I noticed since the last update of WebOS, it defaults to a screen with apps along the bottom rather than HDMI1 as before on startup. Even after going into the input settings and selecting HDMI1, it stills defaults to the other screen on startup. When selecting HDMI1 on the inputs screen, it has a red dot in the corner, which I would assumes means that's the selected default. But again, this seems to be ignored this on startup. Thanks.2 points

I called Amazon CS and they said it is a known problem and has to do with a bug in the latest release of the app. "They are working on it". I don't now why they don't re-release the old version until they get their act together2 points

Hi. What can I do to get my TV to use the full broadband speed that I've got available. My tv is a 55EC930V and is using a wired connection to my router. My broadband is currently running at 125Mbps. When I use any other devices such as a laptop, mobile phone, etc the speed using fast.com returns anything between 120 to 130 MBps. But, when I use the web browser on the TV, it always maxes out at 33Mbps. This value is reported by fast.com. If I use the speed test in the Netflix app, this returns approx 29Mbps. I never get anything higher, so what's limiting it? The same problem occurs for YouTube and that's the only other App that I've got installed. If the network board in the TV is supposed to be 10-100Mbps, why don't I get 100 Mbps? I know I won't get 125Mbps because LG never puts 1Gbps in any of it's TVs.2 points

I'd like a fast accessible shortcut to turn off the screen, eg. when pressing settings, a button on the screen. Or even better, the possibility to configure the speaker off button on the remote to turn off the screen instead. It should work independently of the energy saving feature, so that energy saving is not set to off when the screen is turned on again. The existing procedure to turn off screen is to complex press settings, press all settings, press energy saving, press off..... and when the screen is turned on again, the energy saving is set to off, and not to the previous value (eg. auto). If you use the voice function on the remote and say "screen off" it will also turn off the screen, this seems to be the most efficient way of doing it I've found so far. There needs to be a shortcut button on the remote!2 points

Updated: Download SDK Before you download the SDK, check that you meet the system requirements. Download the installer and/or the SDK package for your computer OS. If you choose to install the SDK with a network installer, you do not need to download the SDK package file. The network installer will do the job for you. Read the Installation Guide for step-by-step instructions on installing the SDK. For information on changes in this SDK release, see Release Notes. Linux Linux 64-bit Installer Installer_linux64.zip (5.41M) Linux 64-bit Package webOS_SDK_linux64.zip (1491.72M) Linux 32-bit Installer Installer_linux32.zip (5.76M) Linux 32-bit Package webOS_SDK_linux32.zip (1494.66M) Mac Mac 64-bit Installer Installer_macosx.zip (5.2M) Mac 64-bit Package webOS_SDK_mac64.zip (1468.86M) Windows Windows 64-bit Installer Installer_win64.zip (5.35M) Windows 64-bit Package webOS_SDK_win64.zip (1487.35M) Windows 32-bit Installer Installer_win32.zip (5.96M) Windows 32-bit Package webOS_SDK_win32.zip (1481.72M) CLI-only installation via network installer is recommended when: You have your own development environment or compact installation is required. Windows 10 is your operating system. Other components (e.g. IDE and Emulator) of webOS TV SDK are not fully tested on Windows 10 yet.2 points

I did find a solution but you must be comfortable with rooting your tv. I had to root and add a startup script that would disable the internal screensaver when your app is running. https://discord.gg/TD4UhC6a the above link shows how to root your tv.1 point

No, ended up using a Fire Stick and loaded Plex on it which works fine1 point

All my channels have gone. Firstly it started with a bad broken image and sound in a few changes. Then some disappeared. I went to do a automatic tuning to see if I could get them back. Eventually instead of recovering the missing ones I lost all channels. I have retuning, replugging and even reseting the TV and nothing.... I phoned LG and they did remotely everything I did do, and no results. They told I need to repair my TV. How is that possible? One day all normal and then all gone..... Please can any one help me ??? Thanks Cris1 point

I have a brand new LG OLEDC8PLA model and have both an input for my aerial and for my Satellite however i cannot seem to find anyway to switch from watching via my aerial, which is Spanish DTV and then switching to my Satellite to watch UK TV I live in Spain hence the two systems. When I press the home button on the remote the list is at the bottom and displayed are LG Content Store HDMI3, LiveTV Freesat etc but no button with the aerial option, so the only way I can switch is to go into the main settings menu select Programme Tuning and switch the programme mode from Satellite to Antenna. This does not seem a very smart way to be able to switch Does anybody know if you can switch easily?1 point

There is a thread about the issue. Please use it instead. TL;DR unplugging and plugging the HDMI cable back to the TV fixes the problem until the TV is turned off. Next time the TV is on I have to repeat this. I have the following setup: TV: LG SK8500PL SW Version: 05.50.10 webOS TV Version: 4.4.2-10 (goldilocks-gorongosa) Soundbar: Samsung Q950A connected via HDMI ARC port. It used to work OK but one day it stopped reproducing sound from the soundbar. When I try to adjust the volume I just have a grey DISABLED icon. So far, I have tried to play with all kind of options from the menu of the TV and I have power cycled it, factory reset the TV as well. I have tested the soundbar and the cable with my other LG TV and it works perfectly. I am assuming it is a hardware problem with the port, but I just wanted to ask here for any advice? Today unplugged and replugged the cable (again). The issue was gone. Could be some SW update on the Soundbar as I had a BT sync issues which are now gone.1 point

Hi @JeanF The short answer is no, the long one is yes but only if you or someone else creates it for the platform. It is not as simple as actually taking an existing browser, say like Chrome, and installing it on the platform. (mansplaining over...)1 point

Signify has now released a Hue sync app for recent Samsung TV's. It is up to LG to follow up on this for recent LG models. Btw, the adds on this LG site are messing up everything. The screen keeps jumping and it's even hard to type a reply. Why are there adds on a userforum?1 point

I have completed my first TV app. It does its job very well: display on the TV, in REAL TIME, the GPS track of my excursions in the mountains. From home my family can therefore follow me, for my safety since I almost always go alone in the mountains. The next step would be to switch from the "developer" mode (the current one) to a "production" one. But I think that the LG store does not accept this app because it is too personal: it is not a video game with 10000 downloads! Furthermore, they could object to privacy issues. So how to make this app "definitive" (installed on 2 or 3 TVs at the most) without having to renew the extension of the developer mode every 40/50 hours ? Is there no other way than going through the LG market? Thanks for your attention1 point
-
Yes, I can confirm this, however I am not sure it is a WebOS issue. It started this first by asking me to sign in every time I launched it, instead of asking me to select a user profile. I had to exit the app completely and when I next launched it, I was asked to select a user profile. Then yesterday it started showing the splash screen and just sitting there indefinitely. It became a case of launching another app like iView, closing it and then Kayo seemed to be OK until the nest launch. I say not necessarily a WebOS issue because I also have an Android TV Box, and Kayo started doing the same thing using it.1 point

Hello everyone, a couple of things. First: LG Service Remote Control app actually works. it only costs 1.99$ and its available at play store. IMPORTANT: application works through IR blaster and thus you need to download it to a phone that supports it. I know for sure that the latest XIAOMI phones still have one. I used a XIAOMI Note 8 Pro. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=by.makarov.smarttvlgrc&hl=en&gl=US Second: After downloading the app, press ADJUST button. It open the service menu. Go to AREA Setting. My TV was bought in US and moved to Europe/Greece. The default settings were: Area Option: 22282 Continent Index: 10 Language&Country: US HW Settings: US At the location setting at the menu was showing: United Stares, Mexico, Canada, Others. I found a friend's LG TV purchased in Greece at the same time and did the same. Navigate to the Area option menu and copied its settings Area Option: 3122 Continent Index: 50 Language&Country: EU HW Settings: EU Went back to my TV, modified 22282 to 3122, automatically Continent Index, Language&Country, HW Settings were changed. Close TV, re-open it, it displays WebOS, doing its staff for a while, and the you have the same menu with a locally purchased TV, Location, Broadcast area, menu language. My TV now displays the menu in Greek, and at the LG store i can find local apps such as COSMOTE TV, ERTFLIX, TuneIn Radio etc. Lastly: 3122 is EU general. In some posts i show that 3122 is UK and 3124 Italy. By using 3122 it popped up all European countries to choose from. Thank you,1 point

The current setting is definitely horrible and not working correctly. Screensaver should *NOT* come on when I have apps running like Spotify or Netflix. Like Dave, I don't want to have to keep pushing buttons to follow along with what songs are playing and what lyrics the songs have. I get that it is burn in protection, but I paid good money for this TV and I prefer for it to work the way I want it to and disable any "protective" features if I don't want them, rather than be forced to stare at a black screen with a few dots pretending to be "fireworks".1 point

Same request. Is there some way we users could get a checkbox during the Bluetooth pairing process that says "Connect automatically"? That way, the default could still be "Ask to connect", but users could have the option to avoid picking up the remote to connect a newly powered on Bluetooth device. I do like that the speakers come on when the Bluetooth device is powered off, but maybe someone would like to set Bluetooth as the default output?1 point

Where can I go to suggest that this screensaver be set up as a default, but can be disabled. Karaoke is impossible with this!1 point

We purchased and LG UHD SmartTV with WebOS at end of July 2018. The following messages continuously alternate re. the Wired Ethernet connection whenever the LAN cable is plugged in, i.e. "Wired network is connected" followed immediately by "Wired Lan cable disconnected". However, the router is stable and there is a trouble-free, continous Wi-fi connnection to the same Smart TV. There are also no failures for other devices connected via a Wired Ethernet connection to the same router. Dear LG ... is this a WebOS software issue or is it a SmartTV network card issue ? If this is not resolved very quickly we will dump this TV and buy SAMSUNG instead.1 point

I definitely agree we should have more granularity when it comes to the settings. LG was *so* great about giving us an absolutely obscene amount of it in our video settings, but I can't turn off the irritating "no input detected" pop-up, modify the screensaver in any way or even change the rotating wallpaper. I mean, that's BASIC customization, and ridiculously easy to implement. I don't know anything about Deezer, but it seems odd that the changing subtitles wouldn't be enough to untrigger the screensaver. Conversely, I find it frustrating that the screensaver doesn't work with external components like either of my Playstations, my 4K disc player or my Chromecast. It doesn't kick in at all. If it's *that* critical, LG (and I personally agree that it is), then the input choice shouldn't matter. If you have something like that, maybe try accessing Deezer through it instead of directly through the TV?1 point
