My fix is the following, and is guaranteed to solve the issue with these annoying messages. Firstly my Router is in my kitchen and TV in the sitting room, too far and awkward for a lengthy Ethernet cable. So I bought a top of the range TP link Range Extender, RE650 model. Originally connected to my LG SK8000PLB by Ethernet cable. Like everyone else each time my Router blinked for a split second up came the message Wired Lan cable disconnected, immediately followed by Wired Lan cable connected. Now the easy and permanent fix is simply this, you buy a USB 3 to Ethernet adapter, plug the Ethernet cable from your Range Extender into the Ethernet end of the adapter and plug the USB end into a spare slot on your TV and you have internet connection. Your TV will now report in settings that you are not connected either by wired or Wifi connection. So therefore you will never see the annoying messages again. An added bonus is that as your TV Ethernet port is 10/100 you now increase the speed that your TV is getting from your Internet connection. For example I have gigabit and on Netflix speed test before using USB connection I was getting 94 mbs max, I am now getting 310 mbs on Netflix test. When you initially connect your Internet via USB it will take a few moments for your TV to adjust but it is only moments. I promise this is the solution, my soundbar still works perfectly and all visuals are as they should be. The reason I tried this solution and found it works perfectly is my upstairs PC internet connection  was slow  so used the same method for it, and decided to try it on my TV and problem of annoying messages are permanently in the past. I think I have proven it is not an LG TV problem but regular split second disconnects by the Router. The USB to Ethernet adapters are cheap on Amazon and you could use any range extender with an Ethernet port on it.

My router is literally next to the TV next to the inlet on the wall, constant 50mps , the wireless button is faded so cannot use but I literally cannot get nearer the router and I still have this problem!

In case this is of use to anyone, I called John Lewis about my new LG OLED55CX5LB (2020).

they said they would replace as it’s been less than 30 days but I could speak to LG and I did. The tech support guy was aware of the wired connect/disconnect pop ups that I was getting and said it was the WiFi module incorrectly kicking in and overriding the wired connection and it could not be fixed. He said he has seen it happen often in older machines but rarely in new ones. I ordered a replacement and we’ll see how it goes.

it does suggest to me that using WiFi instead might work, and also if you can manage to switch off the pop ups (I was advised you couldn’t ) then at least you won’t be distracted as it doesn’t seem to cause any viewing issues, probably as the stream is buffered.

My wifi is blanked out can only use adsl cable

  3. Hi

I did dump the tv and bought a Sony Bravia KD49X7053 (2020) LED HDR 4K Ultra HD Smart TV, 49 inch  from John Lewis,  anyone thinking of doing the same don't bother Sony (and John Lewis) are as bad as LG they could not care less about their customers, from 1 month the picture has been pixelating if someone or something moves in front or behind someone/something!  Obviously Sony have never seen anything like it , taken 3 months and still not fixed John Lewis refuse to exchange!

I have tried to use a USB stick as an external memory for my "Smart" TV. No luck at all with that, this "Smart" TV is not smart enough to do that.

I dont see any option to swap partition either, so thats also out of the question.

Upgrading the memory by installing another Ramdisk is also something that is far beyond what LG "Smart" TV's can do (My $200 mobile phone is better and faster than my $2,000 TV).

The only solution i have found is to add an external TV (Android) box and bypass the disgracefully inept LG TV.

The thing is this even happens with the sky box? So the tv is basically a monitor and this still happens

  5. I have the same "Memory" problems, I run of Ethernet because the wifi is blanked out, I emptied the cashe  and set for Private viewing, that seemed to work for a while but back to the same, having to switch off the app for the memory, also get the Network cable not connected, Network cable connected, that no one seems to have got fixed either!

I have come to the conclusion LG are just crap!  This is my second LG tv , the one I had a few years ago was lcd, it had a good picture, but took 20 minuets to start, 13 months after buying! The sound was crap, I had new speakers and a new motherboard fitted, I stopped at £220 and binned it, looks like this piece of junk will go the same way, expensive lesson, So NOT buy LG!

Guys, I had this problem on my LG 49UH770V. It was always hard wired to my router, never tested wireless. I constantly had the LAN disconnected and reconnected problem. This however stopped happening when I upgraded my old Ethernet cables (connected to my TV, Sky Q and PS4) to these: KabelDirekt 5m Cat6 Gigabit Ethernet Cable with Snagless RJ45 Connector (High-Speed and Reliable 1Gbps Internet Cord/Patch Cable with F/UTP Foil Shiel

This is the link, although the title has changed so I'm not sure if they are the exact same ones.  https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B01FHZNXXI/ref=ppx_od_dt_b_asin_title_s00?ie=UTF8&th=1

    Hope this helps.

I bought all new of the above connectors replaced all the old one's with these, made no difference at all, so save your money folks!

So don't buy LG TVs in the future, gotcha

I am in the UK and all calls end up in India talking to people who cannot speak English,

The tv is probably 2 years old got it from my son in law he bought it new and used it as a monitor so never connected to internet, he then decided on a better one when mine packed up he sold me this cheap,  he only used it a couple of months, I hate LG I had one before cost me a fortune picture took 20 minuets to start and the sound was crap, I had new circuit board new speakers, still did not work, I had to accept this as money a bit tight at the moment with the virus, so I don't expect any help from LG!

    Hello everyone,

I am facing the same issue as wired lan disconnected pop up message appearing every 5 min. This disconnects my netflix and i have to go back and start again. It is very annoying.  My LG tv model is 43UJ6200 . The wireless stopped working altogether so I am using ethernet cable.

I have circled back with internet provider and netflix team, both mentioned connections from their side is fine.  Now I m stuck with this issue.

Has anyone got their issue resolved?  My tv is out of warranty now, so I don't want to call a technician if its of no use. I have already changed motherboard a year back.

Please let me know if anyone got this fixed. Any help is appreciated.

    Thanks so much!

    Regards, AV
