture quality is less than Netflix. The UI is very basic like there is no indication of what you have seen (bad when watching TV series) and it seems impossible to select the audio output language. I have experienced a few lockups too. -
