  2. I think that the only problem with external HDDs may be power related, i.e. TV's USB port may not deliver enough power to HDD. However, this should not be an issue with any modern HDD (2.5", USB 3.0). USB 2.0 should not be a bottleneck. Cable TV channels usually have bitrate of up to 10 Mb/s. That is 1.25 MB/s, which is supported by any HDD and is way under the capacity of USB 2.0. Here is the list of drives that my TV (49UH8507) was able to use as a recording device: 1. WD My Passport Ultra 1TB, USB 3.0 plugged into USB 3.0 port on TV 2. Apacer AC233 1TB, USB 3.0 plugged into USB 3.0 port on TV. It also works plugged into 2.0 port. 3. An old Apacer AC203 500GB, USB 2.0 plugged into USB 3.0 port on TV. This HDD was designed to draw power from two USB ports using Y cable. However, it successfully works with a regular mini USB cable. 4. Sandisk Extreme 32GB, USB 3.0 flash disk 5. An old Silicon Power 8GB 3.0 flash disk, plugged into 2.0 port on TV. I successfully recorded some cable TV HD channel . Virtually anything I tested was working ok.

  3. The last version listed on LG's support page for your model is 05.05.55 is this the version you are running? If this is newer version to what you have installed and it will not perform an over-the-air update you would need to download it and install it manually. Unfortunately LG have no control of what new technologies another manufacturer will release so are unable to fully future proof their products. Basically store representatives will tell you anything if they think it will convince you to purchase an item, again they have no idea what new technologies will be release in the future and whether or not it will be compatible with your TV. Here are a couple of links to articles that may help you: https://www.forbes.com/sites/kevinmurnane/2017/06/25/ps4-pro-troubleshooting-how-to-display-4k-hdr-on-an-lg-tv/#752fb10d6dda https://www.forbes.com/sites/johnarcher/2016/11/28/lg-rolls-out-tv-upgrade-to-fix-ps4-pro-connection-woes/#76d18fd41142 If any of the above is useful please let the rest of the forum know.

  4. Currently the only way I know of getting HBO GO on webOS is via the Amazon Prime app: https://help.hbogo.com/hc/en-us/articles/204872107-Watching-HBO-on-Amazon-Prime I am not sure whether you have to have an actual Amazon Prime Video account as well, or if you can just install the app and use the HBO GO part of it. Sadly so many sites and services rely on Adobe's Flash, which is a constantly changing environment, instead of moving to newer more stable platform agnostic technologies. Many manufacturers just do not want to have to keep playing catchup with Adobe.
